Far Cry 6: Release Date, Trailer, Xbox Series X, Ray Tracing, PC Requirements, Xbox One, PS5, Game Pass and More

Ubisoft’s Far Cry series is renowned for it’s exceptional open-world gameplay, narrative weaving, and action-packed gameplay. Now, fans are looking forward to Far Cry 6 and the hopes of a new adventure that is as thrilling as the last.
Far Cry 6 is set on Yara, a fictional Caribbean island going through the throes of revolution against it’s dictatorship. The game will have the player take the role of a revolutionary tasked with helping to take down “El Presidente” Castillo and his son.
Developed by Ubisoft Toronto, the same studio responsible for Far Cry 5, this game amps up it’s appeal by showcasing the incredible Giancarlo Esposito as the fearsome Castillo. His son, Diego, is being portrayed by Anthony Gonzalez. He is most known for his performance as Miquel in Coco.
Far Cry 6 Trailer
Below, you can see the Cinematic Title Sequence Trailer that was shared by Ubisoft at UbiFWD in July 2020. It showcases thematic imagery and an exciting look at the initial cast list headed by Giancarlo Esposito.
Alongside this, the official reveal trailer for Far Cry 6 offers us an exciting insight into the two main antagonistic characters that are showcased in the Key Artwork for the game. El Presidente is ruthless, cold, and calculating. Diego, his son, is being groomed to become the next harsh dictator of Yara.

Release Date Information
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Far Cry 6 was delayed from it’s initial release date of February 18, 2021. It is still expected to launch in 2021, though, however no official date has been given.
A Microsoft Store listing leaked May 25 2021 as the possible release date, however Ubisoft has not confirmed this. That being said, when this has happened in the past the leaked date is often accurate.

This is slightly different to the official listing by Ubisoft on their Far Cry 6 hub site. Here, Ubisoft Connect is listed and Amazon Luna is not mentioned. There is no confirmation as to whether the game will be coming to Steam, but it is confirmed to not be launching on the platform.

Additional Information
In Fary Cry 6, the player will take the role of a Yara Revolutionary named Dani Rojas. Like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, this game will let you choose to play as a character aligned as a Man or a Woman.
Sean Rey will voice the Male Dani, and Nisa Gundez will voice the Female Dani.
Narrative Director Navid Khavari had this to say about the decision:
“We knew that if we’re going to tell the revolution story, if we’re going to tell a story about someone in a guerrilla movement, you need to have that personal connection with them… You need someone who’s rooted in the world, who has a background. So we wanted proper performance capture, we wanted to have a voice.”
In addition to this, Khavari confirmed in an interview that Far Cry 6 will have a greater emphasis on verticality in it’s gameplay which will offer a fresh take on the traditional action-adventure FPS gameplay the series is known for.
Despite the rumours that Diego is actually a young Vaas, the antagonist from Far Cry 3, little else is known about how the narrative of the next Far Cry title will play out. What are you hoping to see?
