ARC Raiders Battening Down is Apollo’s Riven Tides repair job: photograph the cracks in the seawall, sample the waterline by Hotel Panorama Azzurro and patch a leaking oil pipe in the northeast. The objectives are spread along the coast rather than hidden inside one building.
You can handle the three jobs in one sweep across the map, with a camera for the seawall and enough room in your bag for anything the shoreline interaction produces. The quest was added with Riven Tides in April, but the newer camera controls from Frozen Trail make the first step especially worth checking.
ARC Raiders Battening Down: Find the seawall cracks and take the photo
Head to the built-up coast on Riven Tides and inspect the seawall near the waterfront. Look for visible damage in the concrete rather than trying to photograph the entire beach from far away. Frozen Trail changed older photo objectives to use the new Basic Camera, so bring one and watch for the quest framing prompt. ARC Raiders Battening Down only advances when the proper damaged seawall is photographed. If it doesn’t register, reposition near the cracks and frame them again instead of taking a dozen random landscape photos.
ARC Raiders Battening Down: Sample the shoreline near the hotel
Next visit the beach below Hotel Panorama Azzurro. Follow the coastline rather than spending time searching the hotel rooms; the sampling point is outdoors on the shoreline. Approach the marked patch of ground and use the quest interaction when it appears. ARC Raiders Battening Down uses a sample objective, not an instruction to gather an ordinary recyclable item from loot crates. You do not need the hotel-room keycard before sampling. If the beach is contested, clear the immediate route or return from another angle before committing to the interaction.

Repair the northeast oil pipe
The final environmental problem is a leaking pipe in the northeastern part of Riven Tides. Travel up along the coastal industrial area and look for the pipe section leaking oil. Interact with its repair point and remain there until the progress finishes. The description is about fixing one particular quest pipe, not gathering Oil at a supply container or repairing an Outpost module. Once the repair registers, check all three objective ticks before heading towards extraction. ARC Raiders Battening Down is complete when the quest tracker confirms the photo, sample and pipe.
Which equipment you actually need
A Basic Camera is important for the updated photo requirement. Bring ordinary healing and ammunition because Riven Tides has Wasps, Fireflies and other threats along exposed routes. There’s no confirmed need to carry an ARC Alloy to fix Apollo’s oil pipe: that’s for the separate Shoring Up Defenses quest involving a crane. Don’t mix their preparation lists. If you plan to complete both jobs in one visit, then take one ARC Alloy for the crane and keep it safe until that interaction.
A route that doesn’t waste a raid
The seawall and the hotel beach belong to the same general coastal side of Riven Tides, so photograph the concrete first, then move down to the shore to sample it. Continue towards the northeast for the oil repair and choose a nearby open extraction after that. If you spawn closer to the oil pipe, reverse the route; the objectives don’t require a particular order. ARC Raiders Battening Down doesn’t demand fighting three different elite ARC enemies, which makes it manageable with a budget loadout so long as you keep moving.
Rewards and the April quest connection
Hand the finished mission to Apollo in Speranza. The listed rewards are the Riven Tides Hotel Keycard No. 107 and three Smoke Grenade Traps. The keycard is worth keeping for later hotel exploration rather than selling it by mistake. ARC Raiders Battening Down originally arrived with the April Riven Tides update, alongside Shoring Up Defenses. Both remain useful quests to finish, but they’re not among the entirely new Frozen Trail missions added on October 8.

When the photograph or repair will not count
Check you’re photographing the quest’s actual seawall cracks, not any damaged waterfront structure. On a current game version, use the camera where the quest expects one. For the beach, follow the quest indicator until the sample interaction appears at the shoreline; walking into the hotel’s lobby won’t count. At the oil pipe, wait for the repair interaction to finish before moving off. If ARC Raiders Battening Down still shows an unfinished objective, compare its exact wording with your journal rather than repeating steps from an older pre-camera guide.
