Disney Dreamlight Valley Haunted Library is one of the new puzzles inside the Haunted Mansion for the 2026 Haunted Floating Festival, and it’s easy to end up carrying a strange book without knowing where it belongs. There are four missing books to move between the mansion’s shelves. Each time you return one to the right place, the next book appears somewhere nearby, so you can finish the entire challenge by following one connected route.
The locked bedroom is where the puzzle begins, but opening the door requires completing the Haunted Key challenge first. Once you’re inside, the books send you through the front room, hallway and storage room before bringing you back to the bedroom. There’s also a picture puzzle waiting at the end, so putting away the last book isn’t quite the finish line.

Here’s the complete Disney Dreamlight Valley Haunted Library book order. If you’ve already moved one or two, pick up from the next row rather than returning to the first room. The shelf names can help you recognise the right interaction when several pieces of furniture look similar.

How to start the Disney Dreamlight Valley Haunted Library puzzle
Travel to the Haunted Floating Festival island through the portal in the Plaza or the Event tab, then enter the Haunted Mansion. If the bedroom door at the end of the hallway is still locked, you’ll need to find two Haunted Key Fragments, craft the Repaired Haunted Key and use it on the door. Once the bedroom is open, enter and look for a sparkling book near the bookshelf in the back-left part of the room. Pick it up. This is Boo! The Big Book of Bat Facts, your starting point for the library’s chain of missing books.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Haunted Library missing books: step-by-step solution
1. Take Boo! The Big Book of Bat Facts to the front room
With the bat book in your inventory, walk out of the bedroom and follow the hallway back to the mansion’s entrance room. Look for the sparkling bookshelf named Frightful Fauna Library Shelf. Its prompt asks whether a book about animals fits there. Interact with it and return Boo! The Big Book of Bat Facts.
A new book, Frightening Flowers, appears nearby after you’ve filled that gap. Pick it up before leaving the front room. You won’t need to hunt through the house for all four books at once; the next one appears as you solve each shelf.
2. Put Frightening Flowers on the hallway shelf
Head back into the hallway toward the bedroom. Find the sparkling Fearsome Flora Library Shelf, which asks for a book about flowers. Place Frightening Flowers there, then collect The Chilling Cosmos when it appears nearby. This is the point where the Disney Dreamlight Valley Haunted Library puzzle starts sending you away from the main corridor.
3. Return The Chilling Cosmos to the storage room
Go into the storage room on the left side of the mansion’s entrance. Look for the Abominable Astronomy Library Shelf; the clue asks for a book about space. Interact with it while carrying The Chilling Cosmos. After placing the book, look for Terrifying Tunes on the floor nearby and pick it up.
The storage room also contains red chests used for the earlier Haunted Key puzzle. They aren’t part of this book exchange, so you can ignore them now if you already have access to the bedroom.
4. Bring Terrifying Tunes back to the bedroom
Return through the entrance and hallway to the bedroom. Go back to the sparkling shelf where the first book appeared. It’s the Monstrous Music Library Shelf, and its clue mentions a missing music book. Place Terrifying Tunes by Major Frite on the shelf.
That completes the four-book route for Disney Dreamlight Valley Haunted Library, but a Memory Orb now appears beside the shelf. Make sure you collect and open it. The puzzle reward is tied to completing the memory, not just returning the final book.
How to solve the Haunted Library Memory Orb puzzle
Interact with the purple Memory Orb to open a Reorder Story puzzle. You’ll see sections of an illustrated memory that need arranging into one picture. Move the pieces into their matching positions and rotate them until the image fits together. Use the edges of the artwork and the lines between neighbouring pieces to work out which way each section belongs.
Once the image is complete, the Disney Dreamlight Valley Haunted Library challenge finishes and you receive the Chomping Chest furniture reward. If your event checklist still shows the library as incomplete after placing all four books, the Memory Orb is the next thing to check.
What comes after the Disney Dreamlight Valley Haunted Library?
The completed memory is also useful for the separate Release the Curse puzzle inside the same bedroom. The illustrated story provides clues to the order of symbols needed for the combination puzzle, which leads to the Lost Magic Page and Decorative Magic Seal reward. You can also search the bedroom for the Eerie Basement Door Key and open the hidden basement entrance outside.
Gameloft made the Haunted Mansion’s first new challenges available on 7 October 2026, so the Disney Dreamlight Valley Haunted Library can be completed now. The separate Ghost Hunt arrives on 18 October, and the Haunted Floating Festival ends on 31 October. You don’t have to wait for Ghost Hunt to complete the books or claim the Chomping Chest.
