Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up times are expected to fall several hours after downtime begins at 2:00 AM ET / 7:00 AM BST on August 20, 2026. An exact return time has not been guaranteed, but the current expected window could see Fortnite return at around 6:00 AM ET / 11:00 AM BST.
Players searching for the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up time should treat 11:00 AM BST as an estimate rather than a guaranteed launch time. Epic Games will only restore access once maintenance for the new season is complete.

Players could see Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up from around 6:00 AM ET / 11:00 AM BST.
Downtime is expected to begin four hours earlier at 2:00 AM ET / 7:00 AM BST.
However, Fortnite does not automatically return after four hours. Epic must finish deploying Chapter 7 Season 4 and restore the necessary services before players can log in.
If the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up time passes and the game remains unavailable, maintenance has likely taken longer than expected.

Players should therefore begin checking around 11:00 AM rather than assuming Fortnite will definitely become playable at that exact moment.
Will Fortnite Servers Be Back Up at 6 AM ET?

How Long Will Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Servers Be Down?
Fortnite is expected to remain unavailable for several hours during the Chapter 7 Season 4 update.
A four-hour maintenance period would produce the current Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up estimate of 6:00 AM ET / 11:00 AM BST.
Major season updates can take longer, though.
Epic may need additional time for server-side changes, deployment or unexpected technical issues before allowing players into the new season.
Why Are Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Servers Offline?
Fortnite is going offline so Epic Games can deploy Chapter 7 Season 4.
New season launches involve significantly more changes than routine updates. New content needs to be deployed and Fortnite’s services need to be prepared before players can enter.
This means the Chapter 7 Season 4 update may become available to download before Fortnite itself is playable.
Downloading the update does not mean the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up process has finished.
Can You Download Chapter 7 Season 4 During Downtime?
Yes, the Chapter 7 Season 4 update may become available to download while Fortnite remains offline.
Downloading it during maintenance means you can be ready once the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up period begins.
However, installing the update will not bypass downtime.
Even with the latest update installed, you must wait for Epic to restore the servers before entering Fortnite.
Why Does Fortnite Say Servers Offline After Updating?
If Fortnite still says servers are offline after you install Chapter 7 Season 4, maintenance is probably still underway.
Your game update and Epic’s server maintenance are separate processes.
You can have Chapter 7 Season 4 completely installed while Fortnite remains unavailable.
There is no need to immediately reinstall the game or change your internet settings. Instead, wait until the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up status is confirmed.
Could Chapter 7 Season 4 Downtime Be Extended?
Yes. Chapter 7 Season 4 downtime could be extended if Epic needs additional maintenance time.
That would push the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up time beyond the current estimated window.
Extended downtime does not necessarily indicate a major problem. New Fortnite seasons contain substantial changes, and Epic will keep services offline until the update is ready for players.
How to Check if Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Servers Are Back Up
Players waiting for the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up confirmation can check Epic Games’ official service status information.
Fortnite login, matchmaking and game services need to return before the new season is fully accessible.
Players may also encounter queues immediately after the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up, particularly because large numbers of players will be trying to access the new season simultaneously.
A queue does not necessarily mean Fortnite has gone offline again.
What Happens When Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Servers Come Back Up?
Once Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers return, players with the latest update installed should be able to begin accessing the new season.
The first few hours of a new Fortnite season can be extremely busy.
Players could encounter:
- Login queues
- Matchmaking delays
- Connection errors
- Slow downloads
- Temporary service interruptions
If you encounter one of these problems shortly after the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 servers back up, waiting a few minutes may be all that is required.
