Deadlock Haunts replace the old neutral-camp enemies across the rebuilt City Never Sleeps map. There are 40 Haunt camps using nine different families, and the colour of a Haunt’s eyes shows its tier: teal for Tier I, yellow for Tier II and red for Tier III.
The family name changes the look, movement and local flavour of Deadlock Haunts, while the tier determines the important combat numbers such as health, damage and souls. This makes the new jungle easier to read once you stop treating every strange creature as a completely different reward system.

Deadlock Haunts tier stats
| Tier | Eye colour | Health | DPS | Base souls |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| I | Teal | 129 | 4.8 | 41 + scaling |
| II | Yellow | 322 | 12.3 | 68 + scaling |
| III | Red | 1,133 | 18.2 | 181 + scaling |
Haunt damage grows by 0.5% per minute, while their soul value also scales over time. A camp that is trivial early can therefore become more expensive to clear later if your build falls behind.
All nine Haunt families
The nine Deadlock Haunts families are Barrel Mimic, Crabbage Pot, Festival Spirit, Gutter Ghoul, Slum Shroom, Stage Hand, Underhand, Past Dues and Specimen.
Different families can appear at different tiers. Not every family has all three tier variants, so eye colour remains the fastest way to judge the current camp strength.
Barrel Mimic locations
Barrel Mimic Deadlock Haunts appear at the Docks Large camp and the Haunted Lot Alley Medium camp. Current map data shows six Barrel Mimics across those camps.
They use Tier II and Tier III variants, so do not expect a low-tier teal Barrel Mimic camp.
Crabbage Pot locations
Crabbage Pot Deadlock Haunts guard the Greenwich Gate Large camp and Nursery Downstairs Medium camp. Eight are currently represented on the map.
This family can appear as Tier I, II or III, which makes the eye colour particularly important before committing to the camp.
Festival Spirit locations
Festival Spirit Deadlock Haunts are concentrated in Chinatown. Confirmed camps include Chinatown Bell Large, Chinatown Street Large and Chinatown Fish Medium.
Festival Spirits use Tier II and Tier III forms. Their Chinatown concentration also makes them easy to associate with the new district routing.
Gutter Ghoul locations
Gutter Ghoul is the most widely distributed of the Deadlock Haunts. Current map data shows them across Chinatown Alley, Plaza Rink, Plaza Corner, Haunted Lot Garage Down, Greenwich Chapel, Construction, SW Bodega Upstairs, NW Bank, SE Asylum, Docks Authority and several Sinner’s Sacrifice positions.
They can appear at Tier I, II or III and are common enough that most roaming routes will cross one of their camps.
Slum Shroom locations
Slum Shroom Deadlock Haunts live in the Haunted Lot area, including the Haunted Lot Warehouse Large camp and Haunted Lot Storage Medium camp.
They use Tier II and III forms and currently have six creatures represented on the map.
Stage Hand locations
Stage Hand Deadlock Haunts are tied to the Theater district. Their camps include Theater Stage Large, two Theater Upstairs Medium camps, Theater Stage Medium and Theater Lobby Medium, with a Theater Balcony Sinner’s Sacrifice location also using the family.
Stage Hands appear at all three tiers, making Theater one of the clearest places to learn how the eye-colour difficulty system works.
Underhand locations
Underhand Deadlock Haunts guard camps such as Basketball Large, Theater Down Medium, Haunted Lot Bodega Down Medium, Greenwich Library Roof, HQ Roof, Greenwich Mansion Roof and Haunted Lot Roof.
They can appear at Tier I, II or III and are more geographically spread out than the district-specific Festival Spirits or Slum Shrooms.
Past Dues and Specimen locations
Past Dues Deadlock Haunts appear at HQ Medium and NE Theater Upstairs Medium, using Tier I and II forms. Specimens also use Tier I and II, with camps at Dept Store, Oracle, NW Utility South and SE Utility.
Specimens have a shorter listed attack range than most other Haunt families, while their tier still determines the same basic health, damage and soul structure.
How to choose which camp to farm
The best Deadlock Haunts route depends on your current position, the tier you can clear quickly and whether leaving lane pressure is worth the souls. A nearby Tier I or II camp can be more efficient than crossing the city for a Tier III camp you clear slowly.
Use the new health-bar information and in-world respawn timers to make the jungle less guessy. City Never Sleeps now exposes more neutral information directly in the HUD.
Haunts summary
Deadlock Haunts replace the old neutral enemies with 40 camps, nine themed families and a readable three-tier system. Teal eyes mean Tier I, yellow Tier II and red Tier III.
Learn the family locations for routing, but judge the fight by tier. Health, damage and souls follow the tier system, while the family mainly changes movement, attack behaviour and which part of New York the camp belongs to.
