iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds Review: Simple and near-perfect

iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds review

iLive is a company not too well-known or high up in the rankings as a tech company, but in any general store where you can find headphones, you’ll likely find products from iLive and other companies.

While I’ve always been skeptical of cheaper competitors to the Apple Airpods, iLive did not disappoint with their alternative product that combined noise canceling, Bluetooth, compatibility, and more into one sleek product that can easily give competitors a run for their money.

Below, we’ve detailed the iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds, reviewed the product, and discussed its pros, cons, and other notable information about the earbuds I haven’t stopped using since I received them for this review from iLive.

iLive Truly Wireless delivers surprisingly crisp sound

One of the most critical factors in having a favorite pair of headphones is the sound factor and related qualities. While I can honestly say that the iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds have the sound one may expect from a pair of Beats or a competitive large pad wireless headset, they deliver a unique sound without a doubt.

The sound delivered from the iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds was surprisingly low to me at first. However, I slowly increased the volume while listening to one of my more popular albums lately. With that, I realized something incredible; the headphone increased at smaller notches than my Apple phone would typically increase the volume at. Which, in turn, provided a more preferred and specific location for my volume notch to sit at

With the option for a more precise volume level, the iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds also delivered a more boosted sound, with the bonus of noise canceling. I’ve never found noise canceling to be a factor that worked in most sets of headphones, but the iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds delivered a surprise there too.

For something so loud, iLive created some seriously soft Earbuds with options

iLive hasn’t only delivered some surprisingly loud and precisely controlled earbuds, and they also supply each iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds set with three interchangeable ear tip sizes, more minor, medium, and large. By default, when unboxed, the iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds were equipped with medium ear tips, as noted by the two remainings, when opened, were smaller and more significant in comparison.

Upon discovering the additional ear tips, I would swap to the smallest size I usually have. Still, I didn’t find a need to swap them with the default ear tips equipped with the iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds, being a perfect fit for my ears, and there’s never been any sign that an earbud was going to fall out. On top of the ear tips never feeling loose or a chance of them falling out, they’re also surprisingly comfortable.

iLive Truly Wireless Earbuds controls are tricky and sensitive

While controls have been a long necessary detail to any music or headphone-related accessory, iLive has adapted the typical headphone controls found on Apple standard headphones, such as pause song, next song, previous song, and more.

Although adapted may be too strong of a word, the company has undoubtedly created a unique array of controls for their iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds. Yet, similar to traditional headphone controls, users could quickly become accustomed to the differences between the iLive Earbuds and another brand.

The controls for the iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds, performed on the Function Touch Pad, are as follows:

  • Power On/Off – Tap and hold for 5 seconds
  • Play/Pause – Single Tap
  • Answer/End calls – Single tap
  • Reject call – Tap and hold for two seconds
  • Voice Assistant – Tap and hold for two seconds (LEFT EARBUD)
  • Switch Modes – Press and hold for three seconds to choose between Active Noise Cancellation, Transparent, and Normal (RIGHT EARBUD)
  • Next song – Quickly tap twice (LEFT)
  • Previous song – Quickly tap twice (RIGHT)
  • Increase volume – Quickly tap three times (LEFT)
  • Decrease volume – Quickly tap three times (RIGHT)

While the iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds have extensive controls via the Function Touch Pad, the vast amount of controls and the specific earbud for a portion of them has made the provided controls expansive but the opposite of convenient.

iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds provide incredible, crisp sound, control, comfortability, and additional perks of modern technology that continue to make this specific iLive earbud set stick out significantly. Additional perks of the iLive Earbuds include a sweatproof design, Bluetooth 5.0, noise cancellation with the option to turn off, True Wireless Stereo, built-in microphone, works with AI from Google and Apple, as well as an easy pairing feature, automatic pairing, and rechargeable case. Hence, everything stays together, even when charging.

As for the charging specifics of the iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds, on top of the three sets of ear tips that the earbuds came with and the charging case, iLive also included a short USB-Type C wire for charging. It’s also worth noting that with near-daily use of the earbuds, I’m currently only charging them for the second time after the initial charge for first-time use.

Final impressions of iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds

Although the iLive Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds have been my second pair of wireless earbuds I’ve owned, the pair from iLive has not only replaced my standard Apple wired headphones but has set my eyes on strictly wireless earbuds for the foreseeable future and more than likely iLive’s future wireless earbuds.
