The Fortnite Gold Sprites are special Gold variants of the new Sprite collection introduced in Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. There are 12 Fortnite Gold Sprites in the full Season 4 collection, although only 11 are currently obtainable because Storm Scout has not yet been released.
Fortnite Gold Sprites are especially important during Golden Hours, when Gold variants become a much bigger part of the Battle Royale Sprite hunt.
If your collection is showing 12 Gold slots rather than 11, you are not missing anything. The twelfth slot belongs to Gold Storm Scout, which exists as part of the Season 4 collection but is not currently available.

- Gold Jackrabbit Sprite
- Gold Jonesy Sprite
- Gold Killswitch Sprite
- Gold Klombo Sprite
- Gold Shadow Sprite

Why Does My Collection Show 12 Fortnite Gold Sprites?
Your collection can show 12 Fortnite Gold Sprites because Chapter 7 Season 4 has been built around 12 new base Sprites.
Each Sprite has three Season 4 versions:
- Base
- Cheat Master
- Gold
That creates a full set of 36 Season 4 Sprite entries.
However, Storm Scout has not yet joined the live Sprite pool, meaning its Base, Cheat Master and Gold versions are still unavailable.
This is why some guides currently say there are 11 Fortnite Gold Sprites. They are counting the Gold variants you can actually obtain right now rather than every Gold slot in the full Season 4 collection. Current reporting confirms 11 Gold variants are live.
Which Fortnite Gold Sprite Is Not Available Yet?
Gold Storm Scout Sprite is the missing Gold variant.
Storm Scout is part of the Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprite lineup but did not release alongside the other 11 Sprites at the start of Override.
Current Season 4 tracking places Storm Scout as a later release rather than a launch Sprite.
Until the base Storm Scout Sprite becomes available, you should not expect to be able to complete the Gold Storm Scout slot either.
How to Get Fortnite Gold Sprites
Fortnite Gold Sprites are found through the Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprite system, with Golden Hours providing the main limited-time opportunity to hunt Gold variants.
The first Golden Hours event takes place on Saturday, August 22 and places a particular focus on Gold Sprites.
During the event, play Battle Royale and search for Sprites in the same way you normally would during Override.
Finding a Gold Sprite is not enough on its own. You still need to successfully extract the Sprite if you want it permanently added to your collection.
What Do Fortnite Gold Sprites Do?
Fortnite Gold Sprites retain the normal ability of their corresponding base Sprite.
For example, a Gold Sonic Sprite still provides Sonic’s sprint-related ability, while Gold Adventure Sprite retains the ability associated with Adventure Sprite.
Gold variants also add their own special Gold bonus on top of the normal Sprite effect. Current reporting describes Gold variants as rewarding eliminations by increasing the amount of Sprite XP earned.
That means Fortnite Gold Sprites are not simply cosmetic recolours.
Are Fortnite Gold Sprites Rare?
Yes.
Fortnite Gold Sprites are special variants and are considerably more unusual than finding the standard version of the same Sprite.
Individual rarity varies depending on the base Sprite.
A Gold version of an already difficult-to-find Sprite such as Klombo or Crown can therefore be particularly valuable for collectors.
Is Gold Klombo Sprite Available?

Yes.
Gold Klombo Sprite is one of the 11 Fortnite Gold Sprites currently available.
Klombo is already a Mythic Sprite, making its Gold version one of the standout finds in the Season 4 collection.
Gold Klombo deserves its own guide because finding the normal Klombo Sprite is already much harder than finding most of the Rare and Epic Sprites.
Is Gold Crown Sprite Available?

Yes.
Gold Crown Sprite is currently available as part of the Fortnite Gold Sprites collection.
The standard Crown Sprite is another Mythic Sprite with unusual progression requirements connected to winning matches.
Its Gold variant is therefore another particularly desirable addition to the Chapter 7 Season 4 collection.
Is Gold Sonic Sprite Available?
Yes.
Gold Sonic Sprite is one of the Fortnite Gold Sprites currently available.
Sonic is an Epic Sprite that increases sprint speed, and its Gold version retains that core ability while adding the Gold variant bonus.
Is Gold Tails Sprite Available?
Yes.
Gold Tails Sprite is currently obtainable.
Tails is another Epic crossover Sprite in Chapter 7 Season 4 and allows players to hover while airborne.
Gold Tails is therefore one of the crossover Gold variants players can hunt during Golden Hours.
Is Gold Shadow Sprite Available?
Yes.
Gold Shadow Sprite is part of the current Fortnite Gold Sprites lineup.
The normal Shadow Sprite reloads weapons over time, including weapons you are not actively holding, and the Gold version retains that effect.
Is Gold Killswitch Sprite Available?
Yes.
Gold Killswitch Sprite is available alongside the normal and Cheat Master Killswitch variants.
Killswitch is an Epic Sprite associated with Hangtime and improved accuracy.
Is Gold Jackrabbit Sprite Available?
Yes.
Gold Jackrabbit Sprite is currently available.
Jackrabbit is a Legendary Sprite that gives players an additional jump while airborne, making it one of the higher-rarity Fortnite Gold Sprites outside of Klombo and Crown.
Are Gold Jonesy, Bush, Adventure and 8-Bit Available?

Yes.
The Rare base Sprites also have Gold variants:
- Gold Jonesy Sprite
- Gold Bush Sprite
- Gold Adventure Sprite
- Gold 8-Bit Sprite
All four are part of the 11 Fortnite Gold Sprites currently obtainable.
Do Fortnite Gold Sprites Count Separately in the Collection?
Yes.
Gold Sprites have their own collection entries rather than simply changing the appearance of a Base Sprite you already own.
That is why collecting a normal Sonic Sprite does not automatically unlock Gold Sonic, and why the Season 4 tracker can show Base, Cheat Master and Gold versions separately.
For completionists, every variant needs to be collected individually.
Do Fortnite Gold Sprites Go Into the Sprite Garden?
Once successfully extracted, Fortnite Gold Sprites become part of your permanent Sprite collection and can be represented within the wider Sprite Garden system.
That makes hunting Gold variants useful even after the current Battle Royale season has moved on.
The Sprite Garden was designed to preserve collected Sprites rather than treating them as temporary match-only items.
Why Are Some Sites Saying There Are Only 11 Gold Sprites?
Because 11 Fortnite Gold Sprites are currently obtainable.
That statement is correct when talking about the live game today.
However, the full Chapter 7 Season 4 collection contains 12 Gold slots, with Gold Storm Scout completing the set once Storm Scout releases. Fortnite.GG currently separates released Sprites from unreleased entries, while current Season 4 guides identify Storm Scout as the missing later-release Sprite.
So the easiest way to remember it is:
12 Gold variants in the Season 4 collection.
11 Gold variants currently obtainable.
Gold Storm Scout is the missing twelfth variant.
Fortnite Gold Sprites Explained
There are 12 Fortnite Gold Sprites in the complete Chapter 7 Season 4 collection, matching the 12 Base Sprites and 12 Cheat Master variants.
Right now, however, only 11 Fortnite Gold Sprites are obtainable because Storm Scout has not yet been released.
That means seeing 12 Gold slots in your tracker is completely normal. You are not missing a secret Sprite. The final slot belongs to Gold Storm Scout and will remain unavailable until Storm Scout joins the live Sprite pool.
