Heavyweight Fishing Islands take you from the beginner fishing waters to later areas where stronger rods are needed to land the biggest catches. The main progression route begins on Beginning Isle and leads through Bamboo, Fallout, Sovereign, Perch, Frost, Coconut and Amber Isle.
Each island has its own fish, sellers and equipment upgrades. Buying a rod with enough Power is the key to fishing in later areas, so it’s worth checking your stats before you set out. Some additional islands are used for bosses and skills rather than ordinary rod shopping.
Heavyweight Fishing Islands and Power requirements
The eight main Heavyweight Fishing Islands have increasing recommended Power requirements. Beginning Isle doesn’t require any extra Power, while Amber Isle sits at the end of the main route and requires 75 Power to catch fish there. If your rod isn’t strong enough, you’ll need to upgrade before the next area’s catches become accessible.

| Island | Power needed | Why visit? |
|---|---|---|
| Beginning Isle | None | Starter rods and important NPCs |
| Bamboo Isle | 19 | Early rod upgrades and skills |
| Fallout Isle | 32 | Golden Rod and Enzo boss |
| Sovereign Isle | 39 | Grandmaster rods |
| Perch Isle | 48 | Spine rods and special fish |
| Frost Isle | 55 | Gravity rods |
| Coconut Isle | 65 | Thorn rods |
| Amber Isle | 75 | Starlight Rod and late-game fish |
Those are the fishing requirements used by current island guides. When you’re exploring Heavyweight Fishing Islands, you can often travel to an area before your rod is ready to catch every fish there, so don’t mistake the Power figure for a guaranteed boat-travel lock. Check the local fishing information and the rod you’re carrying when a catch refuses to progress.
Beginning Isle and Bamboo Isle
Beginning Isle is where Heavyweight Fishing Islands progression starts. You’ll find the first rod seller and introductory NPCs such as Nanjiang, who handles Trait Rerolls, and Sage Yijiu, who is associated with skills. The beginner rods are inexpensive, with Bamboo Rod costing 100 Cash and Enchanted Steel Rod 2,000 Cash.
Bamboo Isle is the next major step, with a 19-Power fishing requirement. Its seller offers stronger gear, including the Shadow Rod at 60,000 Cash. The area is also associated with thunderstorm weather and a quest chain involving Giang Lao, making it useful beyond simply buying a new rod.
Fallout Isle and Sovereign Isle
Fallout Isle requires 32 Power for fishing and has affordable mid-progression equipment, including the Triple Steel and Golden rods. It also hosts Enzo, a much tougher boss associated with Level 1000 players. Reaching the island doesn’t mean you’re ready to fight Enzo immediately.
Sovereign Isle is next at 39 Power and sells the Grandmaster rod line. Grandmaster Golden offers 45 Power and 30 Luck, while later rods carry larger price tags. If you’ve been using the Golden Rod from Fallout, this is an important place to compare upgrades before moving into the higher-cost islands.
Perch Isle and Frost Isle
Perch Isle is listed at 48 Power and features stronger Spine rods. It’s also tied to the Flying Fish Emperor and Flying Fish Empress, which are useful later when crafting Heaven Piercer. Windy weather is especially relevant when you’re looking for those special catches.
Frost Isle requires 55 Power and sells Inferno Gravity Rod and Cryo Gravity Rod. Inferno Gravity costs 7 million Cash, while Cryo Gravity costs 8 million and also needs the seller’s quest. The second option has more Luck, so it’s worth completing the task when you reach this stage.
Heavyweight Fishing Islands: Coconut and Amber Isle
Coconut Isle raises the fishing requirement to 65 Power and sells Thunder Thorn and Soul Thorn. Its weather and fish are important to late-game crafting, including the Heavenpiercer Turtle during foggy conditions. At this stage, the balance between Power and Luck becomes more noticeable.
Amber Isle is the last of the eight main Heavyweight Fishing Islands in the current progression route, with a 75-Power fishing requirement. The Starlight Rod is sold here for 60 million Cash, and rarer fish make it a useful destination once your equipment can handle the area.
Heavyweight Fishing Islands: are there more than eight?
Yes. Some current location guides also list Battlefield Isle and Mistpeak Isle outside the eight-island rod-buying progression route. Battlefield Isle is associated with late-game skills and important NPCs, while Mistpeak is linked to the Mountain Fish and its Mountain Flip drop.
Those two locations serve different purposes from the regular sequence of islands with progressively stronger rod sellers. If you’re looking for the next shop upgrade, stay on the eight-island route; if you’re working on a high-level skill or a rare fish, the additional areas become more relevant.
Best Heavyweight Fishing Islands progression route
Plan your island route around the Power of the rod you’re carrying. Start on Beginning Isle, upgrade on Bamboo and Fallout, then use Sovereign and Perch to prepare for the more demanding Frost and Coconut catches.
Once your rod reaches the required Power for Amber Isle, you can begin working on its rarer fish and larger purchases. Along the way, keep track of quest-gated rods and crafting catches so you don’t have to backtrack across several islands after reaching the endgame.
