ARK Tek Cloning Chamber limit is a new placement restriction introduced with ARK: Survival Ascended v97 on 6 November 2026. On official servers, a tribe can have no more than 10 chambers within a 1,000-metre radius and 50 deployed chambers overall. Both limits apply, so spare room in your tribe-wide allowance doesn’t guarantee you can build another one nearby.
It also limits Tek Replicators to one per platform saddle. If a placement is suddenly being refused, don’t start tearing down your base. First work out whether you’ve hit the local radius cap, the tribe-wide cap or the separate saddle limit.
ARK Tek Cloning Chamber limit on official servers

The official rules have two parts. A tribe can place a maximum of 10 chambers within 1,000 metres and 50 chambers in total. You must stay under both limits, even if your cloning rooms are spread across several bases.
| Restriction | Official-server default |
|---|---|
| Local Tek Cloning Chambers | 10 within a 1,000-metre radius per tribe |
| Total Tek Cloning Chambers | 50 deployed across the entire tribe |
| Tek Replicators on a platform saddle | 1 placed per saddle |
Why your new cloning chamber cannot be placed
Say your tribe has 20 chambers overall, but ten are packed inside the same local radius. A further chamber in that area can still be blocked. And if you’ve already placed 50 across the map, building farther away won’t help either.
The ARK Tek Cloning Chamber limit governs placement. Wildcard hasn’t announced a change to cloning recipes or creature stats as part of these restrictions.
Game.ini cloning chamber settings
If you own an unofficial server, you can adjust the ARK Tek Cloning Chamber limit using these three Game.ini settings. They’re the defaults Wildcard published with v97:
LimitCloningChambersRange=10000
LimitCloningChambersInRangeNum=10
LimitCloningChambersInTribeNum=50
LimitCloningChambersRange=10000 is the published configuration value for range. The number is given in engine units, not metres. Don’t enter 1,000 or 10,000 assuming the number in Game.ini is measured the same way as the official-server distance.
LimitCloningChambersInRangeNum sets the local count: 0 blocks new placement and -1 removes that cap. LimitCloningChambersInTribeNum controls the tribe-wide count and also supports -1 for unlimited.
How to remove the ARK Tek Cloning Chamber limit
An unofficial server admin can remove both count limits by setting LimitCloningChambersInRangeNum=-1 and LimitCloningChambersInTribeNum=-1. That won’t work as a client-side workaround on an official server.
Use your host’s established server configuration process and test a new placement afterwards. The patch notes don’t give a universal hosting-panel location or INI section for every provider.
One Tek Replicator per platform saddle
The platform-saddle rule is separate: one Tek Replicator per platform saddle by default, regardless of your cloning-chamber count. Unofficial servers can change it with this key:
LimitReplicatorsPerSaddle=1
With LimitReplicatorsPerSaddle, a value of 1 allows one, 0 allows none and -1 removes the cap. Changing your cloning chamber settings does not change this saddle limit.
ARK Tek Cloning Chamber limit on unofficial servers
Yes. On unofficial servers, the ARK Tek Cloning Chamber limit depends on the admin’s configured range and counts. The official 10-within-1,000-metres and 50-per-tribe limits are the reference point, not a guarantee for every private world.
If you’re below those counts and still can’t place a chamber, check the server’s actual rules and version. An unofficial host may use different limits.
Other tribe limits added in ARK v97
The same patch changes Gacha feeding above 100 deployed creatures per tribe. The interval goes from 20 to 30 seconds to 60 to 90 seconds, meaning they feed less often. Our Gacha feeding guide has the defaults and unofficial-server settings.
For the wider changes, read our v97 patch notes. If you’re troubleshooting an ARK Tek Cloning Chamber limit warning, check your local chamber concentration and total tribe count before changing anything else.
