Brawl Stars Pin and Spray presets let you save a default emote layout and give individual Brawlers their own Pin and Spray choices. The November 2026 update also lets you mix Pins and Sprays in any slot, search Pin categories and choose which emote to use by holding down the battle control.
There are a couple of important limits. A Pin made specifically for a Brawler belongs in that Brawler’s customised preset, not your general default setup. You can also assign certain Pins to trigger automatically at the start of a match, after a victory or when you get three eliminations without dying.
Brawl Stars Pin and Spray presets: default versus Brawler layouts
The default layout is the set of Pins and Sprays you want available across battles. It’s a convenient place for the reactions you use most often, because you don’t have to change them every time you choose a different character.
Individual Brawler presets are for customising that experience. Supercell says Brawler-specific Pins can only be equipped inside the corresponding Brawler’s customised preset. The default preset uses player Pins instead. If you’ve unlocked a character reaction and can’t find it among general Pins, that distinction is the first thing to check.
You don’t need to fill every available position with a Pin. The new system allows Pins and Sprays to be mixed freely across slots. The useful choice is whether you want a quick expression in the battle or a Spray that marks a particular moment.

How to find and choose Pins and Sprays
Supercell has added categories to make searching through the Pin collection easier. That should help anyone with a large number of reactions, especially when similar designs make it difficult to remember exactly which one they unlocked.
When choosing an emote to put in a slot, first decide whether you’re editing the default preset or the one for your current Brawler. Then find the reaction in its category and assign it to the position you prefer. If you’re looking for a Brawler Pin, edit that character’s custom preset rather than the default.
The developer’s release notes describe these abilities but don’t spell out every live menu name or the exact number of available slots. The option names and slot positions on older screenshots may no longer match the current screen.
Using Brawl Stars Pin and Spray presets during a match
The old in-battle emote method is still available, but there’s an additional way to choose a specific reaction. Hold down the emote control and select which Pin or Spray you want to use. That gives you a more deliberate choice than repeatedly swapping your loadout between games.
This is useful when you want to react to a good save, a narrow escape or the end of a close round without losing access to the other Pins and Sprays in your preset. It doesn’t change combat damage or your Brawler’s abilities; it’s a quality-of-life improvement to the way expressions are organised.
Because the same panel now accepts both types of expression, you can arrange the ones you use most where they’re easiest to find. The exact layout should follow what feels comfortable during a match, not a supposed competitive advantage from a particular Spray.

Brawl Stars Pin and Spray presets: automatic Pin triggers
The update introduces three automatic Pin triggers. You can choose a Pin for the beginning of a match, a separate one for victory and another for an elimination streak. The streak activates after three eliminations without your Brawler dying.
That last condition matters. It isn’t triggered by three total eliminations scattered across several lives. You need to earn the streak without being defeated. The notes do not describe an automatic Spray trigger as part of the same system, so don’t assume Sprays have identical options.
Automatic Pins are cosmetic expressions. You can use them to celebrate a strong run, but they don’t add a combat bonus or replace a Gadget, Star Power or Hypercharge. Set them up if you enjoy the personalisation and ignore them if you prefer a cleaner in-battle screen.
Brawl Stars Pin and Spray presets: why Brawler Pins stay separate
It’s a restriction of the new preset system, not necessarily a missing unlock. Character-specific Pins belong to the individual Brawler layout. The default layout accepts player Pins. If a reaction only appears when you’re customising one character, you’re probably looking at a Brawler Pin.
For Brawl Stars Pin and Spray presets, the easiest troubleshooting sequence is to check which preset you’re editing, use the new category search and make sure you’re selecting a Pin or Spray allowed for that layout. Then enter a match and try the hold-to-select control to check how your chosen expressions appear.
