The best Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 weapons are the ones we would actually choose to carry when a match starts getting serious, not necessarily the guns with the strangest mechanics or the flashiest descriptions.
Season 3 has a surprisingly varied loot pool. You have dependable favourites like the Striker Pump Shotgun and Ranger Pistol sitting alongside newer weapons such as the Surgical Burst Rifle, Extending Focus Shotgun, Chaos Exploder Rifle, Lancehead Pistol and Bank Shot Pistol.
That makes ranking the best Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 weapons slightly more interesting than simply comparing damage numbers.
Some weapons are brilliant because they work in almost every fight. Others are more situational but can completely change an encounter when used properly. A few are simply fun enough that you will pick them up even when you know there is probably a safer option sitting nearby.
Our ranking focuses on normal Battle Royale usefulness, how easily each weapon fits into a sensible loadout and, most importantly, whether we would actually swap what we were already carrying when we found one.
Best Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Weapons
For us, the best Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 weapons are:
- Striker Pump Shotgun
- Surgical Burst Rifle
- Ranger Pistol
- Extending Focus Shotgun
- Stinger SMG
- Chaos Exploder Rifle
- Maven Auto Shotgun
- Flex SMG
- Hunting Rifle
- Bank Shot Pistol
- Lancehead Pistol
There is plenty of room to argue with that order.
A confident shotgun player may immediately put the Striker Pump at number one without hesitation, while someone who prefers maintaining distance may value the Surgical Burst Rifle much more.
That is part of what makes this Season 3 loot pool enjoyable. There is no single weapon that makes every other option irrelevant.
1. Striker Pump Shotgun
A slow-firing, high-damage pump shotgun built around accurate close-range shots. Pump-action shotgun with strong single-shot damage. Available in the Chapter 7 Season 3 loot pool.
Striker Pump Shotgun
Rarity DPS Damage Structure Fire Rate Magazine Reload Max Damage Headshot Common 67.67 101 0.67 5 5.39s 180 1.85x Uncommon 71.02 106 0.67 5 5.14s 185 1.85x Rare 75.04 112 0.67 5 4.90s 190 1.85x Epic 79.06 118 0.67 5 4.66s 195 1.85x Legendary 82.41 123 0.67 5 4.41s 201 1.85x Mythic 86.43 129 0.67 5 4.16s 234 1.85x

The Striker Pump Shotgun remains our favourite weapon in the current Season 3 pool because it does exactly what you want a Fortnite shotgun to do.
It hits hard, rewards good aim and can completely turn a close-range fight if you land the shot that matters.
There are technically more unusual shotguns available this season, but sometimes reliability wins.
When a player suddenly appears around a corner or pushes into your space, there is a comfort in knowing exactly how the Striker Pump behaves. You are not waiting for a three-shot volley or trying to learn an unusual rhythm. You aim, fire and hope you have put the crosshair in the right place.
That simplicity is not boring when there are five players left and somebody has just jumped into your face.
Would we drop a weaker close-range option for a good Striker Pump? Almost every time.
That alone earns it the top spot among the best Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 weapons.
2. Surgical Burst Rifle
A precise three-round burst assault rifle with low recoil and limited damage falloff, built for controlled mid-to-long-range fights. Three-round burst with low recoil, First Shot Accuracy and Checkpoint Reload. Available in the Chapter 7 Season 3 standard Battle Royale and Zero Build loot pool.
Surgical Burst Rifle
Rarity DPS Damage Structure Fire Rate Magazine Reload Max Damage Headshot Common 133.17 23 23 5.79 30 3.08s 1.5x Uncommon 138.96 24 25 5.79 30 2.94s 1.5x Rare 144.75 25 26 5.79 30 2.80s 1.5x Epic 150.54 26 27 5.79 30 2.66s 1.5x Legendary 162.12 28 29 5.79 30 2.52s 1.5x

