Earlier this week, Paramount Plus shared the first trailer for their upcoming Halo TV series and it looks incredible. We’ve already got a glimpse of what to expect with Master Chief taking on the Covenant and talks of a Halo Ring from the supporting cast. The only question we have is ‘who is Master Chief in the Halo series?’

Thankfully, we know already – it’s not the same actor as Halo Infinite, though.

Master Chief Halo TV series – who’s playing him?

In Paramount Plus’ new series, Master Chief is being played by Pablo Schrieber. This Canadian-American actor has been around for a little while, but you might know him as George “Pornstache” Mendez from Orange Is The New Black – we know, the memes are waiting to be made.

In addition to this, Schrieber can be found in Den of Thieves, 13 Hours, Skyscraper, First Man, and The Devil Has a Name. He also had a recurring role on The Wire, Weeds, American Gods, and Ironside. It’s safe to say that Schreiber has a solid mix of experience under his belt – will this be enough to carry the legendary Master Chief through his first real live-action appearance?

The Halo series is set in the midst of the Human-Covenant war that defines the video game series of the same name and it looks as though Master Chief’s breaking from his programming is the catalyst for the events of the first season at the very least. From what we can tell, it’s going to loosely follow the narrative outlined in the video game series – however, expect this to be a fresh take on the iconic character.
