Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map: What Matters After Reschedule

Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map is no longer required for the main rescheduled October 24 and 25 gameplay. Niantic has moved the wild encounters and event bonuses to a global format for current ticket holders and has cancelled the Boston GO Stamp Rally, which was the main reason the original nine-zone map mattered.

The only remaining reason the Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map can still help is the supplementary Explorer Hat Eevee Special Research. Those tasks require spinning PokéStops in Boston, but Niantic does not say Trainers need to follow the old Explorer-zone route or visit the former Stamp Rally stops.

Do you need the Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map in October?

No, not for the main event. Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map planning was originally built around citywide gameplay, nine Explorer zones and a GO Stamp Rally.

The replacement event works globally for current ticket holders from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time on October 24 and October 25. You can play from your own location rather than travelling through Boston.

What were the nine original Explorer zones?

The original Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map highlighted Beacon Hill, North End, Back Bay, Financial District, Seaport, Fenway-Kenmore, Black Heritage Trail, Cambridge and Charlestown, and Malden.

Those areas were meant to contain themed PokéStops and Gyms useful for the Stamp Rally. Since the October replacement has no Boston GO Stamp Rally, they should no longer be treated as mandatory event checkpoints.

Does Boston still matter at all?

Yes, but for a narrower reason than the original Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map suggested. Qualifying ticket holders can receive supplementary Special Research with tasks that ask them to spin PokéStops in Boston.

Completing that research can award up to nine Explorer Hat Eevee encounters with a Boston Location Background. Any ordinary eligible Boston PokéStops specified by the live research matter more than recreating the old nine-zone route.

No October Stamp Rally map

Niantic explicitly says there will be no Boston GO Stamp Rally, so there is no current October Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map of participating stamp stops to complete.

Do not rely on old Campfire markers or saved September event-map screenshots to locate October stamp targets. That activity is not part of the replacement event.

Where can ticket holders play?

The main October gameplay makes the Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map unnecessary because current ticket holders can access the wild encounters and event bonuses globally.

The gameplay window is 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in your own local time zone on both October 24 and October 25. Your local parks, PokéStop clusters and normal safe walking routes are therefore more useful for the global portion of the event than a Boston tourist map.

When would a Boston map still help?

A normal Boston map can help if you eventually travel to complete the supplementary Special Research associated with Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map searches. The research requires Boston PokéStop spins and awards the location-background Eevee encounters.

Because you have until October 23, 2028 to log in and obtain the research, there is no reason to rush an October Boston trip simply because the original City Safari weekend moved.

What happened to Copley Square?

Copley Square was central to the old Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map because the September plan included a Trainer Lounge there. Niantic’s reschedule announcement does not restore that physical lounge as part of the October replacement.

Do not use the old September lounge address as an October event starting point unless Niantic separately announces a new physical activation.

Should you delete the old map?

The old Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map still has historical value for understanding the cancelled September layout, but it should be clearly labelled as obsolete for October event routing.

If you saved the map to your phone, do not follow it expecting stamp rewards, Explorer-zone requirements or a live Trainer Lounge.

Refunds if your trip was map-dependent

Players who bought a ticket specifically for the original Boston route can request a refund rather than using the global replacement. The deadline is October 20 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

A refunded ticket cannot be repurchased, and the refunded Trainer loses access to the rescheduled gameplay.

Boston map summary

Pokémon GO City Safari Boston Map is no longer an October event route. The main gameplay is global for existing ticket holders, and there is no Boston GO Stamp Rally.

Boston mapping only becomes useful later if you are completing the supplementary Special Research that asks for Boston PokéStop spins and awards location-background Explorer Hat Eevee.
