Marvel’s Wolverine Nightmare Trials are challenge rooms entered through 14 Nightmare Doors during the campaign, followed by a secret fifteenth trial in the Nightmare Cabin after the story.
How Marvel’s Wolverine Nightmare Trials work
| Rating goal | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Bronze | Counts trial as completed |
| Silver | Needed for selected claw rewards |
| Adamantium | Highest rating; one required for Adamantium Dreams |
| 15 Bronze clears | Unlocks hidden-memory completion route |
Trials mix combat and traversal objectives with score ratings. Bronze is enough when your goal is simply completing the full hidden-memory chain, while higher ratings award more Adaptation XP and specific trials can unlock cosmetic claw rewards.
Campaign doors: 14
Total trials: 15 including secret post-story trial
Trophy minimum: Bronze on all for hidden-memory route
Highest rank: Adamantium
Bronze, Silver, Gold and Adamantium
The important score thresholds depend on what you are chasing. Bronze counts a trial as completed for the Repressed Memories route. Silver matters for several claw cosmetics, while Adamantium is the highest rating and is required only once for the Adamantium Dreams trophy.
Marvel’s Wolverine Nightmare Trials do not require Adamantium across the entire set for Platinum. That is an easy mistake to make when the top rank is visible on every challenge.
Trials and Adaptation Level
Nightmare performance awards Adaptation XP, and higher scores speed that progression. Combined with Whisky Bottle collectibles, the system expands Logan’s Adaptation options and eventually raises the number of Strands he can equip to ten.

Marvel’s Wolverine Nightmare Trials are therefore worth revisiting even after a Bronze clear if you want Adaptation Level 10 sooner or simply want stronger perk flexibility before late bosses.
The secret Best There Is trial
Find all 14 campaign doors and earn at least Bronze in their trials, then complete the main story. In the Nightmare Cabin, the bottom-right figurine on the shelf gains the Best There Is trial. Earn at least Bronze there to finish the full set.
After that Marvel’s Wolverine Nightmare Trials milestone, leave the cabin and follow the scent trail to the hidden memory sequence associated with the Repressed Memories trophy.
Making difficult trials easier
You can return after unlocking more Techniques, Adaptations and health from suit crafting. That means there is little reason to grind a difficult rating the first moment a door appears. Clear Bronze, continue the story, and come back with a stronger Logan if you want Silver or Adamantium.
Marvel’s Wolverine Nightmare Trials also respect the game’s difficulty settings, so players focused on trophy cleanup can lower difficulty rather than turning one score challenge into an unnecessary wall.
Marvel’s Wolverine Nightmare Trials: Use easier trials to learn the scoring rhythm
A Nightmare Trial becomes much easier to optimize once you know where enemies enter, which targets are dangerous and when a Special Technique can remove several problems at once. Treat the first clear as reconnaissance instead of demanding Adamantium immediately.
After a Bronze clear, adjust the build for the trial you are repeating. Combat Adaptations, reliable crowd control and a familiar Special Technique loadout usually improve consistency more than repeatedly restarting with the same setup and hoping for a cleaner run.
Marvel’s Wolverine Nightmare Trials rewards learning a repeatable enemy sequence, then bringing a build designed for that challenge instead of restarting the same messy attempt.
What ratings are actually worth chasing
Nightmare Trials award ratings based on performance, but the trophy route does not require Adamantium everywhere. For the Repressed Memories chain, Bronze or better on the door trials is the important baseline. Adamantium Dreams only asks for one Adamantium rating in any trial, so pick the challenge that best suits your build and push that one hard.
Silver still matters because selected trials use it for cosmetic claw rewards. Flat-Edged, Gold and Diamond Claws are examples tied to specific Silver clears. Higher ratings also help with Adaptation progression, which means there is still value in improving old scores after the trophies are secure.
A lower combat difficulty can also make the Adamantium attempt more forgiving if the score requirement is giving you trouble. The trophy cares about the rating, not about proving it on the hardest campaign setting.
