In the main event of WrestleMania 38, Brock Lesnar faced off against Roman Reigns in a Winner Takes All match to unify both the WWE and Universal Championship in what was billed as the “Biggest WrestleMania Match Of All Time”.
Despite its billing, the match didn’t quite live up to expectations and was certainly not the best match of the night, which had to go to Sami Zayn vs Johnny Knoxville, trust us it was awesome.
The match started off in a very entertaining manner, with Brock Lesnar emulating Paul Heyman’s introduction speech. Seriously, why has it taken until now for Brock Lesnar to show just how charismatic he is?
Once the bell rang the match was the typical main event style that we’ve come to expect from these two Superstars, plenty of brawling, suplexes, and finishing moves.
It is possible that both Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar got hurt towards the end of the match because the match appeared to end very abruptly and it looked like they called an audible.
In the end, Roman Reigns won the match to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion to close out the Showcase of the Immortals.
