build a FOB in WARDOGS by treating the Forward Operating Base as a working logistics hub, not just a box of walls. A useful FOB gives your team a protected place to stock supplies, build defenses and support a vehicle or objective push. The current Early Access economy makes waste painful, so the best first base is usually small, reachable and built for one clear job.

What you need to build a FOB in WARDOGS
To build a FOB in WARDOGS, buy a Forward Operating Base, choose ground that can still be reached by trucks or helicopters, place the FOB and work inside its build radius. Current community data shows a 60-meter build area. Build Supplies feed construction, while a hammer is required for buildables. Do not confuse field-item crates with bulk FOB supplies; they serve different jobs.
The launch economy also matters when you build a FOB in WARDOGS. The Season 1 notes raised the FOB vendor price compared with beta, so throwing one down without a plan can chew through your persistent cash. Before buying it, decide whether the position is meant to protect a drill, service vehicles, stage an attack or simply create a defensible fallback.
Choose a site that can actually be supplied
A strong place to build a FOB in WARDOGS needs cover and access at the same time. A beautifully hidden base is useless if a URAL cannot reach it and a helicopter has nowhere safe to unload. Check the route in and out before adding walls. Keep gates, roads and landing approaches open enough that the logistics players supporting you are not forced to abandon their cargo outside.
When you build a FOB in WARDOGS, avoid automatically placing it on the most obvious tower or ridge. Those positions are easy for teammates to understand, but they are also easy for enemy reconnaissance, tanks and indirect fire to find. An off-axis site with terrain cover can be stronger if it still supports the Control Zone and has a reliable supply route.
Stock the right supplies
The next step when you build a FOB in WARDOGS is stocking what the base actually needs. Build Supplies are used for structures. Ammo Supplies support ammunition-dependent buildables, Fuel Supplies support fuel-related service functions, and Mechanical Supplies are tied to vehicle repair. Delivering the wrong pallet is one of the fastest ways to make a base look busy while achieving nothing.
Start small after you build a FOB in WARDOGS. Put down the minimum cover needed to keep the FOB interaction, operators and supply lane alive, then add specialist structures. Repair and Refuel Stations are useful for vehicle-focused positions; defensive emplacements make sense only when somebody can feed them ammunition and actually use their firing arcs.
Season 2 FOB buildables: MG Nest, Large Shelter and Wooden Step
From 15 October 2026, BULKHEAD is adding three FOB structures: the MG Nest, a manned emplacement with an M2 Browning; the Large Shelter, a metal structure intended to protect players or important assets from exposure and rain; and the Wooden Step, a small structure for accessing raised areas within a build.
The MG Nest is most useful covering an approach an enemy has to cross, but someone will need to operate it. Don’t place the nest where an attacker can easily fire into the gunner from an unprotected flank. A Large Shelter makes more sense over supplies or vulnerable teammates than blocking your own delivery route, and steps are for access, not a replacement for cover.

The October 9 preview doesn’t establish construction supply costs, unlock levels or exact placement restrictions. The core FOB process above remains the same: choose a useful site, keep it supplied and leave space for vehicles and teammates to move. See our Season 2 overview for the accompanying weapons and vehicle changes.
Do not block your own base
Players learning to build a FOB in WARDOGS often overbuild entrances. Leave room for friendly vehicles to turn, unload and escape. Protect the core without making the base impossible to navigate. If a wall, bunker or parked vehicle creates a bottleneck that traps your own logistics truck, the fortification is working for the enemy.
Know when to stop repairing
A final part of learning to build a FOB in WARDOGS is knowing when the position has lost its purpose. If the Control Zone has moved, the supply road is permanently cut or accurate artillery keeps landing on the same point, pouring more cash into the base may be worse than rebuilding somewhere smaller. Preserve remaining cargo and vehicles when possible, then establish a new position that supports the current fight.
The best way to build a FOB in WARDOGS is therefore simple: choose one mission, protect access, stock the correct supplies and expand only when the team is genuinely using the position. WARDOGS rewards logistics because a functioning base changes how quickly players, vehicles and equipment can return to the fight; a giant empty fortress does not.
One important distinction is that the FOB itself is not the team spawn point. The faction spawn APC handles mobile deployment, so builders often protect or support that vehicle inside a useful base rather than assuming every fortification automatically becomes a respawn location. Plan the base around what it can actually provide.
