The Cookie Run Kingdom August 12 Update adds Timeline of Fate Episode 8, two new Arcade Arena seasons, Wind Archer Cookie’s Trial of Glory, Dominion of the Beasts Part 3 and the return of Avatar of Destiny to Guild Battle.
It is a fairly substantial mid-August update, particularly for players who have finished the existing Timeline of Fate content. Alongside the new episode, the update introduces the Consuming Memories mechanic and Bell of the Nether Realm Tactical Skill, while several existing modes have received new seasons or improvements.
Here is everything included in the Cookie Run Kingdom August 12 Update and what each addition means for players.

The new Timeline of Fate episode continues the Tartrus of Oblivion story, with Pure Vanilla Cookie attempting to bring White Lily Cookie back from the realm between life and death.
Timeline of Fate Episode 8: I Promise
Episode 8, I Promise, is the major story addition in the Cookie Run Kingdom August 12 Update.
The episode continues Timeline of Fate: Tartrus of Oblivion and follows Pure Vanilla Cookie as he enters Tartrus in search of White Lily Cookie.
A new Episode Effect called Consuming Memories begins from the Plains of Oblivion stage and becomes one of the main mechanics players need to manage while progressing through the new content.
Consuming Memories and Dismay Explained
Consuming Memories introduces a bar that fills whenever allies attack enemies or take damage.
Once an ally’s Consuming Memories bar becomes full, that Cookie falls asleep, takes increased damage and receives the Dismay status.
Dismay is particularly dangerous because it permanently prevents the affected Cookie from receiving normal Healing and Shields.
There are several ways to counter the effect.
Nether Queen Cookie is immune to Consuming Memories and can still Heal or provide Shields to allies suffering from Dismay. Defeating enemies empowered by Nether Realm energy can also restore HP to affected allies.
Asphodel Cookie receives additional advantages within this content. Asphodel gains increased ATK and DMG Dampening while significantly slowing the rate at which allies accumulate Consuming Memories. Those benefits are also applied across the team.
The mechanic makes Nether Queen and Asphodel particularly useful choices while progressing through the new stages.
Bell of the Nether Realm Tactical Skill
The Cookie Run Kingdom August 12 Update also introduces Bell of the Nether Realm, a new Tactical Skill available from the Plains of Oblivion.
Using Bell of the Nether Realm clears both the Consuming Memories bar and Dismay status from all allies.
It also damages enemies and puts them to Sleep.
If Nether Queen Cookie is included in the team, allies receive an additional damage increase when the Bell is activated.
Charges for the Tactical Skill can be gained by defeating enemies infused with Nether Realm energy.
The Bell therefore serves as one of the primary ways of controlling the new Episode Effect rather than simply trying to survive once Dismay begins spreading through the team.
Arcade Arena Returns
Arcade Arena is another major part of the Cookie Run Kingdom August 12 Update.
There are two seasons during the new Arcade Arena period.
Battle of the Epics
Battle of the Epics runs from August 12 until August 19, 2026.
Players create teams of five Epic Cookies and can equip three Treasures. Cookies and their Skills are boosted to Level 100 for Arcade Arena battles.
The available Cookies and Treasures are determined by the season, meaning the normal Kingdom Arena meta does not automatically translate into the best Arcade Arena team.
Arcade Arena Tickets are needed for battles, with one ticket automatically regenerating every two hours and 24 minutes.
Tickets can also be obtained using Crystals or by watching an advertisement.
Epic Elemental Arena
Battle of the Epics is followed by Epic Elemental Arena, running from August 19 until August 26.
The second season switches the emphasis towards Elemental Cookies and elemental damage.
Because each Arcade Arena season has its own available Cookies, Treasures and rules, players should expect the strongest teams to change when Epic Elemental Arena begins.
Arcade Arena Practice Mode and Arcade Report
The returning Arcade Arena includes Practice Mode, allowing players to test attack teams and strategies without setting up a separate defense team.
