Identity V Secret Brew: How to Solve Colour Sorting Puzzles

Identity V Double Daily Rewards

Secret Brew is the liquid-sorting puzzle in Identity V’s Feast of the New Moon event. To win, move coloured liquid between cups until each finished cup holds just one colour. Clearing new stages gives Ghost Sandwiches, with a daily maximum of 10 from the minigame.

The aim is simple: group the visible top colours into cups that can still receive liquid. Every successful pour changes which colours are exposed, so check the new top layer before your next move. The same approach works throughout Secret Brew.

Select the cup you want to pour from, then select the receiving cup. The top liquid in the receiving cup must match the colour of the liquid you’re moving, and it cannot already be full. For instance, a purple top layer can go into a cup with purple exposed on top and room remaining. It cannot be poured onto a cup with yellow on top.

A cup is finished when it is full of one colour. Complete all the cups to clear the stage. That means you want to combine matching layers, not just move liquid for the sake of making space.

Begin with colours already showing on top

Before moving anything, scan the tops of all the cups for matching colours. If two cups have the same colour showing and one has room to receive more, that pair gives you a valid opening move. Follow the newly exposed layers after each pour rather than continuing to pour automatically.

The next layer can completely change your options. When a purple layer is moved away and red appears underneath, look again for another cup topped with red. Working with colours you can currently see is much easier than trying to plan around layers you haven’t exposed.

Watch the free space in each cup

Before filling a cup, check whether the next matching layer can go into it. A full cup can’t accept more liquid. If you’re close to completing one colour, finish that cup before tying up the remaining space with mixed layers.

As soon as a cup is filled with one colour, leave it alone and work on the unfinished colours. Watch the newly exposed layers after every move; two previously blocked matching colours may become available together.

What to try when there is no matching move

When you run out of obvious matches, look for moves that expose the same colour beneath two different top layers. One transfer can open up the next few. If your latest pours have filled the receiving cups without completing any colour, try the earlier moves in another order.

You can play Secret Brew again as often as you like. Treat an awkward layout as a chance to try a different opening, rather than repeating a sequence that leaves all the cups blocked.

How to earn 10 Ghost Sandwiches daily

Secret Brew awards the event currency for clearing new stages, up to 10 Ghost Sandwiches each day. You can keep playing after reaching that amount, but the daily payout will not continue increasing. This is a daily currency cap, not an attempt limit.

Ghost Sandwiches also come from the event’s seven story acts, worth 10 each, and from qualifying matches, with a combat reward pool of 140. The puzzle is worth doing before a longer match session because it provides a separate earning route. All of those sandwiches can then go towards Puppeteer’s Midnight Gourmand costume and the other event shop cosmetics.

Does Secret Brew have one fixed colour sequence?

A Secret Brew stage is solved by its current cup arrangement, not by entering a colour code. Match the liquid showing at the tops, keep room for the next pour and build towards complete single-colour cups. The available moves change as each layer is uncovered.

If you’re following a screenshot or a walkthrough, compare the opening cups before copying a move. A move that works when a purple layer is on top won’t work with a different colour showing. Use the visible colours in your own stage as your guide.

Secret Brew event deadline

The Feast of the New Moon closes on November 4, 2026 at 23:59. Spend the Ghost Sandwiches you earn before that point. When the event ends, unused sandwiches convert into Clues at a ratio of two Clues per sandwich.

The separate Halloween Spyglass shop remains open until November 11, but those items use Spyglasses rather than the minigame’s Ghost Sandwiches. Finish Secret Brew and make any Feast of the New Moon exchanges within the earlier event window.
