Brawl Stars Rey and Ruby are two different Mythic Brawlers who become more useful together thanks to their Power Couple trait. Rey is a Marksman who marks enemies and picks his moment to fire, while Ruby is a Damage Dealer whose cards can control an area. Each can be selected separately, but the paired bonuses require both to be on the same team.
The important question isn’t which of the pair is stronger on paper. Their abilities do different jobs, and the shared healing works in two directions at different amounts. Supercell’s November 2026 release notes spell out the traits, Gadgets, Star Powers and Hypercharges, so here’s how they fit into an actual match.
Brawl Stars Rey and Ruby: how Power Couple works
When Rey hits with his main attack, his allied Ruby is healed by 800 Health. Rey also gains 10% movement speed while moving toward Ruby. Ruby gives Rey a smaller 400 Health heal from her own main attack, and receives the same 10% movement bonus while running toward him. The two effects are not identical: Rey provides more healing per attack.
Those bonuses don’t require you to select the pair as one combined character. They do require the corresponding partner as an ally. Picking Rey without Ruby doesn’t automatically grant the 800-point heal to someone else, and Ruby doesn’t gain an unrelated speed boost merely because Rey exists in the game’s roster.
For team play, this creates a reason to stay aware of each other’s location. It doesn’t mean standing shoulder to shoulder through every fight. Rey benefits from clear lines of sight, while Ruby can use her control tools to make the route between them safer.

Brawl Stars Rey and Ruby: Rey’s attack, Super and equipment
Marked for Greatness applies marks with Rey’s regular shots. The more the meter fills, the more damage his attacks deal. His Super, Endgame, lets him aim for up to three seconds with a 30% shield, applying marks before firing at visible enemies in range. You can trigger the shot early rather than waiting out the full aim period.
Rey’s Queen’s Gambit Gadget fires five queens in a cone and pushes back enemies they hit. Rey Lopez instead throws a knight that fully marks enemies and slows them by 20% for two seconds. One is a displacement tool, the other helps set up extra damage against a marked target.
His first Star Power, Clock Management, slows enemies being marked by his Super by 15%. En Passant spreads a full mark to the closest enemy in range when his main attack or Super hits an already fully marked opponent. That gives Rey a way to shift pressure between targets without starting every mark from scratch.
Rey’s Winning Position Hypercharge upgrades Endgame so it can reveal invisible enemies and apply hyper marks. Triggering those marks can deal up to 2,700 damage, according to Supercell. That figure applies to triggered hyper marks, not every ordinary Rey shot.

Brawl Stars Rey and Ruby: Ruby’s abilities and equipment
Draw Two sends a Club and a Diamond in a figure-eight pattern. Landing both at the same moment increases the damage. Her Super, Royal Flush, creates a four-second area that grounds enemies. Swirling shots inside it deal damage equal to 15% of a target’s maximum Health.
Ruby has two Gadgets with very different uses. Shuffle and Cut launches a Heart that splits into five on contact or at maximum range. The hearts restore 800 Health to allies and damage enemies for 15% of their maximum Health. Stack the Deck fires four bouncing Spades that knock enemies back and deal 200 damage.
Her Lucky Number Star Power adds seven more shots to Royal Flush. Double or Nothing punishes enemies hit by both main-attack projectiles: they lose 5% of maximum Health each second for three seconds. That’s a damage-over-time effect, not a single extra 15% hit.
The All In! Hypercharge expands Ruby’s Super and makes enemies struck by its shots burst into more shots. With so much happening inside Royal Flush, placing the zone where opponents need to stand is more useful than dropping it somewhere they can simply ignore.
Brawl Stars Rey and Ruby team synergy
For Brawl Stars Rey and Ruby, the answer depends on whether your team can make use of the passive healing and their different roles. Rey helps from range with marks and a carefully timed Super. Ruby can pressure an objective and interrupt enemies who try to push through her abilities. Their Power Couple boosts give an extra reward for keeping that partnership active.
If the pair isn’t available in your team, either Brawler still retains their own attacks and equipment. What you lose is the partner-specific Power Couple benefit. It’s worth separating the guaranteed mechanics in Supercell’s notes from any tier-list claim about which duo is automatically best on every map.
Brawl Stars Rey and Ruby also have separate Mastery and Prestige titles. Rey’s are Checkmate and Grandmaster, while Ruby’s are The House Always Wins and Poker Face. Exact availability and unlock offers should be checked in-game rather than guessed from the ability announcement.
