Warframe Exilus Adapters unlock a utility Mod slot on a Warframe or weapon. The Exilus Warframe Adapter applies to a frame; the Exilus Weapon Adapter applies to a Primary or Secondary weapon. They are different items and aren’t interchangeable.
Both types can drop from the October 31 Twitch stream’s reward pool. Here are their normal acquisition routes, the quest requirements, how to install one and why your Exilus Mod might still need more capacity after the slot is unlocked.

Warframe Exilus Adapters: How to get the Warframe version
Finishing the Natah quest gives you one fully built Exilus Warframe Adapter. After that quest, Cephalon Simaris sells its blueprint for 50,000 Standing. Craft the blueprint in the Foundry whenever you need another copy.
Built Warframe Adapters can also come from Sorties, Archon Hunts, Nightwave rewards and some login milestones. Acrithis can sell one for 20 Pathos Clamps when it appears in her rotating Duviri wares.
The Market sells a ready-to-use Exilus Warframe Adapter for 20 Platinum. Buying the built item avoids the Foundry wait; buying Simaris’ blueprint means you still need to craft it. Check your Inventory before spending currency.
Warframe Exilus Adapters: How to get the Weapon version
Digital Extremes introduced Weapon Exilus Adapters in The Old Blood. Their blueprints can be bought from the six main Syndicates or earned by opening the retired Requiem I, II, III or IV relics. Palladino sells these older relics for Riven Slivers at Iron Wake. The Market offers an Adapter for Platinum.
Don’t farm Requiem Eterna for the Weapon Adapter. Update 42 replaced the old Requiem relics in normal drop tables, and Eterna contains only Requiem Mods. For the Adapter blueprint, use the main Syndicates or retired Requiem I to IV relics. It opens a Primary or Secondary weapon utility slot, not a Stance or Aura slot.
Both Warframe Exilus Adapters are consumed when used, and each unlock applies only to the equipment you select. One Adapter does not unlock the entire Arsenal.
Warframe Exilus Adapters: How to install one
In the Arsenal, select the Warframe or eligible weapon, open Upgrade and select its locked Exilus slot. With the matching Adapter available, confirm the fuse prompt to open that one slot permanently.
You can then equip an eligible Exilus Mod. However, an unlocked slot does not increase Mod Capacity. You may still need an Orokin Reactor or Catalyst, more levels or a correctly matched polarity to fit the Mod.

Why is my Exilus slot still locked or unusable?
Check your Adapter name first. A Weapon Adapter cannot open a Warframe Exilus slot and the Warframe version cannot open a weapon slot. If the slot is open but the Mod won’t go in, check whether it is actually eligible for the Exilus position.
When the message says there isn’t enough capacity, the problem is your current Mod loadout. Warframe Exilus Adapters provide a position for a utility Mod, not free capacity points.
The October 31 Twitch Drop at 4 PM GMT offers either Exilus type as a possible 30-minute reward, alongside eight other items. The prize is drawn from the pool, so you aren’t guaranteed your preferred Adapter. Our reward guide lists the full pool.
Use Warframe Exilus Adapters on equipment you plan to keep playing, ideally when you’ve already selected the utility Mod that will occupy the new slot.
