Echoes of Wisdom Swordfighter Form gives Zelda a way to fight directly with a sword. She finds the weapon during her journey through the Still World, but the transformation uses energy, so she can’t stay in it indefinitely.
Most of the time Zelda can rely on Echoes to attack enemies or solve puzzles. The sword is there for the moments when she needs to step in herself, whether that’s cutting through an obstruction or striking an enemy while it’s distracted.
How Echoes of Wisdom Swordfighter Form works

The mysterious sword lets Zelda transform temporarily and slash enemies and certain barriers. Watch the Swordfighter energy meter: once it’s empty, Zelda returns to her normal form. That makes timing important, particularly in a long encounter.
Nintendo suggests a useful combination: summon a monster Echo to occupy an enemy, then attack with the sword while its attention is elsewhere. This lets Zelda get some direct hits in without relying on her limited energy for the whole fight.
How to refill Swordfighter energy
Look for energy throughout the Still World, the strange realm inside Hyrule’s rifts. Picking it up refills the Swordfighter meter. It’s worth collecting as you explore rather than entering a challenging fight with almost nothing left.
Energy-restoring smoothies give Zelda another way to refill the meter. Nintendo confirms this option in its Still World guide. Check the effect before drinking: a smoothie meant to recover hearts isn’t necessarily one that restores sword energy. Our smoothies guide covers the different benefits.
There’s no need to spend the last of the meter on an enemy your monster Echo is already handling. Echoes of Wisdom Swordfighter Form is most helpful when you save it for a barrier or a moment when Zelda can land a few attacks safely.
Can you upgrade Echoes of Wisdom Swordfighter Form?
Yes. Visit Lueburry’s house in Suthorn Forest with Might Crystals. He can increase Zelda’s Swordfighter energy limit and make the sword stronger. Both upgrades are useful, but they address different problems.
Nintendo suggests looking around unusual rock formations and patches of dirt or grass while collecting Might Crystals. When you have some, return to Lueburry and check the available upgrades. If the transformation ends too quickly, more energy is the upgrade to consider.
If the meter lasts long enough but attacks feel weak, improving the sword itself is the other option. Echoes of Wisdom Swordfighter Form becomes more flexible as you upgrade it, though the transformation still uses energy.
When should Zelda use Swordfighter Form?
Use Swordfighter Form when you need a direct attack or a sword-cuttable barrier is blocking progress. In combat, create a monster Echo first, let it engage your opponent and use the opening to attack. Zelda doesn’t need to remain transformed while a summon can do the job.
Echoes of Wisdom Swordfighter Form also gives Zelda a slightly higher jump, as Nintendo’s tips confirm. That can be enough to reach a ledge just beyond her usual range. If the gap is larger, place some Echoes or use Bind and Reverse Bond to follow a moving platform.

Swordfighter Form versus Echo monsters and automatons
Monster Echoes are creatures Zelda summons through the Tri Rod. They can fight while she keeps moving, making them a good choice when energy is scarce. Swordfighter Form instead puts Zelda into the action with her own attacks. Using the two together often gives you more flexibility than relying on either alone.
Engineer Dampé also creates wind-up automatons that can attack or stun foes. They offer another option for controlling a fight without making Zelda spend sword energy on every encounter.
With Echoes of Wisdom Swordfighter Form, the best habit is to watch your energy, collect more in the Still World and use suitable smoothies when needed. Lueburry’s Might Crystal upgrades help the transformation last longer and hit harder, while monster Echoes remain useful whenever you’re conserving energy.
