Pokemon Go Winter Holiday Part 1

As we continue the Season of Mythical Wishes with the Winter season upon us, trainers are in store for a whole host of festivities as we begin the Pokemon Go Winter Holiday Part 1 event.

With new and old Pokemon, and brand-new outfits to make sure you’re toasty warm, there’s so much in store for trainers.

Let’s take a look below at the all important details, bonuses, the rewards, and see who’s making an appearance!

Winter Holiday Part 1 – The details

Beginning Thursday, December 15, at 10:00 AM Local Time until Friday, December 23, at 10:00 AM Local Time, trainers have just over a week to complete the first challenges in this 2 part event.

With bonus features such as 50% more XP for winning Raid Battles, Trainers being able to hold up to 40 Gifts until the end of the event, and a Pokemon making its debut, it’s an event not to be missed.

Mega Glalie Debuts

Making its way into Mega Raids for the duration of the event is the mighty Mega Glalie.

An Ice-type Pokemon, Glalie is one of two possible evolutions of Snorunt. Originating from the third generation of Pokemon games, Snorunt will evolve into Glalie if male or Frosslass if female.

Who is in the Wild during the Winter Holiday Part 1 Event?

For the duration of the Winter Holiday Part 1 Event, players can expect to see an increased spawn rate of the following Pokemon (and of course, it wouldn’t be a festive event without a Pikachu in a new hat):

The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild.

  • Winter Carnival Pikachu
  • Swinub
  • Delibird
  • Snorunt
  • Holiday Spheal
  • Vanillite
  • Bergmite
  • Alolan Vulpix
  • Holiday Stantler
  • Cryogonal

All Pokemon, besides Cryogonal, will be available as Shiny Pokemon!

7km Eggs – Who’s hiding inside?

Players can expect to find the following Pokemon hiding within the 7km eggs for the Winter Holiday Part 1 Event:

  • Sneasel
  • Smoochum
  • Amaura
  • Bergmite
  • Crabrawler

At present, Crabrawler is not available as a Shiny Pokemon.

Timed Research WInter Holiday Part 1

Priced at US$5.00 (or the equivalent local currency), trainers willl be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research, and if you manage to complete the Timed Research, you will be given am Event Themed Avatar Pose.

Also included within the cost of the ticket are the following items:

  • Two Incubators
  • One Incense
  • Abomasnow Mega Energy
  • Various event-themed Pokémon encounters

The Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

A Shiny Pokemon Debut

Jumping in to join in the festivities, trainers are in for a treat as Bergmite makes it’s in game debut!

  • Holiday Pyjama Top
  • Holiday Pyjama Bottoms
  • Holiday Pyjama Slippers

  • Holiday Hat

  • Holiday Suit

It really is the most wonderful time of the year, and that includes Pokemon Go too! With so much available, and this is only Part 1, we can’t wait to see what they have in store with Part 2!
