Escape From Playtime PC Requirements: Minimum and Recommended Specs

Escape From Playtime release date

Escape From Playtime PC requirements are now listed on the official Steam page ahead of the game’s 21 October 2026 Early Access launch. The minimum configuration calls for 8 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1650 or Radeon RX 470, while the recommended list moves up to 16 GB and an RTX 3070 or RX 6800 XT.

Mob Entertainment’s co-op horror game takes you into a changing version of the Playtime Co. factory, where you can explore alone or with friends. Before you buy it, here’s what your PC needs and what the published hardware list does and doesn’t tell us about performance.

Minimum and recommended PC specifications

To check your own system on Windows, open Settings → System → About for the processor and installed RAM. For the graphics chip, open Task Manager → Performance → GPU. Compare the actual CPU and GPU names with the table below. If you have a laptop, check its dedicated graphics chip rather than assuming a strong processor means the GPU meets the minimum.

For Escape From Playtime PC requirements, Mob Entertainment has provided separate minimum and recommended configurations. Both specify Windows 10 or 11, a 64-bit processor and DirectX 12. The GPU and CPU differences are considerable, so it’s worth checking your machine against the correct column.

ComponentMinimumRecommended

There isn’t a target resolution or frame rate attached to those configurations in the Steam listing. Minimum and recommended are useful benchmarks, but the page doesn’t claim a specific 1080p, 1440p or 60 FPS result for either one.

Can you run Escape From Playtime with 8 GB RAM?

Yes, 8 GB appears in the published minimum Escape From Playtime PC requirements. That means Mob Entertainment considers it sufficient for the game’s stated baseline hardware configuration, assuming the rest of the computer is also compatible.

However, the Escape From Playtime PC requirements cover more than memory alone. The minimum also names a Core i3-9100 or Ryzen 5 3500 processor and a GTX 1650 or RX 470 graphics card. Meeting the memory figure alone won’t make an older integrated GPU or slower CPU equivalent to the full minimum specification.

For a machine you use for other applications at the same time, it helps to close demanding background programs before playing. The recommended requirement is 16 GB, which gives the system more room to handle Windows and the game together.

You can use the Escape From Playtime PC requirements table to check whether your graphics card is listed at the minimum tier or better.

What graphics card does Escape From Playtime need?

For the minimum Escape From Playtime PC requirements, Steam names the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 and AMD Radeon RX 470. The recommended specification lists an RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6800 XT. The jump between those cards suggests the developers anticipate substantially different experiences at the two hardware tiers.

That said, the Steam listing doesn’t specify exactly which graphical options, resolutions or frame rates each card will handle. A GTX 1650 is a reference point for the minimum, not a tested guarantee of performance at a particular graphics preset.

The Early Access version may also change as the developers improve optimisation and add content. Mob describes performance, hardware compatibility and bug fixes as areas it intends to improve during development.

Is an install size listed on Steam?

The published Escape From Playtime PC requirements currently contain processor, memory, graphics, operating system and DirectX information, but no specific storage-capacity figure in the listed minimum or recommended fields.

That means you should check the Steam download information when the game becomes available rather than relying on a speculative install size. Also leave room for Windows, temporary installation files and updates, since an Early Access game can receive several patches.

At launch, Steam’s installed size and the download transfer size may differ because files are compressed during delivery. They aren’t interchangeable numbers when you’re deciding whether a nearly full SSD has enough space.

Does Escape From Playtime work on Steam Deck?

Steam currently shows Escape From Playtime’s Steam Deck compatibility as unknown, which sits separately from the Escape From Playtime PC requirements. That’s not the same as an officially verified compatible or incompatible verdict. It simply means the store hasn’t provided a formal compatibility result for the game.

The Escape From Playtime PC requirements name Windows 10/11 as the supported operating system. Steam Deck runs SteamOS by default, so the listed Windows specifications don’t establish SteamOS compatibility.

For anyone planning to buy specifically for a handheld, waiting for a Steam Deck compatibility update or real gameplay testing after the 21 October release will offer more confidence than the current listing.

When does Escape From Playtime launch?

Mob Entertainment has scheduled the game for 21 October 2026 through Steam Early Access. It features solo play and online co-op with up to eight participants, proximity voice chat, procedurally changing areas and a starter zone at launch.