There is also an Arcade Report showing which Cookies and Treasures are being used most frequently during the season.
Data is collected during the first day and the Arcade Report is then updated daily between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. GMT+9.
Arcade Arena ranks begin at Chocolate and extend through to Grandmaster. Ranks reset back to Chocolate when the season ends.
Winning battles awards Arcade Arena Coins, which can be spent in the Arcade Arena Shop.
Wind Archer Cookie Trial of Glory
Wind Archer Cookie receives the first new Trial of Glory in the Cookie Run Kingdom August 12 Update.
Trial of Glory is unlocked after clearing Stage 10 of Trial Grounds.
The objective is to deal as much damage as possible to a boss before time expires, with Wind Archer Cookie required in the team during his Trial of Glory.
Three possible bosses exist for the Wind Archer Trial. One is randomly selected as the Season Boss and remains active until that week’s season ends.
Each boss has different Skills, passive effects and battlefield mechanics, so the strongest team can change depending on which boss is selected.
Trial of Glory resets every Wednesday at midnight GMT+9.
The featured Cookies are scheduled to rotate in this order:
- Wind Archer Cookie
- Moonlight Cookie
- Stormbringer Cookie
- Black Pearl Cookie
- Sea Fairy Cookie
- Frost Queen Cookie
Rewards are divided into First Win Rewards, Season Rewards and Play Rewards.
Dominion of the Beasts Part 3
Dominion of the Beasts Part 3 is also included in the Cookie Run Kingdom August 12 Update.
Players can choose from one of the five Beast Cookies that appeared across Parts 1 and 2.
The available Beast Cookies are:
| Beast Cookie |
|---|
| Mystic Flour Cookie |
| Burning Spice Cookie |
| Shadow Milk Cookie |
| Eternal Sugar Cookie |
| Silent Salt Cookie |
After choosing a Beast Cookie, players complete missions to unlock additional modes where that Cookie can be used.
Completing every Dominion of the Beasts Part 3 mission awards a Profile Background and Badge.
The ability to choose between all five Beast Cookies makes Part 3 particularly useful for players who are still missing one of the major Beast releases.
Avatar of Destiny Returns to Guild Battle
Guild Battle has also changed following the Cookie Run Kingdom August 12 Update.
Avatar of Destiny has returned to the Guild Battle boss rotation beginning with Destiny’s Flight 34.
Its return removes Red Velvet Dragon from the active rotation, meaning players using older Guild Battle team guides may need to change one of their prepared teams.
Avatar of Destiny joins Living Abyss and Machine-God of the Eternal Void in the current Guild Battle rotation.
New Auto Frame Rate Setting
A smaller but useful addition in the Cookie Run Kingdom August 12 Update is an Auto option for Frame Rate.
Players can now choose between:
| Setting | Behavior |
|---|---|
| 30 FPS | Remains at 30 FPS |
| Auto | Switches between 30 and 60 FPS depending on device temperature |
| 60 FPS | Remains at 60 FPS |
When Auto is enabled, Cookie Run: Kingdom initially runs at 30 FPS.
If the device remains at a stable temperature for long enough, the game switches to 60 FPS. If the device becomes too warm while running at 60 FPS, the frame rate automatically drops back to 30 FPS.
The feature is designed to reduce device overheating while still allowing the game to run at 60 FPS when conditions permit.
Trials of the Nether Realm Improvements
Trials of the Nether Realm received two smaller quality-of-life changes.
The Expedition selection guide displayed when starting Trials of the Nether Realm now includes a Don’t show again today option.
The Clear message that previously appeared after completing individual Trials of the Nether Realm nodes has also been removed.
Those changes round out the Cookie Run Kingdom August 12 Update alongside the much larger Timeline of Fate, Arcade Arena, Trial of Glory, Dominion of the Beasts and Guild Battle additions.
