Stumble Guys Pollo Stick Ability: How to Bounce, Upgrade and Avoid Cancelling It

The Stumble Guys Pollo Stick ability gives you three bounces, each higher and longer than the last. It’s handy for clearing tall obstacles and finding shortcuts, but it won’t work like an ordinary double jump. Use it on the ground and you’ll bounce straight away. Trigger it in midair and your Stumbler drops to the ground first, then launches into a stronger opening bounce.

That difference can decide whether you land a shortcut or sail past it. You do most of your steering between bounces, not in the air, and a knock from another player can stop the move altogether. There are also three upgrade stats to consider, plus one small timing trick the developers have explained themselves.

How the Stumble Guys Pollo Stick ability works

Start the Stumble Guys Pollo Stick ability from the ground and the first bounce happens immediately. Activate it while jumping or falling, however, and the move first brings you down to the ground before firing off a boosted initial bounce. The second and third bounces then follow the usual sequence. You’re not getting a free jump in midair, so choose where you’ll land before pressing the ability.

The three-bounce build-up takes a little patience. The later jumps are the ones that give you serious height. If you’re using Pollo Stick to reach a high platform, make room for the earlier bounces instead of expecting to clear the obstacle on the first press.

How to steer each Pollo Stick bounce

Successive bounces give the Stumble Guys Pollo Stick ability its height and distance. Most directional control happens when your character is on the ground between bounces. Midair correction is limited, so you are better off setting a clear direction before taking off, then making only small adjustments once airborne.

For a shortcut, pick your landing point before you start. The second and third bounces can get you over taller obstacles, but you still need to be heading towards the right platform. One extra tip came from the developers’ October Q&A: pressing the regular jump button at the moment of a bounce can give you even more height. That’s worth practising somewhere forgiving before you try it in Ranked.

Pollo Stick versus the Ball ability

In their October Q&A, the developers said the Stumble Guys Pollo Stick ability can bounce much higher than the Ball ability, although it carries you less distance forwards. That makes Pollo Stick better suited to climbing over high obstacles than simply covering ground. They also explained that most sticky surfaces do not change the height of its bounces.

Why the Stumble Guys Pollo Stick ability stops or fails

The Stumble Guys Pollo Stick ability cannot be activated while its cooldown is active or while your character is Stumbled. If you are hit or otherwise interrupted during the bounce sequence, the ability is cancelled. This is normal behaviour described in the official update, not evidence by itself that the game has a bug.

If the button won’t respond, the first things to check are the cooldown and whether your Stumbler is still recovering from a hit. A bounce chain that stops after contact with another player is also behaving as the patch notes describe. And if your character suddenly falls before bouncing, remember that this is exactly what the ability does when activated in midair.

Pollo Stick upgrade stats

There are three official upgrade attributes for the Stumble Guys Pollo Stick ability. They affect different parts of the same move:

AttributeWhat it changes
CooldownHow soon the ability can be used again
Jump ImpulseThe strength of the bounce
SpeedMovement speed during the ability

The official patch notes confirm these three stats without giving a Pollo Stick price or a cooldown in seconds. For the values on your account, check the Ability Upgrade screen. The game’s redesigned ability system uses nine upgrade levels, but the exact cost and strength of Pollo Stick at each level are not supplied in these patch notes.

Is Pollo Stick allowed in Ranked Season 27?

Yes. The Stumble Guys Pollo Stick ability is included in the Ranked Season 27 enabled list alongside Hug, Bolt, Gust, Punch, Spin, Bouncing Ball, Rewind, Switch and Bumper Field. Season 27 began on October 1 and ends on November 5, 2026. The ranked reward for reaching Champion is Azure King, covered in our separate Azure King skin guide.

Ranked availability doesn’t mean every account has unlocked Pollo Stick. If you do have it equipped, make sure you’ve got room to build up all three bounces. Trying to begin that chain in the middle of a crowded route makes it easier for another player to cancel it.

How to get the Stumble Guys Pollo Stick ability

Pollo Stick was available to try for free in the Ability Showcase from October 1 at 10am UTC to October 5 at 10am UTC. That event has ended. The publisher also gave away the ability to three winners of its clip challenge. Neither event establishes a permanent free-unlock method. Check the ability’s in-game information for the acquisition options currently offered to your account.

With the Stumble Guys Pollo Stick ability equipped, the best results come from planning the next landing, giving the higher bounces time to build and knowing when to avoid a fight. Get the timing right and it can clear obstacles a normal jump can’t touch.
