Deadpool 3 trends before an actual trailer

Deadpool 3

As Deadpool 3 is not enough, trending videos of Ryan Reynolds on YouTube teased us with Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine.

The Youtube video of Ryan Reynolds has been trending since it was posted less than 24 hours ago. It shows a brief cameo of Hugh Jackman taking a flight of stairs as Reynolds asks him if he wants to play Wolverine one more time. Jackman answers, “Yeah, sure, Ryan,” which was followed shortly by the chorus of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”.

There were two videos released by the Canadian-American actor. Each one gives us a glimpse of what we can expect in Deadpool 3. There was not much to catch, but a tweet from Ryan Reynolds gave us an idea of what he and Hugh Jackman wanted to tell us.

“Hey everyone, we’re extremely sad to have missed D23, but we’ve been working very hard on the next ‘Deadpool’ film for a good long while now,” Reynolds says in the video, referencing the D23 Expo in early September. “I’ve had to really search my soul on this one. His first appearance in the MCU obviously needs to feel special. We need to stay true to the character, find new depth, motivation, meaning. Every ‘Deadpool’ needs to stand out and stand apart. It’s been an incredible challenge that has forced me to reach down deep inside. And I…I have nothing. Yeah, just completely empty up here. And terrifying. But we did have one idea.”

What we know so far in Deadpool 3

From what can be found on the surface, we know that Hugh Jackman will be part of the upcoming movie. We also know that the movie will be filled with action from the actions they used to describe the movie using their second video. In a true Deadpool fashion, there would also likely be blood, gore, and more blood.

Digging deeper into it, a tweet from Hideo Kojima hinted that he might also be taking part in the project. We also know that Shawn Levy, the director of “Free Guy” and “The Adam Project” is also directing Deadpool 3. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers of Deadpool and its second installment, will be back for the upcoming installment. They have also already confirmed previously that the movie will continue to be R-rated, even within the family-friendly MCU.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wolverine died in the movie ‘Logan’. Reynolds clarified this in the second video, stating that “Logan died in Logan. Not touching that.” He moves on and says, “What happens in our film is, these two f***ing guys…”

However, the two videos seem to have irked the Logan director, James Mangold. In a response to the two videos, Mangold tweeted a GIF with Wolverine’s infamous death scene. In the same tweet, Mangold clarified that he was “Just kidding!” and added, “I’m all good!” He even tagged both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on the pinned comment. Even with this, the post continues to gather hate comments. Others tried to make sense of what happened using the logic of the MCU.

In another tweet, Ryan Reynolds did give an idea of what they were talking about in the background. He cited:

A quick explainer video that tackles…

  2. )    Logan canon
  3. )    MCU FAQ
