Star Wars Galactic Racer Multiplayer Characters: How to Unlock Every Racer

Star Wars Galactic Racer release date and time

Galactic Racer multiplayer characters are more than alternate portraits because each racer is paired with a Racer Style that changes the starting identity of an online build. The launch roster is split across progression rather than being fully open from the first multiplayer session, so a player looking for a favourite Galactic League rival can easily mistake a locked character for missing content. The character screen also sits beside a separate Podracing roster, which follows a different progression rule from the main speeder cast.

That split makes the online roster look more complicated than a simple list of names. Galactic Racer multiplayer characters include the new racers introduced through the campaign as well as classic Podracing pilots, and the two groups are not unlocked in the same way. The useful launch-day reference therefore needs to show the complete roster, the relevant multiplayer milestones and the Racer Style attached to each standard character rather than mixing every driver into one unexplained list.

There are 19 Galactic Racer multiplayer characters across the launch multiplayer modes. Thirteen belong to the standard speeder roster, including Shade, while six belong to the separate Podracing roster. Shade is unlocked from the start. The other twelve standard racers are earned through multiplayer ranks, with Kestar Bool at Rank 40 as the final standard character unlock. Podracing opens at Multiplayer Level 5 and immediately makes its six classic pilots selectable in that mode.

How to unlock Galactic Racer multiplayer characters

The standard Galactic Racer multiplayer characters unlock by increasing Multiplayer Rank. Online play awards XP, and Fuse Games’ launch-day Xbox breakdown specifically notes that winning a Multiplayer Tour pays a large XP reward. You do not need to replay the campaign story or defeat the matching character in a Rivalry Head-to-Head to unlock the online version. The multiplayer ladder is its own progression track.

Quick Races are useful when you want a shorter session, while Multiplayer Tours are six-event runs where the first five races build toward the final Championship event. Because the Tour structure also pays XP, it is the natural mode for anyone trying to push through several Galactic Racer multiplayer characters unlock thresholds while learning how their temporary online builds develop between races.

Every Podracing multiplayer character

The six Podracing Galactic Racer multiplayer characters are Ben Quadinaros, Dud Bolt, Gasgano, Ody Mandrell, Sebulba and Teemto Pagalies. These classic pilots use their own podracers and sit in a separate character pool from Shade and the Galactic League cast. Anakin Skywalker is not part of the launch multiplayer roster.

You do not grind six separate Podracing character ranks. These six Galactic Racer multiplayer characters arrive together when Podracing multiplayer opens. Reach Multiplayer Level 5 to unlock the Podracing multiplayer mode, and the six pilots become available together. Podracing online events support eight racers rather than the twelve used by the standard speeder modes, reflecting the larger size and much higher speed of the machines.

Why Racer Styles matter when choosing a character

The names beside the Galactic Racer multiplayer characters are not flavour labels. Racer Styles establish the starting direction of a build. Survivor is defensive and works around Shield, Brawler favours physical aggression, Tech Expert leans toward active abilities, Redliner rewards dangerous Ramjet use, and Slipstreamer is built around drafting and overtaking. The character choice therefore changes the starting toolkit before a Multiplayer Tour begins handing out randomised Parts and upgrades.

That also means the next character on the rank ladder may be valuable even if you do not care about the person in the campaign. Unlocking Galactic Racer multiplayer characters is effectively another way to unlock starting build identities for online play. Katja Mox arriving at Rank 2 gives access to Tech Expert very early. Malis Vazosk at Rank 30 opens Brawler, while Kestar Bool at Rank 40 brings Weaponised as the final standard roster reward. If a particular style fits your driving better, its rank is a more useful target than simply grinding toward forty because it is the largest number.

What happens to your multiplayer build after a Tour?

Temporary Parts, upgrades and abilities earned during a six-event online Tour do not become permanent equipment for the Galactic Racer multiplayer characters. The mode borrows the campaign’s buildcraft but compresses it into a competitive session. You create the strongest setup you can across the early events, gamble it on the final race, then start the next Tour from a clean build state.

The persistent part is the multiplayer progression itself. XP continues to advance the account, which is what opens the later Galactic Racer multiplayer characters and additional customisation. That keeps Rank 40 meaningful without allowing a veteran player to enter every new Tour with a fully upgraded vehicle against somebody on their first evening.

Fastest route to the character you want

If your target is one of the early Galactic Racer multiplayer characters, simply play the mode you enjoy and let the first ranks arrive naturally. Katja at Rank 2, Griff at 4, Ary at 6 and Soren at 8 form a quick opening run of unlocks. The gaps widen later, with Nik at 12, Goli and O2-R0 at 18, then the final sequence from Fola at 22 through Kestar at 40.

Players mainly interested in classic Podracing have a much shorter target: reach Multiplayer Level 5, switch into the Podracing pool and choose among the six film-era racers. For everyone else, the full Galactic Racer multiplayer characters chase is a long-term online progression path, and the useful milestone is the Racer Style you actually want to build around rather than a character portrait alone.
