Phasmophobia Double XP Event: End Time and Rewards

Phasmophobia Double XP event sixth anniversary official artwork

The Phasmophobia Double XP event returns from October 15 to October 22, 2026 as part of the Crimson Eye Halloween celebration. Kinetic Games has confirmed double XP and rewards from completed investigations during that period, replacing the earlier September 18–21 anniversary promotion.

If you missed the anniversary bonus last month, there’s another chance to earn more from your ghost hunts. The new dates are part of Crimson Eye, which runs October 8 to November 1, and you don’t need to unlock an anniversary charm or finish a seasonal reward track to qualify for the announced investigation bonus.

Kinetic Games has scheduled the Phasmophobia Double XP event for Thursday, October 15 through Thursday, October 22. Its announcement doesn’t specify an exact universal start or end hour, so check the current bonus in-game if you’re playing near either boundary rather than assuming the event changes over at midnight in your own timezone.

These October dates apply to the Phasmophobia Double XP event during Crimson Eye. They aren’t an extension of the sixth-anniversary event, which ended in September with its own Twitch Drop and four-day double-reward window.

What XP and rewards are doubled?

Kinetic’s wording is straightforward: all rewards from completed investigations are doubled during the announced window. The developer refers to Double XP and Rewards, rather than a separate Halloween currency multiplier or a bonus limited to one special map.

For the Phasmophobia Double XP event, complete the ghost investigation rather than abandoning contracts halfway through. You can choose maps and difficulties your group is comfortable with, identify the ghost and finish optional objectives where it’s safe to do so. The bonus applies to the end-of-investigation rewards, not merely to entering a haunted location.

Do you need to activate the Double XP bonus?

No separate activation quest is listed in Kinetic Games’ announcement. Once the event begins on October 15, the additional XP and rewards are described as an event-wide modifier for completed investigations. That is different from the Crimson Eye points you earn towards Halloween cosmetics.

There is no reason to purchase a premium upgrade just to access the Phasmophobia Double XP event. The Halloween event’s personal and community reward tracks continue alongside the bonus, and the free first-week Crimson Eye tee Twitch Drop ends separately on October 15 at 11:59 PM BST.

Which locations should you play during Crimson Eye?

Crimson Eye uses eight Blood Moon maps: 6 Tanglewood Drive, 42 Edgefield Road, Grafton Farmhouse, 13 Willow Street, Bleasdale Farmhouse, standard Point Hope, Camp Woodwind and Nell’s Diner. Blood Moon weather makes the ghosts more dangerous, so those aren’t always the easiest contracts for earning XP.

The Phasmophobia Double XP event itself is announced for completed investigations, with no separate requirement to play only Blood Moon maps. If you’re also chasing Halloween progression, however, choosing one of the eight seasonal locations lets you work towards that goal while collecting the October reward multiplier.

How to get more from the bonus week

Focus on investigations you can consistently finish. Bring the equipment you normally rely on, keep track of evidence and decide whether optional objectives are worth the risk before triggering a dangerous hunt. An investigation completed safely earns its payout; losing a long attempt can cost more time than simply playing another contract.

If you’re returning to Phasmophobia for the Phasmophobia Double XP event, note that update v0.19.1.0 arrived October 7 and added a Seasonal Event toggle. Check that you haven’t disabled seasonal maps when trying to combine double rewards with Crimson Eye objectives.

When does Double XP end?

The announced final date is October 22, 2026. Kinetic hasn’t published a universal shutdown hour, and the Blood Moon event continues beyond that date through November 1. Don’t confuse the end of the XP multiplier with the end of Halloween investigations and cosmetic progress.

After the Phasmophobia Double XP event finishes, the next announced seasonal activity is Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts, running October 26 to November 1 in support of the American Heart Association. Its full participation requirements were not included in the initial Crimson Eye announcement.
