Stellar Blade Complete Edition official Nintendo Switch 2 gameplay image 03

Stellar Blade Switch 2 Demo is listed as available on Nintendo’s official Complete Edition page, giving players a chance to try EVE’s stylish action before the full release on 5 November 2026. You won’t need to buy Complete Edition just to look for the free trial in the eShop.

The demo is a separate download from the £54.99 Complete Edition, which unlocks in the UK on 5 November at 3 PM GMT. Here’s how to find the free trial on your console, what it lets you try and how to prepare for the full release.

Stellar Blade Switch 2 Demo: Where to find the demo

Open the Nintendo eShop on Switch 2 and search for Stellar Blade Complete Edition. Choose the official SHIFT UP listing and look for its demo download option. Nintendo’s UK product page explicitly labels the game as having a demo available.

Be careful not to confuse the Complete Edition purchase button with the demo. The paid game is scheduled for November 5, while the free trial has its own download option.

Stellar Blade Switch 2 Demo: How to download Stellar Blade’s demo

Sign into your Nintendo Account on Switch 2, visit the game’s eShop page and select the free demo download where offered. Wait for the software icon to appear on your HOME screen and let installation finish before launching.

You don’t need the NieR or NIKKE crossover packs to run the demo. They’re part of the paid Complete Edition, and the demo’s exact content scope should be checked in its own listing.

Stellar Blade Switch 2 Demo: What gameplay can you expect?

Stellar Blade centres on EVE’s fights against the Naytiba, with timing-based attacks, dodges and parries. The full game offers unlockable skills, weapon improvements, boss battles and exploration around Earth’s abandoned locations.

In the demo, start by learning how EVE attacks, guards, dodges and parries. These are the foundations of the full game’s combat. The NieR, NIKKE and Bayonetta crossover outfits are part of the announced Complete Edition content rather than a reason to download the trial.

Stellar Blade Switch 2 Demo: Does progress carry over?

Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing does not confirm demo save-data transfer into Complete Edition. Some earlier releases have supported trial-to-game transfers, but that isn’t enough to promise the same behaviour for a new platform build.

Keep the demo installed and leave its save data on your Switch 2 if you plan to buy the full game. The game’s Save Data Cloud listing is for Nintendo save backups and does not by itself enable demo-to-full-game transfers.

Stellar Blade Switch 2 Demo: Can you play in handheld mode?

The full Switch 2 edition officially supports handheld, tabletop and TV modes. Nintendo also lists touchscreen features and HDR output on compatible televisions.

Use the normal Switch 2 controls for combat. Nintendo and SHIFT UP promote optional Joy-Con 2 motion controls for activities such as fishing in the full edition, rather than requiring motion input for EVE’s attacks.

Stellar Blade Switch 2 Demo: How much space does the demo need?

Nintendo UK’s full-game download size is now 25.3 GB, but the demo is a separate download with its own space requirement. Check the demo listing in the eShop for the amount you’ll actually install.

If your Switch 2 storage is nearly full, archive an unused game or use a compatible microSD Express card. Leave a little extra space for the installation instead of aiming for an exact number.

Stellar Blade Switch 2 Demo: When does the full game release?

Complete Edition launches on Thursday, 5 November 2026 at 3 PM GMT. It includes the NieR:Automata and NIKKE collaborations and four free Bayonetta outfits. Some included crossover activities are tied to normal story progression.

Nintendo also lists preorder rewards consisting of Classic Round Glasses, Ear Armour Earrings and the White Edition Planet Diving Suit. Those cosmetics aren’t guaranteed to appear in the free demo.
