Pokémon GO World Championships 2026 Shiny Pokémon: Every Shiny You Can Catch

The Pokémon GO World Championships 2026 shiny Pokémon list is unusually large, with Shiny Pokémon available through wild encounters, one-star raids, the GO Pass and special costumed Pikachu encounters during the PokémonXP and World Championships celebrations.

PokémonXP runs from August 25 at 10:00 a.m. until August 28 at 10:00 a.m. local time. The World Championships portion then begins immediately and continues until August 30 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Different Pokémon appear during each part of the event, so Trainers hunting specific Shiny Pokémon will need to pay attention to when each encounter pool is active.

All Pokémon GO World Championships 2026 Shiny Pokémon

Every Pokémon listed in the announced PokémonXP and World Championships wild encounter pools is Shiny eligible.

The raid Pokémon announced for the event are also listed as potentially Shiny.

Two new costumed Pikachu make their debut during the celebration, and both can be encountered as Shiny Pokémon.

The announcement does not state that Shiny rates will be increased during the event, so Trainers should not assume that any of these Pokémon will have boosted Shiny odds unless additional information is confirmed.

PokémonXP Shiny Pokémon

The first Pokémon GO World Championships 2026 shiny Pokémon pool appears during PokémonXP.

From August 25 at 10:00 a.m. until August 28 at 10:00 a.m. local time, seven Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild.

Deino will also appear for some Trainers as a less common wild encounter and can be Shiny.

This gives PokémonXP a particularly broad Shiny hunting pool before the encounters change on August 28.

Pokémon GO World Championships 2026 Shiny Wild Encounters

The wild encounter pool changes at 10:00 a.m. local time on August 28.

From then until August 30 at 8:00 p.m. local time, eight Pokémon will appear more frequently.

Togetic and Beldum will be less common encounters during this period.

Both Togetic and Beldum can be Shiny.

Several of these Pokémon are also particularly useful during the event because their evolutions can obtain featured attacks.

Alolan Sandshrew can lead to Alolan Sandslash with Shadow Claw, Mankey can lead to Primeape or Annihilape with Rage Fist, Totodile can become Feraligatr with Hydro Cannon, Froakie can become Greninja with Hydro Cannon and Beldum can ultimately become Metagross with Meteor Mash.

This means a good Shiny encounter could also potentially become an event-exclusive featured-move Pokémon.

Shiny Cosmog Spacesuit Pikachu

Pikachu wearing a Cosmog-themed spacesuit is one of the biggest new Pokémon GO World Championships 2026 shiny Pokémon targets.

The costumed Pikachu makes its Pokémon GO debut during the event and can immediately be encountered in its Shiny form.

During PokémonXP, Pikachu wearing a Cosmog-themed spacesuit will appear in one-star raids from August 25 until August 28.

It remains in one-star raids when the World Championships event begins and continues to be available through August 30.

There will also be an additional encounter available through PokémonXP Timed Research.

The PokémonXP research is earned by watching the Celebrating 10 Years of Pokémon GO panel for 30 minutes on Saturday, August 29.

Shiny World Championships 2026 Pikachu

World Championships 2026 Pikachu is the second new costumed Pikachu debuting during the celebration.

It becomes available when the World Championships event begins on August 28 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

World Championships 2026 Pikachu will appear in one-star raids alongside Pikachu wearing a Cosmog-themed spacesuit and Honedge.

The new costume can be Shiny.

Trainers can also earn another World Championships 2026 Pikachu encounter through the Greetings from San Francisco Bonus Timed Research.

That research is connected to official Pokémon GO co-streamers during the World Championships and requires 45 minutes of eligible watch time.

Because World Championships 2026 Pikachu is a limited event costume, it is likely to be one of the main collection targets during the weekend.

Pokémon GO World Championships 2026 Shiny Pokémon in Raids

There are different one-star raid pools during PokémonXP and the World Championships.

During PokémonXP, the raid Pokémon are:

During the World Championships portion, the pool changes to:

This means Trainers specifically hunting Shiny Impidimp need to raid before PokémonXP ends at 10:00 a.m. local time on August 28.

Honedge does not join the announced raid pool until the World Championships portion begins.

Can GO Pass Zapdos Be Shiny?

Yes. Zapdos obtained through GO Pass: PokémonXP & 2026 Worlds can potentially be Shiny.

The Zapdos encounter is one of the rewards available to Trainers who upgrade to GO Pass Deluxe.

The event announcement also confirms that Zapdos encountered through this GO Pass will have a wider variance of Attack, Defense and HP.

This differs from many standard reward encounters where IV floors can restrict the possible stat combinations.

Best Pokémon GO World Championships 2026 Shiny Pokémon to Hunt

For pure collection purposes, the two new costumed Pikachu are the obvious priorities because they are making their debut during this celebration.

However, several other Pokémon are worth prioritising because they combine Shiny hunting with access to useful featured attacks.

Beldum, Deino and Togetic are specifically identified as less common encounters during their respective event periods, so those are worth checking whenever they appear.

Are Shiny Odds Boosted During Pokémon GO Worlds 2026?

No boosted Shiny rates have been announced for the event.

The official event information confirms which encounters can potentially be Shiny but does not state that their Shiny odds will be increased.

A Pokémon being featured during an event does not automatically mean that its Shiny rate is boosted.

Unless separate information is announced, Trainers should treat the event as providing increased opportunities to encounter many Shiny-eligible Pokémon rather than assuming every featured species has increased Shiny odds.

When Do the Pokémon GO World Championships 2026 Shiny Pokémon Change?

The important change happens at 10:00 a.m. local time on Friday, August 28.

At that point PokémonXP ends and the World Championships portion begins.

The PokémonXP wild pool of Ralts, Numel, Spheal, Drifloon, Elgyem, Sobble, Pawmi and rarer Deino encounters disappears from the announced event pool.

They are replaced by Alolan Sandshrew, Mankey, Lickitung, Totodile, Wooper, Foongus, Froakie and Litten, with Togetic and Beldum appearing as rarer encounters.

The raid pool also changes, with Impidimp leaving the announced event raids and World Championships 2026 Pikachu and Honedge becoming available.