The Surgical Burst Rifle comes extremely close to taking first place.
Epic introduced it in Chapter 7 Season 3 as a precise three-round burst rifle with low recoil and minimal damage falloff.
That makes it wonderfully dependable in the mid-range fights that happen constantly in Battle Royale.
The best thing about the Surgical Burst Rifle is how calm it feels.
There is no need to spray wildly and hope half the magazine connects. Give yourself a clean angle, settle the aim and let the burst do the work.
It also fits into almost any loadout.
Pair it with a Striker Pump or another strong close-range weapon and you immediately have answers for most ordinary fights.
If we were choosing one Season 3 weapon to survive the move into Chapter 7 Season 4, the Surgical Burst Rifle would be very difficult to leave behind.
3. Ranger Pistol
A dependable automatic pistol with strong per-shot damage, a 17-round magazine and a high headshot multiplier. Fully automatic pistol with a 2x headshot multiplier in the latest fully documented stat set. Available in the Chapter 7 Season 3 loot pool. It received further balance adjustments during v41.20.
Ranger Pistol
Rarity DPS Damage Structure Fire Rate Magazine Reload Max Damage Headshot Common 170.8 28 27 6.1 17 1.60s 2x Uncommon 176.9 29 28 6.1 17 1.52s 2x Rare 189.1 31 30 6.1 17 1.45s 2x Epic 201.3 33 32 6.1 17 1.38s 2x Legendary 207.4 34 33 6.1 17 1.30s 2x

The Ranger Pistol is one of those weapons that is very easy to underestimate until you actually start relying on it.
It does not have the novelty of the Bank Shot Pistol or Lancehead Pistol, but that is almost the point.
It is straightforward, dependable and useful across more situations than you might expect from a pistol.
A good pistol becomes particularly valuable when you do not want to waste a primary weapon slot on another short-to-mid-range option.
The Ranger Pistol fills that role nicely.
It is also one of the weapons we are least likely to complain about finding early in a match. You know you can work with it until something better appears, and sometimes you realise you have kept it much longer than planned.
Not every strong Fortnite weapon needs a gimmick.
The Ranger Pistol earns third because it quietly gets the job done.
4. Extending Focus Shotgun
A fast-firing long-range shotgun built around a three-round volley. Its spread tightens as the volley continues, making later shots more precise. Three-round volley; spread tightens through the volley. Available in the Chapter 7 Season 3 standard loot pool from normal weapon sources.
Extending Focus Shotgun
Rarity DPS Damage Structure Fire Rate Magazine Reload Max Damage Headshot Common 145.25 83 41 1.75 3 2.53s 120 1.7x Uncommon 152.25 87 44 1.75 3 2.41s 125 1.7x Rare 161 92 45 1.75 3 2.30s 130 1.7x Epic 168 96 48 1.75 3 2.18s 135 1.7x Legendary 176.75 101 50 1.75 3 2.07s 140 1.7x

The Extending Focus Shotgun is probably the most interesting shotgun added during Season 3.
Epic describes it as a longer-range shotgun whose barrel extends while the spread tightens across a three-round volley.
That three-shot rhythm takes a little getting used to.
If you approach it like a standard pump shotgun and immediately swap weapons after the first shot, you are not really getting the best from it.
Once the rhythm clicks, though, it becomes much more satisfying.
The tightening spread also means it remains useful at distances where some shotguns start feeling uncomfortable.
We still prefer the immediate simplicity of the Striker Pump in high-pressure close-range fights, but the Extending Focus Shotgun is a brilliant alternative for players who like a little more flexibility.
It is one of the Season 3 weapons we would happily see return later.
5. Stinger SMG
A very fast-firing SMG built for close-range pressure, with enough control to remain useful in short bursts at medium range. High fire rate and strong structure DPS; the Rare rarity has Checkpoint Reload in the current Chapter 7 Season 3 version. Available in the Chapter 7 Season 3 standard loot pool.
Stinger SMG
Rarity DPS Damage Structure Fire Rate Magazine Reload Max Damage Headshot Common 184 16 18 11.5 33 2.75s 1.5x Uncommon 195.5 17 19 11.5 33 2.63s 1.5x Rare 207 18 20 11.5 33 2.50s 1.5x Epic 218.5 19 21 11.5 33 2.38s 1.5x Legendary 230 20 22 11.5 33 2.25s 1.5x Mythic 241.5 21 23 11.5 33 2.12s 1.5x

The Stinger SMG is exactly the sort of weapon that becomes useful when a fight gets messy.
It is fast, aggressive and very good at keeping pressure on somebody who is trying to escape or recover.
That makes it a natural partner for a shotgun.
Land the big initial hit, switch to the Stinger and keep pushing before the other player has time to reset.
It is not the weapon we would build an entire loadout around, but it does not need to be.
Its job is to finish fights.
And when it does that well, there is very little to complain about.
6. Chaos Exploder Rifle
Dark Voyager-themed heavy assault rifle that fires explosive cubes, giving it extra value against enemies using cover. Fires explosive cube projectiles that can pressure enemies around cover. Introduced at the start of Chapter 7 Season 3 and vaulted from the standard loot pool on June 11, 2026. Chapter 7 Season 3: added June 6, 2026; vaulted June 11, 2026.
Chaos Exploder Rifle

