Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op: How to Play With Friends and Invite Players

Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op

Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op lets you explore, craft and survive with up to two friends, making a party of three players in total. The cooking-focused dungeon adventure launches on Steam on October 13, 2026, with online co-op already supported in its demo. If you’ve been planning a Game Pass session with friends, the important thing to know is the party-size limit and which multiplayer features are actually confirmed.

It’s a game built around the kind of decisions that become much more entertaining when several people are involved. One player can be gathering ingredients while another is trying to work out what the kitchen needs, and a bad expedition can leave everybody scrambling for food or a safe route home. Here is what you can do together, how invitations currently work in the demo and what still needs checking after the full launch.

How many players can join Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op?

The developers describe online co-op for up to three players. That means you and two friends, not three friends joining you for a four-player party. You can also play on your own, so there’s no need to wait for a full group before exploring the dungeon.

Steam lists Online Co-op as a supported feature. The developer’s demo notes also say the demo lets players invite friends either through Steam or in the game itself. This establishes that invitations exist in the PC demo, but it doesn’t confirm every button name or menu layout for the October 13 release.

On Steam, install the game or demo, start it and look for the multiplayer invitation option. The developer confirms that the demo supports invites through Steam and through an in-game invitation feature, so either route can bring friends into an available session. Make sure everyone is playing the same build, particularly if one person has the demo and the others have bought the full version.

The precise launch-version button sequence hasn’t been documented in the current official announcement. If the main menu has a different layout on October 13, follow the on-screen invite prompts rather than a pre-release guide that claims to know the exact wording. Steam’s friends interface is also worth checking when a direct game invitation doesn’t appear.

Does Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op support Game Pass?

Deep Dish Dungeon is included in Microsoft’s October 2026 Game Pass Wave 1 lineup, with an October 13 availability date. The game’s Steam release and the Game Pass launch are part of the same week, but this doesn’t automatically prove that a player using Steam can join somebody on Xbox or the Xbox PC app.

Steam now lists both Online Co-op and Cross-Platform Multiplayer for Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op, so cross-platform play is advertised rather than entirely unconfirmed. What the listing doesn’t spell out is exactly which combinations of Steam, Xbox and the Xbox PC app can join one another, or whether those invitations use Steam friends or an in-game system. If your group plays across different stores or devices, check the supported pairing and invitation method when the full game launches on October 13, rather than buying an extra copy based on an assumption.

What do you do together in Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op?

Exploring the dungeon is only part of the adventure. You gather ingredients, cook food, craft equipment and investigate different rooms to keep going. Recipes matter because they help you prepare for the next expedition, while crafting determines which useful tools your party can take along.

The developers have shown group play as a natural part of the experience rather than a separate competitive mode. You can share the pressure of gathering resources and managing food, although the exact rules for shared inventories, individual quest progress and loot ownership have not all been explained in the pre-release material. It’s better to learn those from the live build than to assume every chest belongs to the entire party.

Food isn’t just decoration in Deep Dish Dungeon. Cooking is at the heart of how you prepare for exploration, with ingredients found on expeditions feeding into new dishes and your next journey. In a group, having somebody pay attention to supplies while everybody else searches ahead can save a lot of backtracking.

In Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op, the same goes for crafting. Collect what you need during safer moments instead of waiting until the party is struggling to continue. That doesn’t require a perfect division of roles or a strict plan. Half the appeal is improvising when the recipe you hoped to make isn’t possible with what you brought home.

Is Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op local or online?

Online co-op is confirmed by the Steam store listing. The official material doesn’t clearly promise split-screen or shared-screen local co-op for the October 13 version, so don’t buy it assuming two players can sit at one PC and use separate controllers in the same session.

If you want to play from different homes, online co-op is the supported option. If you’re planning a local couch session, check the available modes in the final release first. A game supporting multiple players online doesn’t automatically mean its local multiplayer features work the same way.

Why Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op invites might not work

If an invitation fails, first confirm that everybody is running the correct version of the game and has launched it successfully. Make sure there is room in the three-player party and that the player receiving the invitation is online in Steam. The demo and full release aren’t necessarily interchangeable for multiplayer matchmaking.

After that, check whether the game offers its own invitation method. Because the demo supports both in-game and Steam invitations, trying the other supported route may help when a friend isn’t seeing the prompt. Don’t assume an error means crossplay is broken if cross-platform play has not been confirmed for those versions.

Related Guides for Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op

The Deep Dish Dungeon Co-op experience is built for small groups who enjoy discovering recipes and figuring out what to do with limited resources. You can take two friends along, split the work of exploring and cooking, and learn from the disasters that happen along the way. Just remember that the confirmed party limit is three players, and that Steam, Game Pass and local co-op aren’t necessarily interchangeable without a confirmed crossplay feature.
