ARC Raiders Emperor Modulator: Where to Find It and Upgrade Gunsmith Level 4

Snow-covered Pendola Pass with fallen Emperor in ARC Raiders

The ARC Raiders Emperor Modulator is a Legendary material found inside the Fallen Emperor dungeon on Pendola Pass. One is required to upgrade your Gunsmith to Level 4, alongside three Radial Presses and three Magnetic Accelerators. The dungeon sits inside the crashed Emperor and is opened with an Emperor Gateway Conduit.

The Modulator is loot from containers, not an automatic reward for clearing the last room. The most important step is opening the extra racks in the Grand Loot Room, while also checking the breachable pods you pass on the way up. Start at the Emperor’s hatch, search the loot pods and extract with the Modulator before upgrading the Gunsmith.

The ARC Raiders Emperor Modulator can appear in loot pods around the Emperor interior, including the Grand Loot Room and special breachable containers before it. It does not have a guaranteed single spawn. You only need one for Gunsmith IV, so protect the first you find instead of selling or recycling it.

Your Outpost needs four rooms to unlock the relevant workstation cap. Opening a fourth room is not the Gunsmith upgrade itself: the Gunsmith also consumes the Modulator and its six additional components. Research Station IV is a separate requirement for Amplified Research.

ARC Raiders Emperor Modulator: Get the Emperor Gateway Conduit key

Queue for Pendola Pass under Redirection and search an active Damaged Emperor Relay. Use the Emperor Beacon outdoors to call down a Harvester Payload. Its large upright container can contain the blueprint and the ARC Plated, Conductive and Insulated Couplers. Learn the blueprint, then craft the Conduit at Workbench Level 1 using one of each Coupler.

The ARC Raiders Emperor Modulator does not drop from these outdoor payloads. Redirection supplies your entrance-key materials, while the actual Modulator is inside the wreck. Use the existing Gateway Conduit guide on The Click for the separate relay and crafting route.

ARC Raiders Emperor Modulator: Find and open the Fallen Emperor entrance

On Pendola Pass, head to the crashed Emperor near Piazza della Rupe and the Reckless Transceiver. Find the circular hatch and interact with the socket showing “Unlock: 0/1 Emperor Gateway Conduit.” The Conduit is consumed when the door opens. Bring shields, healing and a traversal gadget before entering.

The ARC Raiders Emperor Modulator run is a vertical dungeon rather than a simple container farm. You pass electrical traps, a powered elevator, mazes, crusher walls, lasers and Hydra enemies. The room sequence can change between runs, so learn each type instead of relying on one fixed route.

Reach the Grand Loot Room and open all six nodes

In the first corridor, shoot blue electrical conduit blocks and fight the guarding Hydra. On the elevator, destroy the yellow power nodes on the column and the outer walls. The open-grid maze uses four yellow nodes; the other maze variant has one unlocked door hidden in its partitions. In the gas-and-crusher room, use recesses for cover while the walls move.

At the Grand Loot Room, destroy the six yellow nodes, three on each side. The mechanism opens additional wall racks and the roof, bringing flying ARC into the chamber. Search the racks and normal canisters for the ARC Raiders Emperor Modulator, Amplification Modules and other rare parts. Some orange pods self-destruct after being breached, so step back when they flash.

Extract safely with the Emperor Modulator

Store the ARC Raiders Emperor Modulator in a Safe Pocket immediately. Either retrace the central shaft or use the upper vault exit, then call the Ballistic Gondola at a transceiver. The Reckless Transceiver near the Emperor is convenient but exposed, so don’t use up the whole raid timer opening unneeded containers.

Once you extract, check the Modulator is in your stash. A failed extraction without a protected pocket can cost the item. There is no guaranteed Modulator every run, so a complete loot-room sweep matters more than repeating only the final enemy fight.

Upgrade Gunsmith Level 4 in Speranza

Open the workshop after expanding the Outpost to four rooms. Supply 1 Emperor Modulator, 3 Radial Presses and 3 Magnetic Accelerators to upgrade the Gunsmith from III to IV. Level the Research Station to IV separately before trying to unlock individual amplified weapons.

The ARC Raiders Emperor Modulator is not an Amplification Module. Modules are used for particular weapon modifications and have different Marks. A Gunsmith upgrade requires the Modulator once, while later amplified guns need their own research and materials.

Emperor Modulator farming mistakes

Do not search Redirection payloads expecting a Modulator; those provide Conduit components. Do not leave the loot hangar before shooting the six yellow nodes. Do not skip wall panels on the way up. Avoid bringing a full backpack that cannot hold the loot, and do not start the dungeon with too little extraction time.

The ARC Raiders Emperor Modulator unlocks a permanent workshop upgrade. Bringing home one safely is more useful than filling your backpack with lower-value scrap and losing the only component you needed.
