Manticore, Redcap and Wolpertinger are the three new Fairy Event pets in Grow a Garden, and all three come from the Fairy Chest. You don’t need to find three different eggs or shops. Instead, complete Fairy Favors at the Wishing Well, pick Fairy Chests when offered, and open them for a chance at a pet.
The odds are very different, though. Wolpertinger is a common enough result, Redcap is harder to find, and the Divine pet is a genuine long shot. Knowing what their abilities do will help you decide whether to focus on chasing rarity or building a stronger working garden.
How to get Manticore in Grow a Garden
Manticore has a listed 0.5% chance from the regular Fairy Chest. That’s one in 200 on average, not a guarantee after opening 200. The October 2026 update ties this Divine pet to the Fairy Chest rather than the separate Enchanted Egg or Fairy Crate.
How to earn Fairy Chests
Find the Wishing Well, submit the crop named by your current favor and work through its five quest stages. Most requested crops need to carry the Glimmering mutation. Fairy Chests can first appear at tier two (7.69% per offer), followed by tier three (17.24%), tier four (22.73%) and tier five (27.03%). That final tier can offer three chests together, making it useful for farming repeated attempts.
How to get Redcap
Redcap is a Legendary pet with a 14.5% chance from the regular Fairy Chest. Its Redcap’s Curse passive occasionally trades faster egg hatching for pet levelling, or the opposite, while gaining experience. If you’re hatching eggs and raising pets at the same time, this specialisation is worth understanding before swapping out another pet.
How to get Wolpertinger
The Uncommon Wolpertinger has a 35% chest chance. Its Forest Friend ability advances the growth of a random crop periodically, with a stronger effect when Magical plants are growing in your garden. The new Jellycap and Glimmervine have Magical plant tags, which makes them worth considering alongside Wolpertinger.

The remaining Fairy Chest outcomes are three seeds: Jellycap at 35%, Glimmervine at 14.5% and Prism Plume at 0.5%. That makes the total pool six items, with seeds taking up half of the listed probabilities.
What does Manticore’s Beast of Omen do?
Beast of Omen can consume a heavily mutated fruit to trigger a sequence of effects. According to the event’s community pet listings, those can involve fruit mutations, pet experience and ability refreshes. It is an ability built around an established garden with valuable fruit, not a straightforward growth-speed buff like Wolpertinger’s.
Can Manticore drop from the Enchanted Egg?
The 2026 reward information lists Manticore in the Fairy Chest, not the Enchanted Egg. Both items are possible Wishing Well rewards, but they’re different containers. Likewise, the Fairy Crate is a cosmetic box rather than a pet source. Choosing the correct reward is more important than collecting the wrong containers quickly.
How many Fairy Chests should you open?
For a pet with 0.5% odds, ten independent rolls give around a 4.9% chance of at least one. Fifty give about 22.2%, a hundred about 39.4% and two hundred about 63.3%. If your target is Manticore, prepare for a potentially long run. Redcap and Wolpertinger have much higher chances and may turn up while you’re hunting for it.
Which of the three is worth using?
Wolpertinger fits players who want their crops growing faster, especially when their gardens contain Magical plants. Redcap is more about a balance between pet levelling and egg hatching, while the Divine pet rewards mutation-focused play. The right choice depends on what you’re doing when the pet’s passive activates.
Best way to farm Manticore before October 17
Grow a wide selection of favor crops, collect Glimmering versions during the hourly fairy visits and finish higher Wishing Well tiers to increase opportunities for Fairy Chests. The fifth tier can offer three at once, and another five-favor run costs 7,500 Fairy Points. Opening more chests is the only listed route to more independent rolls for Manticore, but no number of openings guarantees the drop.
