Fortnite Tournament Entry Requirements change between cups. Epic requires players to have 2FA, the eligible age and an account in good standing, while FNCS and many cash competitions also require account level 350. FNCS players need to have entered 14 different Epic tournaments in the past 180 days. Other cups may only require level 50.
Seeing a cup in the Compete tab doesn’t automatically make you eligible. Each tournament can add a rank requirement, regional restriction, platform rule or earlier qualification cutoff. Here’s which checks are universal and which depend on the individual event.
Fortnite Tournament Entry Requirements: Age, 2FA and levels
| Rule | Where it applies |
|---|---|
| Age 13+, local minimum may be higher | All Epic competitive events |
| 2FA and good account standing | All Epic competitive events |
| Account level 350 | FNCS, Cash Cups, Performance Evaluations |
| Account level 50 | Other eligible events such as Cosmetic and Console Cups, unless rules state otherwise |
| 14 distinct Epic tournaments in 180 days | FNCS and other designated events |
| Specific Ranked, PR or qualifying position | Depends on tournament-specific rules |
The minimum tournament age is 13 or the higher local age if required. Minors need a parent or guardian’s consent. A Cabined Account can’t be used to compete. Two-factor authentication must be enabled on the Epic account, and competitive sanctions can also prevent entry.

Fortnite Tournament Entry Requirements: Check your account level
Open Fortnite’s Career tab to find your cumulative account level. This isn’t your season level or Battle Pass progress. FNCS, Cash Cups and Performance Evaluations require level 350 under the current Master Rules. Many other cups, including cosmetic competitions, have a baseline of level 50, unless their own rules say differently.
If your Career level is high enough but a cup remains locked, it may be a missing Ranked division, qualifying placement, Power Ranking or tournament-history requirement. Our account level and season level guide explains the two kinds of level.
Which tournaments count towards the 14-event requirement?
Epic counts 14 distinct tournaments within 180 days. Fourteen matches in one Cup aren’t fourteen tournament appearances, and playing different rounds or regions of the same event doesn’t make it count multiple times. Epic suggests Ranked Cups, OG Cups and Mobile Series to build a qualifying history.
Not every Fortnite Tournament Entry Requirements checklist includes the 14-cup rule. It’s important for FNCS and other specified higher-level competitions. Always open the event’s individual rules before deciding whether you need to build that history.

Fortnite Tournament Entry Requirements: Is Unreal necessary?
Not by default. Some cups require a certain Ranked division, while others use an overall Power Ranking cutoff. FNCS Solos Reload in November 2026 requires the top 200,000 Global PR, for example. That is not the same as Unreal Rank and isn’t a universal threshold for all Fortnite tournaments.
Battle Royale Ranked, Zero Build Ranked and Reload Ranked also have separate progression, so reaching a division in one mode doesn’t automatically satisfy another event’s specific requirement. See our Global PR explainer for the rating system.
Fortnite Tournament Entry Requirements met but the cup is locked?
Click the lock icon on the tournament card in Compete and inspect its Details. Epic says it shows the missing requirement. If you’re eligible and the tile still won’t work, official advice is to try a Ranked match to refresh eligibility, choose the event from the Compete tab, or select it through Play, By Epic in mode selection.
On a Windows PC, competitions requiring level 350 can also need TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. “System requirements failed” may relate to those security prerequisites rather than your Fortnite skill or account. Follow Epic and your PC manufacturer’s instructions if changing firmware settings is involved.
Fortnite Tournament Entry Requirements: Joining the cup
In the Compete tab, open the event card and confirm the region, date and session time. Select the matching tournament playlist under Play, Mode Selection, By Epic when the round starts. For Duos or Squads tournaments, every teammate must be eligible.
The Fortnite Tournament Entry Requirements shown in the in-game card and Epic’s rules library determine access. For a current example, our FNCS Solos Reload qualification guide covers the November event’s PR cutoff and round-by-round entry restrictions.
