Clover RPG Broom unlocks by completing Johan’s Winds of Freedom quest in Kamo Village. Bring him one Cloth and two Wood, then speak to him again for your mount, 200 EXP and 25 Marks. The quest is part of the starter tutorial, not a level-15 magic requirement. The Grimoire ceremony is separate.

How to unlock the Clover RPG Broom
Start with Chief Farris in Kamo Village; the beginner route covers the other tutorial tasks. Follow the tutorial until you reach Johan, the village broom-maker (see the Kamo quest locations), and accept Winds of Freedom. Open your Journal with J on PC to see the requirements: 1 Cloth and 2 Wood. Gather both, return to Johan and finish the hand-in dialogue. This is a one-time quest, so there is no recurring purchase or daily task to keep the mount.

Clover RPG Broom materials: Cloth and Wood
Get two Wood near the Kamo Village blacksmith, where Wood is available according to the current quest guides. Daniel’s Timber! repeatable quest requires five Wood, but it is a different hand-in; don’t finish that expecting Johan’s broom as its reward. Check Winds of Freedom in your Journal before returning to the broom-maker.
For Cloth, complete Old Man Adelfus’s nearby quest if you don’t have any already. A Friend in Need sends you after three missing wagon wheels around Kamo Village and pays five Cloth, six Bandages, Wolfsbane, 140 EXP and 75 Marks. You need only one Cloth for Johan. Once you have the materials, talk to him again and confirm the completion message rather than walking away immediately after collecting the Wood.
How to equip and fly the Clover RPG Broom
After the completion dialogue, inspect your inventory and hotbar for the broom unlock, then equip or summon it through the game’s interface. On PC, use the broom from your hotbar and follow the mounted prompts for taking off and steering. The published controls list confirms M for the map and J for the Journal but does not give a separate reliable broom ascent or descent shortcut. Console layouts differ, and mobile is not supported.
The Clover RPG Broom has a maximum altitude, which becomes easier to manage as your Broom Flying profession grows. For the level-15 magic quest at Wisdoms Peak, use the portal at the island’s base instead of trying to reach the high tower with an unupgraded broom. Flight is useful for travelling between areas, but not a substitute for unlocking the game’s waypoint portals.
Clover RPG Broom Flying profession upgrades
Flying has its own profession progression. Tier II improves maximum altitude by 10%, while tier III boosts flight speed by 10%. At tier IV, press the normal block control (F on PC) while mounted to send out a wave that can knock nearby riders off their brooms. Tier V adds 15% maximum altitude. The final tier, VI, gives a further 15% flight speed, a special broom and the Air Savant title. The reported percentage bonuses apply to those profession perks, not directly to the Winds of Freedom quest.
For a separate 15% speed boost, finish Daeron the Daring’s Broom Derby. It asks you to complete three races: Broomshroom Zoom in Mushroom Village with Gargamel, Elden Derby with Tinycap in Elden Forest, and Kamo Broom Blitz with Boone east or southeast of the Kamo blacksmith. Completing all three awards 250 EXP, 55 Marks and the Tailwind trait. Gargamel’s individual race also pays 75 EXP and 25 Marks and can be repeated.
How to fix a missing broom reward
If the Clover RPG Broom is still locked, check that your Winds of Freedom Journal entry is actually completed. Carrying ingredients does not necessarily finish an NPC objective; you have to return and speak with Johan. If he won’t offer the quest, make sure you have advanced Chief Farris’s starter tutorial to the relevant stage. The broom isn’t a random grimoire reward and is not tied to reaching level 15.
Check your hotbar and inventory after claiming it, and verify that you’ve equipped the correct mount before trying to fly. If you’re stuck at a low ceiling, level the Broom Flying profession instead of repeating Johan’s non-repeatable quest. If a console input isn’t working, use the mounted prompts for your controller; the game has no mobile support. The Clover RPG Broom remains a useful early unlock even after you gain faster waypoint travel.
