ARC Raiders Flame Spray buff in Update 2.3.0 raises its fire damage from 10 to 13 per second while reducing durability drain by 50%. The same October 27 patch makes Firefly Burner activate when thrown, without having to shoot the device afterwards.
The ARC Raiders Flame Spray buff is best for sustained fire: it deals more damage and lasts longer before wearing out. Firefly Burner’s change makes it easier to use under pressure. The patch also stops Flame Spray fire from passing through walls.
ARC Raiders Flame Spray buff: damage changes

The listed fire damage increases from 10 to 13 per second, a 30% boost to the base damage rate. Keep your spray on a target and you’ll deal more fire damage over the same time than before the patch.
The ARC Raiders Flame Spray buff also halves the rate at which the item wears down. Its maximum durability hasn’t been increased; you can simply spray for longer before consuming the same amount of durability. That makes it easier to maintain fire during a lengthy encounter.
How the ARC Raiders Flame Spray buff affects durability
Previously, keeping the spray going could use up durability quickly. With the new drain rate, sustained attacks take less of a toll. There is no announced change to the crafting recipe, so the improvement is about combat performance rather than a different set of materials.
If you’ve been saving Flame Spray for short emergencies, try giving it a longer window in your loadout. The ARC Raiders Flame Spray buff is particularly useful when you can keep a target in front of you without wasting the fire against cover.
Flame Spray can no longer fire through walls
Update 2.3 also fixes an issue where Flame Spray fire could travel through a wall. After the fix, you need a clear route for the fire to reach the target instead of using a solid wall to hit an enemy on the other side. The damage increase remains, but the collision exploit is gone.
In enclosed rooms, look for an opening instead of relying on the old wall bug. The ARC Raiders Flame Spray buff makes direct attacks stronger; solid cover should block the flames as intended.
Firefly Burner now activates on impact

Firefly Burner used to need an extra step. You threw it and then shot it to vent fire. With Update 2.3, impact activates the throwable automatically. The Burner continues moving, leaves a burning trail and explodes after around three seconds.
You can concentrate on where the Burner lands instead of having to shoot it after the throw. The fire starts on impact and the explosion follows around three seconds later. This is an activation change, while the ARC Raiders Flame Spray buff is the one with the confirmed damage increase.
How to use Firefly Burner after the update
Throw the Firefly Burner towards the area you want to cover. It ignites when it makes contact, keeps moving and leaves a trail of fire before exploding. Remember the short delay: the impact starts the burn but isn’t the final blast.
Firefly Burner is the throwable item associated with the Firefly ARC machine. The patch describes how the item behaves after being thrown, not a change to the machine’s attack pattern. Check the name of the item in your quick-use inventory before following the steps above.
Other equipment changes in Update 2.3.0
Heavy Shield base charge went from 80 to 90, and Adrenaline Shot can now be used even when stamina is already full. Further shots refresh the effect rather than stacking it. For the wider equipment and gameplay fixes, our ARC Raiders Update 2.3.0 guide covers the official patch notes.
With the ARC Raiders Flame Spray buff, you get stronger, longer-lasting fire. Firefly Burner is easier to deploy, with its own impact-triggered burn and delayed explosion. Both changes arrived in Update 2.3.0.
