PowerA PS5 Twin Charging Station for DualSense (Review)

PowerA is one of the most popular third-party Xbox and PlayStation accessory developers, and they’ve released a charging dock for the DualSense PS5 controller.

We got our hands on a review unit to let you know what we think of it, so what do we think?

How does it look?

The PowerA PS5 Twin Charging Station looks pretty futuristic and matches the PS5 console perfectly (if you look at it from the side, it almost looks like it could be a visor of sorts).

Each side of the charging station has some pretty big PlayStation branding directly in the middle, which–if you want to see the PlayStation logo on your accessories–looks nice and clean.

How does it charge?

So, the real question is how does it charge your controller? Well, I pretty much keep my DualSense controller on the charging dock all of the time when I’m not using my PS5, and every time I pick up the controller it has a full charge.

The PowerA Twin Charging Station for PS5 is pretty easy to use, just drop the PS5 controller onto one of the two charging ports and you’re all set.

Unfortunately, it uses an AC adapter for charging rather than a USB-C or even a Micro-USB cable, which is significantly disappointing. I would love to see PowerA start adopting more of these mainstream charging options rather than AC adapters.

How much is it?

The PowerA PS5 Twin Charging Station is going to cost you about $25, which is definitely one of the least expensive charging stations on the market. It’s also pretty sturdy, which makes it a great option for those looking for some affordable holiday gifts for family and friends.

Overall, the PowerA Twin Charging Station for PS5 is easy to recommend because of its affordability and solid build quality. The hardest thing about this product to recommend is the fact that it still uses an AC adapter for charging, and it’s still nearly impossible to get your hands on a PS5, so it will pretty much be useless to many right now.