The Chaos Exploder Rifle is one of the stranger additions to Chapter 7 Season 3.
Epic introduced it as Dark Voyager’s heavy assault rifle, firing explosive cubes that are particularly useful against opponents relying on cover.
That makes it valuable for a completely different reason from a standard AR.
Sometimes the annoying part of a Fortnite fight is not hitting the opponent. It is convincing them to stop hiding behind whatever convenient object they have found.
The Chaos Exploder Rifle helps with exactly that.
Its explosive projectiles can force movement and create openings that a normal rifle simply cannot.
Would we carry it every match? Probably not.
Would we enjoy having one when somebody has been crouched behind the same piece of cover for 30 seconds? Absolutely.
That situational value is enough to keep it comfortably in the upper half of the best Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 weapons.
7. Maven Auto Shotgun
A fully automatic shotgun with fast follow-up shots and a seven-shell magazine. Fully automatic shotgun; reloads shells individually. Available in the Chapter 7 Season 3 standard loot pool.
Maven Auto Shotgun
Rarity DPS Damage Structure Fire Rate Magazine Reload Max Damage Headshot Common 124 80 42 1.55 7 5.72s 125 1.75x Uncommon 131.75 85 43 1.55 7 5.46s 130 1.75x Rare 137.95 89 45 1.55 7 5.20s 135 1.75x Epic 144.15 93 48 1.55 7 4.94s 140 1.75x Legendary 151.9 98 50 1.55 7 4.68s 145 1.75x

The Maven Auto Shotgun is the comfortable option.
It may not offer the huge single-shot satisfaction of a Striker Pump or the unusual mechanics of the Extending Focus Shotgun, but its faster follow-up shots make it forgiving.
That matters.
Not every player lands the first shotgun shot perfectly, and the Maven gives you more freedom to correct a mistake without immediately losing the fight.
For newer or less confident shotgun players, that can make it feel better than weapons we have technically ranked above it.
The downside is that once you become comfortable landing stronger shotgun hits, the Maven can feel slightly less rewarding.
Still, there are plenty of matches where consistent damage is more valuable than chasing one massive shot.
8. Flex SMG
A flexible SMG with different hip-fire and ADS behaviour, offering a faster spray from the hip and heavier, slower shots while aiming. Changes fire behaviour while aiming down sights: lower fire rate and higher per-shot damage than hip-fire. Available earlier in Chapter 7 Season 3, then vaulted from the core loot pool with v41.20 on July 16, 2026. Chapter 7 Season 3: available from launch; vaulted July 16, 2026 with v41.20.

The Flex SMG is another useful close-range option, but it faces stiff competition.
The current Season 3 loot pool contains several weapons capable of filling the same broad role, and limited inventory space means something eventually has to lose.
The Flex SMG is perfectly usable and can be very effective when you stay aggressive.
The problem is that we generally find ourselves more excited to see a good Stinger SMG or a strong shotgun.
That does not make the Flex bad.
It simply makes it the victim of a crowded category.
9. Hunting Rifle
A fast-handling single-shot rifle with no scope, high headshot damage and no damage falloff. Single-shot, no-scope long-range weapon with First Shot Accuracy and a 2.75x headshot multiplier in the latest documented stats. Available earlier in Chapter 7 Season 3 and vaulted from the core loot pool with v41.20 on July 16, 2026. Chapter 7 Season 3: returned June 6, 2026; vaulted July 16, 2026 with v41.20.

The Hunting Rifle is one of the most satisfying weapons in Fortnite when your aim is behaving.
There is something wonderfully clean about landing a well-timed long-range shot with it.
The problem is everything that happens when your aim is not behaving.
Unlike the more forgiving rifles in the loot pool, the Hunting Rifle asks you to commit to the shot. Miss too many opportunities and suddenly that inventory slot begins to feel expensive.
For confident long-range players, it could easily rank higher than ninth.
For everyone else, the Surgical Burst Rifle is simply easier to trust across an entire match.
10. Bank Shot Pistol
A single-shot trick-shot pistol whose projectiles ricochet off walls, floors and other surfaces to hit enemies from unexpected angles. Aim down sights to preview a ricochet path. Ricochet hits receive a damage bonus; the weapon reloads after each single-round shot. Added with v41.20 on July 16, 2026 and available through the standard Battle Royale loot pool.
Bank Shot Pistol
Rarity DPS Damage Structure Fire Rate Magazine Reload Max Damage Headshot Rare 89 1.2 1 1.80s

