Warframe Icebind Frozen Keys are the reward keys for The Icebind, Warframe’s six-player missions introduced on October 7, 2026. Completing a mission awards one Crested Frozen Key, and successful optional objectives can add up to three regular Frozen Keys. You spend both types on chests in Melica’s Glacial Laboratory after the fight.
The Crested Chest offers the largest Kuva rolls and its own pool of Rivens, Forma and Archon Shards. The extra Frozen Chests are tempting too, but collecting their keys means taking on difficult squad objectives. Starting one and failing it can end the entire mission, so there’s a point where more loot isn’t worth risking a successful clear.
How to get Warframe Icebind Frozen Keys
First, unlock Icebind by finishing Angels of the Zariman and Whispers in the Walls and unlocking either Elite Temporal Archimedea or Elite Deep Archimedea. You don’t have to complete the Elite mode; unlocking it meets the requirement.
At Yuvan Peak, collect a Cryobell from the ice pillar and speak to Cephalon Melica to create your six-player squad. There’s no public matchmaking at launch and the team cannot contain duplicate Warframes. Three Cryobells become available each Sunday at 00:00 UTC, with a maximum of six stored.
Finish an Icebind mission to receive your Crested Frozen Key and a guaranteed Riven Splicer. These don’t require optional objectives. A Cryobell isn’t consumed unless the mission ends in a successful extraction.

Warframe Icebind Frozen Keys: all five side objectives
Regular Warframe Icebind Frozen Keys come from purple-marked Squad Side Objectives. Up to three appear in a mission and each successful one gives the squad a Frozen Key. The five challenges are Lockbox (collect enemy Cyphers), Cryothermia (hold a damaging Cryo Core), Indomitable Ice (charge crystals with weapon fire), Entropy Orb (stand near an orb and survive its pulses) and Signal Chain (connect a beam between two points).
Before anyone presses Start, gather the required number of teammates nearby. The purple marker alone doesn’t activate the task. Once started, the challenge must succeed within its time limit or the entire Icebind mission fails. Hotfix 44.1.1 also removed the ability to throw the Cryo Core, so older Cryothermia strategies involving throwing it between players won’t work.
Where to use Warframe Icebind Frozen Keys in the laboratory
After the mission, everyone is transported to Melica’s Glacial Laboratory. The Crested Frozen Chests are in the centre; ordinary Frozen Chests line the outer edges. Open the centre chest with the guaranteed Crested Key, then use each regular Frozen Key you earned on an outer chest.
If you completed no side objectives, you still get the Crested Chest reward and your Riven Splicer. You won’t have extra Frozen Chests to open. Your first successful Icebind clear also awards a Cryobell Sumdali before you leave.
Warframe Icebind Frozen Keys: normal Frozen Chest rewards
Each regular Frozen Chest gives one Kuva payout of 1,750, 3,500 or 7,500, followed by an additional reward roll. The confirmed extra items are Forma, 200 Vosfor, a three-day Affinity, Credit, Resource or Resource Drop Chance Booster, a Melee, Pistol, Rifle or Shotgun Riven Mod, or an Azure, Crimson or Amber Archon Shard.
Opening three chests doesn’t triple a single Kuva roll. Each chest has its own payout and reward, which is why earning all three Warframe Icebind Frozen Keys can noticeably improve a run. It still won’t guarantee a particular Riven or Archon Shard.

Crested Frozen Chest rewards in Warframe Icebind Frozen Keys
The guaranteed Crested Chest pays one of 7,500, 17,500 or 100,000 Kuva. Its additional reward pool includes a Riven Transmuter, Veiled Riven Cipher, Omni Forma, Forma Bundle, Melee, Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Archgun or Companion Weapon Riven Mod, or an Azure, Crimson or Amber Archon Shard.
You won’t receive 100,000 Kuva every clear. It’s a possible Crested Chest roll, not the guaranteed amount. The Riven Splicer, however, is awarded for completing the mission itself, regardless of which chest prizes you receive.
Can dying cost you Warframe Icebind Frozen Keys?
Yes. After you’ve remained dead for three minutes, you stop receiving Frozen Keys from side objectives completed while you’re dead. Reviving someone requires teammates to use the Tombstone left at their death location and sacrifice some health. Normal self-revives aren’t available once a Tenno has bled out.
If your squad is chasing Warframe Icebind Frozen Keys, revive fallen teammates before starting another optional challenge. Otherwise, all three objectives might be completed but someone could still finish with fewer keys. That’s especially painful when the group has been fighting level 999+ enemies for the entire mission.
Are extra Warframe Icebind Frozen Keys worth farming?
A coordinated squad can leave with one Crested Key and three regular keys, opening four reward chests altogether. If the Binds are punishing or the team is already struggling, secure the main completion instead of starting another timed side objective. You’ll still earn the Crested Chest, your Riven Splicer and, on your first clear, the Cryobell Sumdali.
