Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm is a Tactical Skill that clears Consuming Memories and Dismay from your entire team while damaging enemies and putting them to Sleep.
The Bell of the Nether Realm becomes available from the Failed Binding Spell stage in Timeline of Fate: Tartrus of Oblivion. It was introduced alongside the Consuming Memories mechanic and gives players a direct way to counter one of the biggest dangers in the Nether Realm stages.
Unlike a normal Cookie Skill, however, the Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm cannot simply be activated whenever its cooldown finishes. You need Tactical Skill charges, making both timing and the enemies you defeat important when progressing through the Nether Realm.
What Does Bell of the Nether Realm Do?
The Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm has several effects when activated.
| Bell of the Nether Realm effect | What it does |
|---|---|
| Clears Consuming Memories | Empties the Consuming Memories bars of all allies |
| Removes Dismay | Clears Dismay from every affected Cookie |
| Deals damage | Damages enemies |
| Inflicts Sleep | Puts affected enemies to Sleep |
| Nether Queen bonus | Allies deal increased damage if Nether Queen Cookie is on the team |
Its most important purpose is removing Consuming Memories and Dismay.
Consuming Memories gradually fills as your Cookies attack enemies or take damage. Once an ally’s bar is completely full, the Cookie falls asleep, takes increased damage and gains Dismay.
Dismay then prevents that Cookie from receiving normal Healing and Shields, which can make affected stages considerably harder if several members of your team gain the status at the same time.
Activating the Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm removes both problems immediately.
How to Unlock Bell of the Nether Realm
The Bell of the Nether Realm Tactical Skill becomes available from the Failed Binding Spell stage.
You do not have access to the Bell throughout the entirety of Timeline of Fate: Tartrus of Oblivion. It becomes part of the battle mechanics once you reach this point in the story.
After the Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm has been introduced, you can use it during the relevant stages whenever you have a Tactical Skill charge available.
This also means players struggling with earlier Consuming Memories encounters will not necessarily have the Bell available as an immediate solution.
How to Get Bell of the Nether Realm Charges
Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm charges are earned by defeating enemies infused with the Nether Realm’s energy.
Every qualifying enemy defeated adds a Tactical Skill charge.
This creates an important part of the Nether Realm battle strategy.
You need to defeat the correct enemies to keep the Bell available, while also deciding when a charge is actually worth using. Activating the Bell as soon as it becomes available can leave you without a charge later when several Cookies are close to receiving Dismay.
The best approach is usually to watch your team’s Consuming Memories bars and use the Bell when it will benefit multiple Cookies.
When Should You Use Bell of the Nether Realm?
The best time to use Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm is when several Cookies have high Consuming Memories bars or important team members have already gained Dismay.
Using the Bell immediately when one Cookie has only accumulated a small amount of Consuming Memories wastes much of its defensive value.
A better priority is:
- Watch the Consuming Memories bars during battle.
- Continue fighting while the bars remain manageable.
- Defeat Nether Realm-infused enemies to earn Tactical Skill charges.
- Activate Bell of the Nether Realm before several important Cookies become overwhelmed.
- Use the Bell immediately if Dismay is preventing you from keeping crucial Cookies alive.
There will be situations where using the Bell offensively is worthwhile because it also damages enemies and puts them to Sleep, but clearing Consuming Memories and Dismay should normally be the priority.
Does Bell of the Nether Realm Remove Dismay?
Yes. Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm removes Dismay from all allies when activated.
This is particularly important because Dismay permanently blocks normal Healing and Shields while the status remains active.
Once the Bell clears Dismay, affected Cookies can again receive conventional Healing and Shield effects.
You therefore do not necessarily need to restart a battle simply because one or more Cookies have gained Dismay. If you have a Bell charge available, the status can be removed.
Does Bell of the Nether Realm Clear Consuming Memories?
Yes. The Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm completely clears the Consuming Memories bar for all allies.
This means you can use it proactively before Dismay is triggered rather than waiting until the status has already been applied.
For example, if three of your Cookies are approaching full Consuming Memories bars, activating the Bell resets all three and prevents the associated Sleep, increased damage and Dismay effects.
This is often more efficient than waiting for several Cookies to become affected and then trying to recover afterwards.
Nether Queen Cookie Makes the Bell Stronger
Nether Queen Cookie has a special interaction with the Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm.
If Nether Queen Cookie is on your team when the Bell is activated, allies deal increased damage.
This gives the Tactical Skill an additional offensive benefit and makes Nether Queen particularly useful throughout the content.
Nether Queen is already naturally suited to Consuming Memories stages because she is immune to the mechanic. She can also grant Shields and Healing to allies affected by Dismay, something normal Healing and Shield effects cannot do while Dismay is active.
Using Nether Queen therefore gives you several ways of dealing with the mechanic rather than relying exclusively on Bell charges.
Asphodel Cookie Helps Control Consuming Memories
Asphodel Cookie is another strong choice for stages where the Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm is important.
Asphodel greatly slows the rate at which allies accumulate Consuming Memories. She also receives increased ATK and DMG Dampening in the Nether Realm and applies these benefits to the rest of the team.
Slowing Consuming Memories gives you more time between Bell activations.
A team using Asphodel can therefore potentially preserve Tactical Skill charges for tougher sections rather than repeatedly needing to clear full Consuming Memories bars.
Nether Queen and Asphodel are especially useful together because they approach the mechanic from different directions: Asphodel slows its progression, while Nether Queen provides immunity and additional support once Dismay becomes a problem.
Can You Survive Dismay Without the Bell?
It is possible to survive Dismay without immediately using Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm.
Defeating enemies infused with Nether Realm energy restores HP to allies affected by Dismay. Nether Queen Cookie can also continue Healing and shielding affected Cookies despite the normal restrictions.
However, leaving Dismay active remains risky because affected Cookies take increased damage and cannot receive normal Healing or Shields.
If you have a Bell charge available and important Cookies are affected, clearing Dismay is normally safer than trying to fight through it.
Bell of the Nether Realm Strategy
The Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm should primarily be treated as a defensive reset rather than another damage ability.
Its enemy damage and Sleep effects are useful, but the ability to clear Consuming Memories and Dismay from the entire team is what makes the Tactical Skill particularly powerful.
Save charges when your Consuming Memories bars are low, target Nether Realm-infused enemies to replenish the Tactical Skill and activate the Bell before multiple Cookies become vulnerable.
Nether Queen Cookie makes Bell of the Nether Realm even stronger by providing an additional ally damage increase when it is activated, while Asphodel Cookie can reduce how quickly you need to use it in the first place.
Once you reach the Failed Binding Spell stage, properly managing the Cookie Run Kingdom Bell of the Nether Realm becomes one of the easiest ways to keep Consuming Memories and Dismay under control throughout Tartrus of Oblivion.
