Diablo Immortal Challenge Rift Season 21 starts on November 2, 2026, adding 50 new floors from 901 through 950. Blizzard is also increasing the difficulty of earlier floors, so returning players will face a harder climb even before they reach the new season’s final challenge.

The most competitive reward is reserved for the first player on each server to clear Floor 950: an exclusive portrait frame that stays active until Season 22 begins. Everybody else can still push through the new floors during Season 21, which ends on December 17.

Season 21 runs from November 2 to December 17. Blizzard hasn’t specified an exact hour for the new floor unlocks, so players chasing the server-first frame should watch the game’s season countdown rather than relying on an assumed reset time.

Which floors are new in Season 21?

Diablo Immortal Challenge Rift Season 21 adds Floors 901–950 above the previous cap. You don’t start at Floor 901 automatically: continue from your current Challenge Rift progress and work up through the remaining floors.

Each floor is part of the game’s escalating PvE challenge system, so arriving at a newly unlocked floor doesn’t mean your character is strong enough to clear it immediately. Builds, gear progression and your ability to finish within the game’s challenge conditions remain important as you move upwards.

The update also raises the difficulty of previous floors. That change may affect players who were comfortable with an earlier floor before the new season. Don’t plan your climb on the assumption that you can reproduce an old clear at the same speed with unchanged equipment and skills.

Diablo Immortal Challenge Rift Season 21 – How to earn the Floor 950 portrait frame

The exclusive frame goes to one player per server: whoever first completes Floor 950. Clearing the floor later won’t award the same first-clear frame, even if you finish in the top ten or achieve a faster time after the first completion.

If you’re racing for the frame, get your character and build ready before November 2. You’ll need to clear the new floors quickly once they unlock. Because there’s no announced launch hour for Season 21, check your region’s live countdown before scheduling a first-clear attempt.

The portrait frame is also temporary. Blizzard says it lasts until Season 22 begins. Winning the server-first clear doesn’t permanently unlock this specific reward, so it is better understood as a seasonal recognition item than an account cosmetic you can keep indefinitely.

What to prepare before the new floors open

If you already push high-end Challenge Rifts, use the days before November 2 to check your main gear, secondary equipment and any class build you actually rely on in timed content. Practice on an appropriately challenging existing floor to see where your current setup struggles, then decide whether survivability, damage or your combat rotation needs attention.

The October update raises the Secondary Item Rank cap to 30, with ranks 26–30 tied to Paragon 1600, 1700, 1800, 2000 and 2100 respectively. Those are item-upgrade gates, not confirmed Challenge Rift Season 21 entry requirements. Our Secondary Item Rank 30 guide explains that separate progression system and what you need for each rank.

For Legendary Essence changes, read our Legacy Loyalty Points and Inferno XV guide. The reset affects how you obtain higher-tier essences after the update, but Blizzard has not announced that spending Loyalty Points is a mandatory step before entering Floor 901.

Will Season 21 have new floor rewards?

The announced unique reward is the first-clear Floor 950 portrait frame. Blizzard hasn’t listed a separate cosmetic for every new floor, so use the in-game Challenge Rift reward screen after November 2 to see the ordinary rewards attached to your current climb.

There’s still a reason to climb after the first-clear race is over: the extra 50 floors create new progression milestones, and earlier floors are being made tougher too. Aim to beat your own highest clear while preparing for the next season.

What happens after December 17?

Diablo Immortal Challenge Rift Season 21 closes on December 17, 2026. Blizzard has not given Season 22’s floor range or start hour in this announcement, so those details are still separate from the confirmed Season 21 schedule. The Floor 950 server-first portrait frame lasts until Season 22 begins, whenever that next season starts.
