The Forge Best Ores early on are Copper, Iron, Silver and Gold. They come from accessible Stonewake’s Cross rocks and can support your first equipment without chasing rare drops. In Forgotten Kingdom, Cobalt and Titanium are better mid-game options once you’ve bought a pickaxe powerful enough for Basalt nodes.
The game’s ore multipliers affect forged item stats, while special ores may also add traits. Here’s where to mine each useful material, which node types can drop it and why mixing an expensive ore with a large amount of weak stone rarely produces a good weapon.

The Forge Best Ores in Stonewake’s Cross
Mine Pebbles and ordinary Rocks at the start. Copper appears in Pebbles, Rocks and Boulders and has a 0.3x multiplier, with a commonly listed 1-in-3 drop chance. Iron comes from the same nodes, reportedly 1 in 5 with a 0.35x multiplier. Both are common enough to practise the forge minigames without losing valuable ore. Tin, reported around 1 in 7 with a 0.425x multiplier, comes from Rocks and Boulders. Look for higher-value ore as soon as you can mine those larger nodes efficiently.
Silver, Gold and Platinum locations
Silver comes from Rocks and Boulders in Stonewake’s Cross at a reported 1-in-12 chance and a 0.5x multiplier. Gold comes from Boulders at around 1 in 16 with a 0.65x multiplier. Platinum is also a Boulder drop, reportedly 1 in 28 with a 0.8x multiplier. The Forge Best Ores for most first-island players are Silver and Gold: they improve your forging mix without forcing you to farm a rare Platinum drop. The reported probabilities are chances, not guaranteed ore after a specific number of nodes.
The Forge Best Ores in Forgotten Kingdom
The second region introduces Basalt Rocks and Basalt Cores. Cobalt appears in those nodes at a commonly reported 1-in-37 chance and 1.0x multiplier. Titanium shares the sources, but has a lower reported rate of 1 in 50 and a stronger 1.15x multiplier. Lapis Lazuli is listed at 1 in 73 and 1.3x. Quartz and Amethyst become later goals in Basalt Cores and Veins. If the node is too tough, improve your pickaxe first; mining luck cannot make a starter Pebble drop ore exclusive to Forgotten Kingdom.

How The Forge Best Ores affect your multiplier
An expensive ore isn’t always the best ingredient for your first weapon. The forge averages the multipliers of all ores in your mixture, weighted by how many pieces you use. Nine Copper at 0.3x and one Titanium at 1.15x produce a 0.385x average, not 1.15x. Adding more of the higher-multiplier material changes the result. Your weapon or armour family, the number of ores and how well you perform during the forging minigames also influence the finished item.
The Forge Best Ores with useful traits
Rivalite, from Basalt Veins and Volcanic Rocks, can raise weapon critical chance. Obsidian from Volcanic Rocks increases armour defence. Fireite supplies burn effects and Magmaite can trigger an explosion; both come from Volcanic Rocks. These traits are tied to equipment types, so check the ore description before adding it to a weapon or armour batch. A trait’s share of the recipe affects its strength: community tables show a partial effect at about 10% of the mixture and its full effect at 30%. A 20-ore recipe therefore needs two or six pieces of the trait ore, respectively.
Early and mid-game farming route
Start your progression with a simple Copper or Iron weapon, then sell spare low-grade ore to fund a pickaxe that can comfortably handle Boulders. Build up Silver and Gold, then enter Forgotten Kingdom with workable combat equipment and mine its Basalt nodes for Cobalt and Titanium. Store scarce trait-bearing ore until you know what you’re forging. If an ore never appears, check that you’re mining a compatible rock and have sufficient power.
The Forge Best Ores by progression stage
| Progress | Ore | Mine here | Why keep it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| New player | Copper / Iron | Pebble and Rock | Affordable practice crafts |
| Boulder access | Silver / Gold | Silver from Rock or Boulder; Gold from Boulder | Higher base multiplier |
| Forgotten Kingdom | Cobalt / Titanium | Basalt Rock / Core | 1.0x–1.15x equipment mix |
| Later second-world mining | Quartz / Amethyst | Basalt Core and Vein | Better late-game forging materials |
For The Forge Best Ores, reaching the correct rock matters more than spending hours farming a node that cannot contain your target. Keep the ores you need for your next weapon or armour recipe; sell surplus through the game’s selling interface. Our Forge codes page covers promotional race rerolls, while the Forge code archive records older offers.
Before your first Forgotten Kingdom trip, bring a Basalt-capable pickaxe and a weapon strong enough for the enemies around the mining nodes. Focus on gathering complete batches of Cobalt and Titanium instead of chasing one unusually rare drop.
