When it comes to playing Pokemon, we all get excited over choosing which starter Pokemon we will use, and we have all played using the big guns such as Charizard, Machamp, and Slaking. But sometimes it’s easy to forget about the lesser-known, underrated Pokemon.

Sometimes, those who sit quietly in the back deserve to be in the spotlight! And there are a fair few out there with decent appearance and stats.

Let’s explore the underrated Pokemon, and explain why you should give them a little more attention.

Underrated Pokemon – Beheeyem

As we begin our journey exploring some of the most underrated Pokemon, Beheeyem is one that definitely didn’t make it here for its appearance. But what it lacks in appearance, it makes up for with its moves.

This Gen V pure Psychic-type has access to some of the most powerful moves in the series, extending from the vast array of Psychic attacks to moves like Thunderbolt and Energy Ball.

Underrated Pokemon – Emolga

Emolga is a mightily fierce Pokemon when used correctly.

The Electric/Flying type Pokemon is only weak to Rock and Ice, so the chances of you directly encountering a combination of both are quite slim.

Boasting mighty speeds, the flying squirrel is not to be underestimated.

Upon appearance, it appears to be incredibly sweet, but don’t be fooled.

Full of grace and beauty, but fierce and deadly – we love Roserade.

Parasect is shockingly bad against Fire and Flying Pokemon, however, the potential with this Bug/Grass type Pokemon is surprisingly good.

Its stats may be a little weak, but it has the ability to hold itself well with mighty stamina behind it.

Underrated Pokemon – Starmie

Starmie, the Water/Psychic Pokemon, is one of the few Pokemon that has the ability to learn moves from other Pokemon types including Electric, Dragon, Rock, and Grass.

Moving at high speeds, and with special attack stats, the powerful offensive Pokemon should be seen more often, however, it is normally let down by low HP.

Bellsprout is a small, plant-type-looking Pokemon. The Grass/Poison type Pokemon is an absolute beast against electric-type Pokemon.

The roots of Bellsprout can anchor themselves to the ground to stop electric moves in their tracks. And with its poison ability, it can sap the energy of opponents swiftly.

And with its size and flexibility, it can make avoiding opponents a breeze. Do not underestimate Bellsprout!

The competitive, Fire Type Pokemon does boast some pretty impressive stats. And its appearance is certainly one to be admired.

Introduced in Generation 7, the Grass Type Tsarrena is the boss of all Pokemon for sure!

Named after Russian Queens, Tsareena will kick everything and anything out of her way. Nothing should mess with her. She stands tall and proud with a crown on her head, and why shouldn’t she?

She takes no nonsense from Pokemon, or even trainers, and is quite the force to come up against!