The Bank Shot Pistol might be the funniest weapon in the current loot pool.
Epic introduced it later in Season 3 with the ability to fire around corners.
That is such a Fortnite idea.
When the situation is right, it can create genuinely clever angles and let you apply pressure without exposing yourself normally.
The problem is that the perfect situation does not appear often enough.
There are matches where the Bank Shot Pistol feels brilliant and matches where you realise you have been carrying it for ten minutes without using the mechanic once.
We would absolutely pick one up for fun.
Would we trust it with the match on the line over the weapons above it?
Probably not.
11. Lancehead Pistol
John Wick’s fast-firing sidearm with a 21-round magazine and a reload mechanic that can turn the discarded magazine into extra damage. When an enemy is close during a reload, the discarded magazine can be thrown at them for additional damage. Supports tactical reloads. Available in the Chapter 7 Season 3 standard loot pool.

The Lancehead Pistol gets last place, although that sounds harsher than it really is.
Epic introduced John Wick’s sidearm with a 21-round magazine and the wonderfully unnecessary ability to throw the discarded magazine at nearby enemies while reloading.
That mechanic gives it plenty of personality.
It is exactly the sort of detail Fortnite does better than almost any other Battle Royale.
The trouble is that personality does not automatically earn an inventory slot.
There are simply too many other Season 3 weapons we would rather carry when the match becomes serious.
Still, if somebody gets eliminated by a magazine you threw at them while reloading, rankings suddenly stop mattering.
Best Shotgun in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3
The Striker Pump Shotgun is our pick for the best shotgun in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3.
The Extending Focus Shotgun is close, and players who enjoy its three-round volley may prefer it.
For us, though, the Striker Pump wins because of its reliability under pressure.
Close-range fights happen quickly.
You often do not have time to think about mechanics or perfect weapon rhythms. You need something that rewards one clean opportunity.
The Striker Pump does exactly that.
Best Assault Rifle in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3
The Surgical Burst Rifle is our favourite rifle in the Season 3 loot pool.
Its low recoil and precise burst make it one of the easiest weapons to trust at medium range, while the limited damage falloff keeps it useful as fights stretch further out.
The Chaos Exploder Rifle is more interesting mechanically, but the Surgical Burst Rifle is the one we would choose for ordinary matches.
Reliable usually beats clever when you are trying to win.
Best Pistol in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3
The Ranger Pistol takes this one.
The Lancehead and Bank Shot Pistols are both far more entertaining, but the Ranger Pistol is the one we would rather have when we simply need a pistol to work.
That is not a criticism of the more experimental weapons.
They make the loot pool more memorable.
The Ranger Pistol just happens to be the better everyday choice.
Most Fun Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Weapon
The Bank Shot Pistol wins this category easily.
Firing around corners is ridiculous enough to make even an average fight more entertaining.
The Lancehead Pistol comes second purely because throwing a magazine at someone during a reload remains one of those mechanics that sounds like somebody made it up five minutes before a meeting and Epic decided to ship it anyway.
Neither needs to be the strongest weapon in Fortnite to justify existing.
Sometimes fun is enough.
Which Fortnite Season 3 Weapons Should Return?
If we could choose three Season 3 weapons to carry into another season, we would keep the Surgical Burst Rifle, Extending Focus Shotgun and Chaos Exploder Rifle.
The Surgical Burst Rifle deserves another run because it is simply useful.
The Extending Focus Shotgun adds a genuinely different shotgun rhythm.
The Chaos Exploder Rifle changes how you deal with players using cover.
The Bank Shot Pistol and Lancehead Pistol are the sort of weapons we would rather see disappear for a while and eventually return when their gimmicks feel fresh again.
As for the Striker Pump, Ranger Pistol and other returning weapons, Fortnite has already proven they can work across multiple seasons.
Best Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Weapons Overall
The best Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 weapons ultimately depend on how you like to play.
Our ranking favours reliability slightly more than novelty, which is why the Striker Pump Shotgun, Surgical Burst Rifle and Ranger Pistol occupy the top three spots.
The Extending Focus Shotgun and Chaos Exploder Rifle deserve plenty of credit for making the Season 3 arsenal feel different, while the Bank Shot Pistol and Lancehead Pistol bring exactly the kind of strange mechanics that keep Fortnite from becoming predictable.
With Chapter 7 Season 4 approaching, the bigger question is how many of these weapons will still be worth talking about once the new loot pool arrives.
Whatever happens next, Season 3 has at least given players plenty to argue about when choosing the best Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 weapons.
