Feast of the New Moon has seven story acts in Identity V’s 2026 Halloween event, each paying 10 Ghost Sandwiches when completed. The full story earns 70 sandwiches and the Feast of the New Moon room music. All seven chapters are available now, and the event closes on November 4.
You follow a cooking competition set in a haunted wilderness, with the Witch bringing the chefs into her unusual kitchen. The dialogue choices lead to different endings, but every ending pays the same rewards. If you’re catching up during the final week, the story is a straightforward way to collect a guaranteed chunk of event currency.

Each completed chapter adds 10 sandwiches to your total. Act 1 puts you on 10, Act 2 takes you to 20, and so on until Act 7 takes you to 70. The room music is earned after finishing the whole seven-part story, so don’t stop once you’ve collected the currency for the sixth chapter.
The story chapters were introduced across seven days after the October 22 event launch. They’re now all available to complete. You can work through missed acts in order rather than having to wait for another daily unlock.
How to complete the seven story acts
Open the Feast of the New Moon event in Identity V and choose its Story Experience section. Start with the earliest unfinished act, read through the cooking story and make your dialogue choices. Once the chapter is complete, collect the reward and move to the next available act.
The important bit is finishing the act itself. You do not have to win a match, clear Secret Brew or create the Ghost Parfait to receive a chapter’s 10 sandwiches. Those activities have their own rewards elsewhere in the event. If you’ve been spending your playtime in matches, Story Experience is worth visiting separately for the guaranteed currency.
Work from Act 1 through Act 7 rather than jumping straight to the final. The closing chapter concludes the cooking competition and brings the story’s ending into view. Once you’ve finished it, you should have received the full story’s 70 Ghost Sandwiches and its room music reward.
Which story choices give the best rewards?
Every choice gives the same items. The decisions you make during the Feast of the New Moon story change the ending, not the Ghost Sandwich payouts or the completion music. Pick whichever dialogue you like, whether you’re leaning into the strange cooking contest or the characters you meet along the way.
There is no special reward for engineering a particular ending. If your goal is earning the Midnight Gourmand costume, the entire story is worth finishing regardless of the route you take. The 70-sandwich total is fixed across all seven acts.
How to claim the Feast of the New Moon room music
The Feast of the New Moon room music is the additional reward for completing the entire story, not an exchange-shop purchase. Finish Acts 1 to 7 and collect the completion reward from Story Experience. It’s separate from the Ghost Sandwiches you earn on each individual chapter.
Because each act has a currency reward, you can start spending sandwiches before the story is finished. Just remember that buying something in the exchange shop doesn’t count as completing Story Experience. Go back for any outstanding chapters if you want the room music as well as the cosmetics.
How the story rewards fit into the Halloween shop
The 70 Ghost Sandwiches from story acts can be put towards Puppeteer’s A-rarity Midnight Gourmand costume, Fool’s Gold’s B-rarity Night Cook costume, Survivor’s Crescent Elixir accessory, the Pumpkin Party portrait frame, and the Expectation and Refuse stickers.
You can earn additional Ghost Sandwiches through matches, with a separate combat pool of 140 across the event. Secret Brew pays up to 10 a day from new puzzle stages. These sources sit alongside the story rewards, so completing the seven acts doesn’t stop you earning currency from gameplay.
The deadline for all seven acts
Feast of the New Moon ends on November 4, 2026 at 23:59. Complete any missing story chapters and redeem your Ghost Sandwiches before the event closes. Leftover sandwiches convert to Clues at a rate of two Clues for every one sandwich.
The Halloween Spyglass shop stays open until November 11, but that’s a different shop and a different currency. Its later closing date does not extend the seven story acts or their limited-time Ghost Sandwich exchanges.
