The Fortnite personal loot pool is a new Chapter 7 Season 4 system that lets players add selected weapons to their own Chest loot using Loot Hacks. Instead of every player relying entirely on the same standard Battle Royale pool, Override gives you a way to influence which extra weapons can appear for you.
The Fortnite personal loot pool is powered by Sprite Dust. You earn Sprite Dust by extracting Sprites, then spend it in the Loot Hack menu to unlock and upgrade weapons.
Here is how the Fortnite personal loot pool works and how to add a weapon to yours.
What Is the Fortnite Personal Loot Pool?
The Fortnite personal loot pool is a selection of additional Loot Hack weapons that you have personally unlocked and equipped.
Once a Loot Hack weapon is added, it can appear for you when opening Chests.
This does not replace the normal Chapter 7 Season 4 loot pool. It adds another personalised layer on top of it.
That means two players in the same match can potentially have different Loot Hack weapons available through their individual Fortnite personal loot pool.
How to Add a Weapon to Your Fortnite Personal Loot Pool
To add a weapon to your Fortnite personal loot pool:
- Earn Sprite Dust.
- Open the Override section.
- Select Loot Hack.
- Choose one of the currently available weapons.
- Spend the required Sprite Dust to unlock it.
- Equip the Loot Hack.
- The weapon is added to your personal loot pool.
Once equipped, you have a chance of finding that weapon from Chests.
How to Get Sprite Dust for the Personal Loot Pool
Sprite Dust is earned by extracting Sprites.
The basic progression loop is:
Find Sprite → extract Sprite → earn Sprite Dust → unlock Loot Hack → add weapon to personal loot pool.
This gives Sprite hunting a practical use beyond simply filling out the Chapter 7 Season 4 collection.
The more Sprite Dust you earn, the more you can invest into Loot Hacks.
What Happens After You Add a Weapon?
Adding a weapon to the Fortnite personal loot pool does not guarantee it from your next Chest.
Instead, the Loot Hack gives that weapon its own Chest drop chance.
Further upgrades can increase that chance.
One of the Loot Hacks shown in Chapter 7 Season 4 is the Oni Shotgun, which can be upgraded through several different drop-rate tiers.
Can You Increase Personal Loot Pool Drop Rates?
Yes.
Loot Hack upgrades can increase how often an unlocked weapon appears from Chests.
The Oni Shotgun progression, for example, shows Chest drop rates increasing through:
- 9%
- 12%
- 15%
That means investing more Sprite Dust can make a favourite Loot Hack weapon noticeably easier to find.
Can You Increase Weapon Rarity With Loot Hacks?
Yes.
The Fortnite personal loot pool system can also increase the highest rarity available for an unlocked weapon.
The Oni Shotgun Loot Hack includes upgrades allowing its maximum rarity to increase to:
- Epic
- Legendary
So upgrading a Loot Hack can improve both how often the weapon appears and how good the best version can be.
Does Your Personal Loot Pool Affect Other Players?
No.
The important word is personal.
Weapons added through your Fortnite personal loot pool are tied to your Loot Hack choices rather than automatically being added to the standard loot pool for everybody.
Another player can choose different Loot Hacks and build their own personal pool around the weapons they prefer.
Are Personal Loot Pool Weapons Guaranteed?
No.
Adding a weapon gives it a chance to appear from Chests.
The exact chance depends on how far you have upgraded that Loot Hack.
This is why upgrading matters. A weapon with a higher Chest drop percentage should naturally appear more often over multiple matches.
Do Loot Hack Weapons Rotate?
Yes.
The weapons available through Loot Hacks rotate during Chapter 7 Season 4.
The Loot Hack menu includes a refresh timer showing when the current selection will change.
That means your Fortnite personal loot pool options can expand or change as different weapons become available throughout Override.
Should You Spend Sprite Dust Immediately?
Not necessarily.
Because Loot Hacks rotate, it can make sense to save Sprite Dust if none of the current weapons suit your playstyle.
If a weapon you use constantly appears in the rotation, investing heavily in it can make much more sense than spreading Sprite Dust across several options you rarely carry.
Can You Reset Loot Hack Upgrades?
The Loot Hack menu includes a Reset All Upgrades option.
That gives players a way to change their Loot Hack setup rather than being permanently tied to the first weapons they upgraded.
If you decide you would rather build your Fortnite personal loot pool around something else, the reset system gives you another option.
What Is the Best Weapon to Add to Your Personal Loot Pool?
The best choice depends on the current Loot Hack rotation and the weapons you actually enjoy using.
There is little benefit in heavily upgrading a weapon simply because it is available if you normally drop it the moment you find something else.
A better approach is to prioritise weapons that regularly form part of your preferred loadout.
That way, the Fortnite personal loot pool is doing what it is designed to do: making the loot you actually want easier to find.
Is the Oni Shotgun in the Personal Loot Pool?
The Oni Shotgun is one confirmed example of a Chapter 7 Season 4 Loot Hack weapon.
Players can spend Sprite Dust to add it to their Fortnite personal loot pool and then continue upgrading it.
Its progression demonstrates how the system can improve Chest drop rates and increase maximum rarity.
Fortnite Personal Loot Pool Explained
The Fortnite personal loot pool lets players use Loot Hacks to add selected weapons to their own possible Chest drops.
Earn Sprite Dust by extracting Sprites, spend it to unlock a Loot Hack weapon and equip that weapon to add it to your pool.
From there, additional upgrades can improve its Chest drop rate and maximum rarity.
It is one of Override’s smartest new progression systems because instead of simply hoping Fortnite gives you the weapon you want, you can actually nudge the loot pool in your favour.
