All Sims 4 Free CAS Items

The latest Sims 4 free CAS items include six new clothing assets covering several different types of outfits.

EA confirms the collection includes a versatile dress, tops, jeans, cardigans, shirts and slacks. The clothing has been designed to provide more options for Sims across different shapes and sizes rather than focusing on one particular body type.

The six clothing assets are:

  • A versatile dress
  • Tops
  • Jeans
  • Cardigans
  • Shirts
  • Slacks

These pieces are now permanently available through the base game once the latest update has been installed.

How to Get the Sims 4 Free CAS Items

Getting the Sims 4 free CAS items is straightforward because there is no separate pack to download.

Install the August 25 update and then open Create a Sim. The new clothes and hairstyle are added directly to the existing base-game CAS catalogue.

You do not need an Expansion Pack, Game Pack, Stuff Pack, Kit or Marketplace purchase.

If you cannot see the new items, first make sure The Sims 4 is fully updated.

The Sims 4 free CAS items drop also includes a completely new hairstyle called Cosmic Coils.

Cosmic Coils is an afro-textured hairstyle inspired by the art of natural hair sculpting. EA describes the design as a way of expanding cultural representation in Create a Sim while providing a more whimsical option for players.

The hairstyle joins other representation-focused additions made to the base game, including the eight culturally influenced Starter Sims added during July 2026.

Cosmic Coils is not attached to a paid pack and becomes available after installing the August update.

Is Cosmic Coils Free?

Yes. Cosmic Coils is completely free.

There has been quite a lot of new Sims 4 fashion content announced at the same time, so it would be easy to assume the hairstyle belongs to one of the new Capsule Kits.

It doesn’t.

Cosmic Coils is part of the Sims 4 free CAS items released on August 25 and does not require the Mean Girls or Clueless Capsule Kit.

New Size-Inclusive Clothes in The Sims 4

Body diversity is one of the main focuses of the new CAS collection.

EA says the clothing was created to celebrate Sims of every size, with new options available across both feminine and masculine frames.

The designs draw inspiration from form-fitting styles, bold patterns and full-body dresses intended to accentuate natural curves while providing visual structure across different Sim bodies.

This means the Sims 4 free CAS items are not simply six unrelated pieces of clothing added to increase the size of the base-game catalogue.

They have been created as a coordinated collection with body diversity specifically in mind.

Five New Styled Looks Are Also Free

There are also five new Styled Looks included with the August CAS update.

Styled Looks are premade outfits that combine clothing into complete looks. You can use them exactly as EA has designed them or select one as a starting point before changing individual pieces.

The five new Styled Looks use the August clothing, making this one of the easiest ways to see how the new items can be combined.

They are also part of the free update, so no additional DLC is required.

Five New Starter Sims

The Sims 4 free CAS items update adds five new Starter Sims alongside the clothes and hairstyle.

Each Starter Sim has been created to showcase the new outfits and provide players with another starting point when creating a household.

Starter Sims can appear when entering Create a Sim, but EA is also making all five available through the Gallery.

That means you can find the new Sims directly rather than repeatedly generating Starter Sims until the one you want appears.

Once added to Create a Sim, they can be customized just like any other Sim.

Are the New Starter Sims Townies?

No. The five new Starter Sims should not be confused with new townies being automatically added to your existing worlds.

Starter Sims are premade characters designed to give you a starting point in Create a Sim.

You can change their appearance, clothing, personality, aspiration and other characteristics before adding them to your household.

They simply arrive wearing the new clothing so players can immediately see some of the August outfits in use.

Are the Sims 4 Free CAS Items Part of Mean Girls?

No. The Sims 4 free CAS items are completely separate from the upcoming Mean Girls Capsule Kit.

This is particularly worth knowing because the releases are only two days apart.

The Mean Girls and Clueless collections are paid Capsule Kits launching separately on August 27.

You don’t need either of them to access the August 25 CAS additions.

Do You Need Any Sims 4 DLC?

No.

Every piece of content covered here is being added directly to the Sims 4 base game.

That means players who have never purchased a single Sims 4 Expansion Pack or Kit receive the same Sims 4 free CAS items as players with large DLC collections.

The only requirement is having the latest base-game update installed.

Why Can’t I Find the New CAS Items?

If the new clothes or Cosmic Coils are missing, check your game version first.

The content was introduced through the August 25 update and will not appear if your game has not finished updating.

You should also check your Create a Sim filters. CAS filters can hide items depending on the selected fashion choice, frame or clothing category.

Removing unnecessary filters can make finding individual pieces easier.

PC and Mac players using CAS or UI mods should also make sure their mods remain compatible with Patch 1.127 if Create a Sim is displaying incorrectly.

Are More Free CAS Items Coming?

EA has not announced another specific release date for additional free CAS content.

However, the Sims 4 free CAS items continue a noticeable run of base-game Create a Sim additions.

July introduced eight new culturally influenced Starter Sims and accessories, followed in August by the six new clothing assets, five additional Starter Sims and Cosmic Coils.

EA is therefore continuing to expand the base-game CAS catalogue alongside its paid Packs, Kits and Marketplace releases.
