My Hero Ultra Rumble Area Damage changed significantly in Patch 1.18.0, giving players more time before damage increases outside the Safe Area while making very long stays outside the zone more dangerous. The first damage increase now takes 15 seconds instead of 10 seconds, and a further increase is added after 60 consecutive seconds outside.
The update also gives My Hero Ultra Rumble Area Damage a new reset interaction. Collecting an ally’s badge while outside the Safe Area now resets the timer for the next damage increase, which can matter during risky rescue attempts near the edge of the zone.
How My Hero Ultra Rumble Area Damage works after Patch 1.18.0

- The first Area Damage increase is delayed from 10 seconds to 15 seconds outside the Safe Area.
- Collecting an ally badge while outside resets the timer for the damage increase.
- Area Damage increases again after 60 consecutive seconds outside the Safe Area.
- The changes apply from the September 30 Patch 1.18.0 update.
The result is a system that is slightly more forgiving during short trips outside the circle but more punishing when players deliberately remain outside for a long time.
My Hero Ultra Rumble Area Damage: Why the first Area Damage timer is now 15 seconds
Before 1.18.0, the damage ramp increased after 10 seconds outside the Safe Area. Bandai Namco extended that window to 15 seconds, giving teams more room to make a quick recovery, retrieve an ally badge or cross back toward safety.
That does not make the outside zone harmless. The timer affects when the damage increases, not whether Area Damage exists at all.
How the ally badge timer reset works
If you collect an ally’s badge while outside the Safe Area, Patch 1.18.0 resets the timer used for the next Area Damage increase. That creates an important rescue interaction that did not exist under the previous timer behaviour.
The reset is tied specifically to collecting an ally badge outside the Safe Area. Simply moving toward a badge or standing near a downed teammate is not described as enough to reset My Hero Ultra Rumble Area Damage.
What happens after 60 seconds outside the Safe Area?
Patch 1.18.0 adds another Area Damage increase after a player spends 60 consecutive seconds outside the Safe Area. Bandai Namco added this extra escalation while also making the early ramp slower.
That means extremely long outside-zone survival is less attractive even though short rescue trips receive more breathing room. The system now distinguishes more clearly between a quick tactical excursion and intentionally living outside the circle.
Does re-entering the Safe Area reset the timer?
The patch specifically describes 60 consecutive seconds outside the Safe Area. Returning inside therefore breaks that continuous outside period before a later excursion begins.
For the separate damage-increase timer, the new patch explicitly names ally-badge collection as a reset condition outside the zone. The safest approach is still to return to the Safe Area whenever possible rather than relying on timer manipulation.
Can healing outlast My Hero Ultra Rumble Area Damage?
Patch 1.18.0 also changes Mr. Compress so his Magic Resurrection Special Action no longer restores HP outside the Safe Area. Bandai Namco says increased healing had made survival outside the zone more effective than intended.
That balance note helps explain the wider direction of the system. Short rescues are being made fairer, while long-term survival outside the Safe Area is being discouraged more aggressively.
My Hero Ultra Rumble Area Damage: best way to use the new Safe Area timer
Use the extra five seconds as rescue and repositioning time, not permission to ignore the circle. If an ally badge is close enough to retrieve safely, collecting it now refreshes the escalation timer and gives the team a cleaner chance to get back inside.
Once an outside run approaches a full minute, the additional escalation makes staying out far less attractive. A team that keeps rotating back into the Safe Area will avoid the most punishing My Hero Ultra Rumble Area Damage state.
What else changed in Patch 1.18.0?
Bandai Namco also added Pro Mission Events, temporarily changed title and final-stage battle music to You Say Run, adjusted melee attacks, changed several Battle Styles and reduced server errors reported since Season 18.
For zone strategy, though, the major 1.18.0 change is My Hero Ultra Rumble Area Damage: 15 seconds before the first increase, an ally-badge reset and a new extra increase after 60 uninterrupted seconds outside.
