STEPN – The first Web3 Move-to-Earn NFT game

STEPN- The First Web3 Move to Earn NFT Game

You’ve may have heard about NFT games and play-to-earn titles. These days, the two are generally identical. These games have a lot, from solving jigsaw puzzles and dismembering aliens to purchasing virtual worlds.

One thing all of these games have in common is they’re simple to play. Certain games are more enjoyable than other games, though the primary attraction is the amount of effort you’ll have to put into making money quickly.

STEPN game is the initial Web3 NFT game that requires you to physically move from one place to another in order to advance. As you wander around, you’ll collect more coins. The greater number of tokens you accumulate, the better chance you’ll be able to win important items.

The physical effort needed to play this game is a challenge for many of today’s players. Who would have believed, in the past, that we’d require more than just our quick fingers to win games, and yet now we’re here? We put STEPN to the test by cutting back some of our hard-earned calories. Here’s what we discovered during out time with STEPN.

STEPN Overview

As with every other NFT game, STEPN runs on the blockchain, and it issues its own token for game utility. In this instance, the game was launched in the Solana blockchain, an ever-competitive cryptocurrency. It is possible to use SOL to buy any STEPN products from its marketplace; however, the game itself uses Green Satoshi Tokens (GST), which is also the type you’ll earn.

One GST is worth around $2.50, and an SOL is around the $90 mark. Also, an accountability token, GMT, is more valuable than GST and can be used in the game’s endgame content. You can earn GMT when you increase your level. Based on the kind of shoes you wear, you can choose between the options of either GST or GMT. All of them would be identical once you switch to Solana.

Getting started with STEPN

STEPN is a game that uses GPS to track your movement and steps, in a similar manner to Pokemon Go.

To begin running, you’ll need to purchase a pair of virtual sneakers. These will be mint NFTs, and you can sell them to the public and perhaps make a profit by selling them later, potentially buying an upgrade in the process.

Each pair of shoes is like a 2D Pokemon with unique stats and rarity. These very stats determine how long you can run before needing to recharge. They may also offer you a speed bonus to make more of your selected currency when you run.

If you have SOL in your purse, then buying sneakers is simple. If not, you’ll need to purchase some Liquid with the quick Exchange option. The game allows players to import their money and use it in-game. However, we suggest setting up the wallet in STEPN and transferring SOL onto it.

It is important to note that you must purchase SOL at the markets, but you can earn GST while playing the game.

One issue with the STEPN market is that the price of the products doesn’t always represent their quality. For instance, you may come across a pair of Common sneakers with average statistics for 9.0 SOL and a pair with lower stats at 1500 SOL.

This kind of disparity is confusing, but since the game is in its infancy, it could be something that gets resolved in the future.

Earning in STEPN

Although you’ll need shoes to begin earning money, they are the only thing you’ll need to begin running.

For first-time users, you can test the application and its features for no cost. Once you’re ready, you can commit, and once you’ve got some STEPN shoes, the earnings meter will begin filling up whenever you go for a run.

Unfortunately, STEPN also has one of those infamously disliked game mechanics: time-gating. There’s a limit to how much you can use the app per day, which means there’s a limit to the amount you can earn.

In STEPN, the system is called Energy. You can get some each day for free and a portion from your shoes, with the best sneakers giving you plenty of energy. There is a general limit to the amount you can get daily regardless of the shoes used.

There’s also a speedometer, which you must keep track of to keep earning. This is among the most difficult aspects of the app, requiring you to stay at the top of your game each and every time you run.
