Crystal of Atlan level 80 progression arrived in the October 28, 2026 update, but reaching level 70 does not automatically give every character the new cap. Once you’re level 70, you must complete the Level Breakthrough quests. That raises your level ceiling to 80 and opens the Hymn of Redemption chapter, the Frozen Sanctuary map and higher-level gear.
The same breakthrough opens the New Fate Chapter event, while additional rewards arrive at levels 75 and 80. The October 28 patch also introduced a separate Ghost in the Shell crossover, which uses its own event activities and currencies. If you’re looking at the new dungeon screen and wondering what you’ve missed, start with the breakthrough quest rather than trying to enter the highest difficulty immediately.
How to unlock Crystal of Atlan level 80
The October 28 update puts the breakthrough at level 70. Open your quest journal after updating and complete the new Level Breakthrough objectives on the character you want to progress. The reward is access to the new level cap, the Hymn of Redemption chapter and Frozen Sanctuary area and the New Fate Chapter event. The announcement does not identify an exact NPC or a universal quest-marker location, so follow the Level Breakthrough objective shown in your character’s current quest journal rather than searching for an invented starting coordinate.
- Update the game and log in after the October 28 maintenance.
- Select a character that has reached level 70.
- Open your quest journal and follow the new Level Breakthrough quests.
- Finish the required objectives to raise that character’s cap to 80.
- Return to the adventure and event menus for Frozen Sanctuary and New Fate Chapter, then continue levelling.
If the breakthrough isn’t showing, check that the character is level 70 and that you’ve installed the October 28 update. Then look through any unfinished quests in your journal. The developer hasn’t named a universal starting NPC, so don’t waste time searching for an unverified location.

The new adventure includes story areas, Elite Dungeons, an additional Abyssal Purgatory difficulty and fresh exploration. These are connected but not identical activities. The high-end Abyssal Purgatory Difficulty III requires a Hunter’s Contract ticket; simply raising the cap isn’t the same as obtaining that entry item.
For Crystal of Atlan level 80, the new gear is an important part of the progression. The update adds level 75 and 80 Epic weapons, armour and trinkets, as well as Eternal pieces. Can you skip the Crystal of Atlan level 80 breakthrough?
There are two paid shortcuts: Ultra Resources includes an Ultra Pass, while Advancer’s Resources (Level 80) includes an Advancer’s Pass. Both can raise the current character directly to level 80. Buying either pack requires at least one character on your account to have finished the Adventure Chapter 7 main quest. The Ultra Resources pack can only be opened by a character at level 70 or higher.
If you want to level normally, you do not need to buy a skip. Complete the breakthrough, progress through Frozen Sanctuary, use the new dungeon rewards to improve your build and collect the rewards at level 75 and level 80. For Crystal of Atlan level 80 players returning after a break, the separate Return to Atlan event can award a level 70 Epic set, but its eligibility depends on inactivity and return-event history.
Why is Crystal of Atlan level 80 still locked?
Check three things in this order: the October 28 game update is installed, the character you’re playing is level 70, and its Level Breakthrough quests are completed. The notes say the breakthrough raises the cap; they do not say the cap appears automatically just from logging in. Check the Journal and your main chapter progress if the breakthrough has not appeared.
If the new adventure is open but a particular dungeon is refusing entry, look at that dungeon’s own ticket or level requirements instead. Difficulty III of Abyssal Purgatory needs a Hunter’s Contract, which is a different restriction from the overall cap. The Crystal of Atlan level 80 launch gives you more to do, but you’ll still need to unlock the right activity and have its required materials.
For normal Crystal of Atlan level 80 progression, complete the level 70 breakthrough, continue into Hymn of Redemption and Frozen Sanctuary, and collect the level-up rewards on your way to 80. There’s no need to buy a skip.
