Fortnite Reload Springfield releases with the July 30 Fortnite update following scheduled server downtime.

Once maintenance is complete, the Springfield version of Reload will become available for players across Battle Royale, Zero Build, and Reload playlists where applicable.

What Is Fortnite Reload Springfield?

Fortnite Reload Springfield is a complete Simpsons-themed version of Fortnite Reload.

Rather than simply adding Homer Simpson and cosmetic items, Epic has redesigned large parts of the Reload experience with:

  • Springfield replacing the existing map
  • New Simpsons-themed loot
  • Brand-new weapons
  • The Confidential POI
  • John Wick Sprite
  • Ranked reward refresh
  • Map Mastery rewards
  • Gameplay improvements
  • New Reload quests

The update is one of the largest Reload content drops since the mode launched.

The Confidential Is the Biggest New POI

One of the headline additions in Fortnite Reload Springfield is The Confidential.

Unlike every other location on the map, The Confidential introduces its own rules.

Inside the building:

  • Passive healing is enabled.
  • Proximity Chat is active.
  • Players can freely talk with nearby opponents.
  • Combat is completely forbidden.

If a player attacks someone inside The Confidential, they immediately become Excommunicado.

This places a bounty on that player for the entire lobby, creating one of the most unique risk-and-reward mechanics Fortnite has ever introduced.

We’ll be covering this location in much more detail in our dedicated The Confidential Fortnite guide.

What Happens If You Become Excommunicado?

Players who attack someone inside The Confidential receive the Excommunicado status.

While this makes them a target for everyone else on the map, it also comes with several powerful bonuses.

Known effects include:

EffectDescription
Unlimited staminaSprint without restrictions
Faster reload speedReload weapons more quickly
Visible to everyoneOther players know your location
Only one active playerOnly one player can hold the status at a time

Eliminating the Excommunicado player rewards opponents with:

  • 1,500 Gold
  • Improved loot

This creates an interesting decision between breaking the rules for powerful buffs or playing it safe.

John Wick Sprite Arrives in Fortnite Reload Springfield

Another major addition is the John Wick Sprite.

Unlike previous Sprites, this version appears to be exclusive to Reload.

The John Wick Sprite can be found through:

  • Floor loot
  • Chests

Its current perk reveals nearby enemies for both you and your squad, making it one of the strongest information tools introduced to Reload so far.

Interestingly, current information suggests the John Wick Sprite does not level up like previous Sprite companions.

We’ll also have a full John Wick Sprite Fortnite guide covering spawn methods, abilities, and the best ways to use it.

Simpsons Weapons and Loot

Fortnite Reload Springfield also introduces a completely new Simpsons-themed loot pool.

Known items include:

Weapon or ItemType
Cartoon ChainsawMelee weapon
Five-GunWeapon
Mr. BlastyWeapon
Krusty’s Mr. BlastyWeapon variant
Cobalt SlingshotWeapon
Super SquisheeHealing item
Krusty BurgerConsumable
Blinky FishConsumable
Deodorant ApplicatorUtility item

Several of these weapons feature unique models inspired by classic Simpsons characters and locations.

Quality-of-Life Improvements

The Fortnite Reload Springfield update also introduces several gameplay improvements.

Ranked Improvements

Players will now keep their Skill Rating when Ranks reset, helping matchmaking remain more balanced.

Epic is also adding a much more detailed post-match Ranked screen showing exactly how eliminations and placements affected your progression.

Better Solo Reboots

Solo players now have another chance to stay in the fight.

If your reboot timer is close to expiring, dealing damage to opponents fills a progress meter.

Completing the meter grants an additional reboot.

Chests Refill

Looting quickly no longer guarantees every chest stays empty.

Chests can now refill later during matches, allowing players returning to an area another opportunity to find useful loot.

Improved Elimination Marker

Epic has also increased the size and visibility of elimination markers.

The skull icon now remains visible for longer, making it easier to locate where fights have taken place.

New Ranked and Map Mastery Rewards

The July 30 update also refreshes both Reload Ranked rewards and Reload Map Mastery rewards.

Existing cosmetics will be removed once downtime begins, with a brand-new collection replacing them.

If there are rewards you still want, make sure to unlock them before the update goes live.

We’ll have complete reward lists once Epic officially reveals every cosmetic.

Simpsons John Wick Outfit

Players who own the Battle Pass will also be able to unlock a Simpsons-inspired version of John Wick.

Current information suggests:

  • Available after the July 30 update
  • Requires completing Reload quests
  • Battle Pass ownership is required
  • Unlocks as a bonus cosmetic

It quickly looks set to become one of the most popular crossover outfits released this season.

Is Fortnite Reload Springfield Permanent?

Epic Games has not confirmed whether Fortnite Reload Springfield will remain permanently available.

However, given the size of the update and the amount of exclusive gameplay attached to it, there’s every chance Springfield will remain the active Reload map for a significant period before another rotation arrives.

Fortnite Reload Springfield Is More Than Just a New Map

At first glance, Fortnite Reload Springfield looks like a simple Simpsons collaboration. In reality, it’s one of the biggest gameplay updates Reload has received.

Between The Confidential, the Excommunicado mechanic, the John Wick Sprite, refreshed rewards, brand-new weapons, and multiple quality-of-life improvements, the update changes how Reload matches play from start to finish.

If you’re planning to jump into Reload after the July 30 update, Springfield looks set to offer one of Fortnite’s most unique experiences yet.
