Warframe The Icebind is a six-player challenge mode introduced on October 7, 2026. To unlock it, complete Angels of the Zariman and Whispers in the Walls, then unlock either Elite Deep Archimedea or Elite Temporal Archimedea. You don’t have to finish an Elite Archimedea mission just to qualify.
The activity starts at Yuvan’s Peak, where six players use Cryobells to vote on a randomly generated mission. There is no public matchmaking, duplicate Warframes aren’t allowed and enemies start at level 999. Here’s how to unlock your first run, handle the side objectives and earn Riven Splicers and Frozen Chests.
Warframe The Icebind unlock requirements

You need both story quests and access to one Elite Archimedea variant. Being able to visit Yuvan’s Peak isn’t enough on its own: the Relay unlocks after the story quests, while the Icebind missions have the additional Elite Archimedea gate. See our Yuvan’s Peak guide if the Relay isn’t on your Star Chart.
Where to get Cryobells
Travel to the Relay on the dark side of Earth and visit the ice pillar at the top. Three Cryobells become available each week at the Sunday midnight UTC reset. You can keep up to six at once, so unused bells can carry into another week.
Every key has a random mission, planet, enemy faction and restrictions. Your own bell applies a Personal Bind, even if the squad votes for someone else’s mission. Read those modifiers carefully before committing to a run of Warframe The Icebind.
Warframe The Icebind: starting your first mission

- Collect at least one Cryobell from the ice pillar.
- Speak with Cephalon Melica and choose Ring a Cryobell.
- Invite five other players and make sure all six have selected bells.
- Choose six different Warframes; duplicates cannot enter.
- Vote on the mission setup, then complete the objective and reach Melica’s Glacial Laboratory.
The host creates the party through Melica’s screen. After the October 8 hotfix, the host can start the voting timer or it begins once three players have voted. The mission can be Survival, Mobile Defense, Excavation or Disruption, and typically lasts around 10–15 minutes.
What do the Icebind Binds do?
Enemies begin at level 999 and restrictions may strengthen opponents, increase gear cooldowns or prevent normal self-revival. Your Personal Bind applies to you regardless of the selected team mission. The toughest part of Warframe The Icebind isn’t simply dealing damage; it’s coordinating a squad under several simultaneous conditions.
All five side objectives
Up to three Squad Side Objectives can appear per mission. Players must activate one with the Start prompt before attempting it, and failing an activated side objective can fail the mission. Agree as a team before starting any of these challenges.
| Objective | How to complete it |
|---|---|
| Lockbox | Bring Cyphers dropped by enemies to the Lockbox |
| Cryothermia | Carry the Cryo Core while withstanding its escalating health damage |
| Indomitable Ice | Fire on ice crystals to charge them |
| Entropy Orb | Gather near the orb and dodge its damaging pulses |
| Signal Chain | Connect a beam of energy between points using teammates |
Warframe The Icebind chest rewards and Riven Splicers
Successful missions guarantee one Riven Splicer, another mission reward and a Crested Key for the main chest in Melica’s Glacial Laboratory. Completing side objectives gives up to three extra Frozen Keys, each opening an additional Frozen Chest.
Crested Chests award 7,500, 17,500 or 100,000 Kuva plus an item from their reward pool. Frozen Chests award 1,750, 3,500 or 7,500 Kuva plus an item. Rivens, Forma, boosters and Archon Shards are among the possible extras, depending on chest type. These are possible values, not guaranteed maximum payouts.
Your first successful completion of Warframe The Icebind also earns a Cryobell Sumdali. Cryobells are only spent on successful extraction, so an unsuccessful mission doesn’t consume your key. For what to do with the guaranteed Splicer, see our Riven Trait Locking and Splicing guide.
Why can’t you start The Icebind?
First check the Elite Archimedea unlock, not just whether Yuvan’s Peak is visible. Then collect a Cryobell and speak to Melica through the correct menu. A full six-player squad is required, everybody must choose a bell, and two players can’t bring the same Warframe. There is no public matchmaking at launch.
If you’re trying to enter Warframe The Icebind with friends, use the Cryobell party interface rather than an ordinary mission queue. Check that all six players are ready before voting on any randomized Binds.
Related Guides
For the first Warframe The Icebind run, clear both story quests, unlock an Elite Archimedea, collect your weekly bells and form a coordinated six-player squad. The guaranteed Splicer is earned for completing the mission, while optional side objectives open more chests if your team can handle the extra risk.
