Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO is still obtainable through the rescheduled Boston City Safari, but the method has changed completely. The cancelled Boston GO Stamp Rally is no longer the source. Instead, qualifying Boston ticket holders receive supplementary Special Research that can award up to nine Explorer Hat Eevee with a Boston Location Background.

The most important detail for Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO collectors is that the research can be obtained from anywhere in the world during a very long login window, but its tasks require spinning PokéStops in Boston. This separates obtaining the Special Research from actually completing the Boston-specific objectives.

How to get Explorer Hat Eevee from the rescheduled Boston event

To get Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO through the new Boston method, you need to be a qualifying current City Safari Boston ticket holder. Niantic says these Trainers receive supplementary Special Research containing tasks to spin PokéStops in Boston.

The research awards up to nine Explorer Hat Eevee encounters with a Boston Location Background. This is now the main Boston-specific costume route after the Stamp Rally was removed.

How many Explorer Hat Eevee can you get?

The supplementary research can provide up to nine Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO encounters with a Boston Location Background. Niantic says qualifying Trainers receive one Special Research opportunity per ticketed day.

If your purchase covered both ticketed days, that wording is especially important because it links the research opportunity to each ticketed day rather than simply giving every account one identical research line.

When do you need to log in?

You can log in anywhere in the world between October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2028 to obtain the Special Research connected to Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO.

This two-year claim window gives ticket holders far more flexibility than the original September event. You do not have to physically be in Boston on October 24 or 25 simply to receive the research.

Do you have to visit Boston?

Yes, if you want to complete the Boston-specific tasks for Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO. Niantic says the supplementary Special Research asks Trainers to spin PokéStops in Boston.

The main October event bonuses are global for ticket holders, but the location-background Eevee research preserves a reason to visit Boston. Do not confuse those two systems.

Is there still a Boston Stamp Rally?

No. There will be no Boston GO Stamp Rally during the rescheduled gameplay, so old instructions telling you to collect up to eight stamps for Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO no longer apply to Boston.

The Stamp Rally information remains historical for the original City Safari plan, but the actual October Boston replacement uses the supplementary Special Research method instead.

What happened to the original event Special Research?

The original Boston City Safari Special Research was expected to include Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO as part of the standard City Safari structure. Niantic is replacing that research with Timed Research for the October weekend.

The replacement Timed Research features Orange Flower Flabébé, Hawlucha, Mudbray and Komala instead. Explorer Hat Eevee therefore moves to the separate Boston Location Background Special Research.

Can Explorer Hat Eevee be Shiny?

Yes. Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO is a Shiny-eligible costume. The Boston supplementary research gives repeated encounter opportunities, but Niantic does not describe the Shiny as guaranteed.

If you are collecting the full costume family, keep multiple Eevee rather than evolving the first good one immediately. Explorer Hat Eevee can retain the costume when evolved into the currently available Eeveelutions.

Can you evolve Boston Location Background Eevee?

The costume form of Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO can evolve while retaining its explorer hat. The standard Eevee evolution requirements still apply to the different evolutions.

Location Background collectors may want to keep the base Eevee as well as evolved examples, so decide whether the Boston background or completing the costume family matters more before evolving a rare encounter.

What if you refund your Boston ticket?

If you request a refund, you lose access to the rescheduled Boston gameplay and should not expect the ticket-holder route for Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO. Niantic states that refunded Trainers cannot participate in the replacement event.

Refund requests must be made through in-app support before October 20 at 11:59 p.m. EST and cannot be reversed by repurchasing because no new tickets will be released.

Explorer Hat Eevee summary

Explorer Hat Eevee in Pokémon GO is no longer tied to a Boston Stamp Rally. Current Boston ticket holders can instead obtain supplementary Special Research and earn up to nine encounters with a Boston Location Background.

Claim the research anywhere during the October 24, 2026 to October 23, 2028 login window, then use Boston PokéStops when you are ready to complete its location-specific tasks.
